I recently purchased a macbook pro and it keeps crashing... how can i tell if the computer is not been stolen?

I recently purchased a macbook pro online.. It keeps crashing like its being remotely locked down.. How can i tell if i got a stolen computer and should i notify the police?

Please describe what you mean by crash and what makes you to believe it is being locked down. Also, if it is a kernel panic lag the panic and post the results here
