I recently updated my iphone 3GS and lost everything - does anyone know how to get my contacts back, notes, calender etc?
I recently updated my iphone 3GS to iOS 5.0.1 software. After this was completed everything had been wiped from phone, all photos, apps, contacts, notes, calender. emails, music and settings. itunes wouldnt recognise my phone afterwards, but I have now been able to put back my photos, music and apps. Does anyone know how I can get my contacts, calender and email back please (notes would be good too!!). I didnt have icloud.
You should have been syncing all of this to your computer regularly.
Just sync it back.

The user profile my appleTV was synced on my computer to no longer works (corrupt). My Apple TV is still synced to that profile and all of my recent purchases are going to that username. Does anyone know how to get all of the purchased items back and to the new user (same computer)? I created a new user on my computer and moved the itunes folder to the desktop but never changed the path to which the apple synced to. Now I can only see old items I purchased before the user profile went bad. PLease help!
Welcome to the Apple Community.
Changing the library the Apple TV is synced with will delete all synced content from the Apple TV, but it won't delete purchased content.
You should be able to change the library, resync any content you want and transfer your purchases back to the new library. -
I just installed ios7 on my iPhone 4s. It seems to be working fine but all of the apps I had previously installed are gone. They show up in my app store as purchased, but the shortcuts are gone. Does anyone know how to get the shortcuts back? Thanks!
I updated via my iPhone 4s. The apps were on my iPhone 4s. That's all the information that I have. The update to ios7 seems to have gone smoothly - everything else is working, phone texting, email, internet, etc. But all of the apps I had installed over the past year are no longer showing up as shortcuts. No facebook, no twitter, no espn, etc. They are all still listed in my app store as purchased, but the shortcuts and my folders are gone. Thanks.

The red, green and yellow buttons in the upper left corner of the screen disappear whenever I open Safari. I cannot minimize the Safari window which I often need to do if I am coordinating multiple windows between different applications. Does anyone know how to get those buttons back? I guess I could just switch betwen appliations, but I am used to doing it the other way.

Iphoto library gone after software upgrade/update..Does anyone know how to get my pictures back?
Hello, I have a Macbook Air and 3 days ago, I had a "crucial update" on my computer but accepted it before looking at what it was for. When my computer auto restarted, my iphoto library was completely gone. Does anyone know how this could have happened?
I have the OS X 10.7.5 and iphoto 9.2.3... The update that I did may have been the Os X 10.7.5 but I did not look at what the update was being quickly clicking the accept button.
Unfortunately, I do not think that my pictures were backed up on the "time machine application". Any help would be great for how I can get my pictures back.

I downloaded iTunes 11.1 and when I went to open iTunes after the download, all of my content (music, playlists, podcasts, etc.) was missing. The only thing there is my purchased items. Does anyone know how I can get my content back in my iTunes?

My iPhone was knocked off the table in my garden and landed front side down on the concrete tiles, I picked it up and the glass screen was shattered, the phone display is fine and I can still see the screen and use the phone.. i'd just rather not have a massive crack all over it !

Thanks for any assistance!Firefox has no built-in option to do this, it will be due to an extension. Check your list of extensions to see which one has added this feature. Extensions that have this feature include Tab Kit, Tree Style Tab and Unified Sidebar, though there are probably others.

Try to force your phone into recovery mode. Disconnect it from the computer's USB cord. Turn it off if you can by holding the sleep/wake switch until you see the red slide to off. If you can't turn it off, please continue. Press and hold the home button while plugging it into the computer's USB cord. Continue holding the Home button while iPhone starts up. While starting up, you will see the Apple logo. When you see "Connect to iTunes" on the screen, you can release the Home button and iTunes will display the recovery mode message. Hopefully it isn't too late for this but: before performing an update it is really best if you close all apps (double click the home button, click and hold on one of the apps that appears at the bottom of the phone until the red minus sign appears and then tap the minus sign until all apps are closed) and then turn the phone off by holding the standby button until the slider saying "slide to power off" appears and slide it to turn the phone off. Then turn the phone back on and hook it up to your computer to sync and perform the upgrade. This also helps if you do this before performing syncs too. I had problems with an iPod previously where it would fail to backup before sync most times, but have never had a problem with updates or syncs since I started performing this procedure. Unfortunately, your pre-update backup may have failed and the data in your apps might be gone, but you could try to restore your phone. If I remember correctly how to do this, you connect it to your computer and check for updates. It should say you're up to date, but have an option to restore the phone. If it does, I'd try that. It may also have a "restore from backup" option you could try.

When I got my new iPhone and was trying to switch everything over I accidentally set up a new icloud account with one email and had one on my old iphone with another account. Does anyone know how I can merge the two accounts?
You cannot merge Apple IDs but you can go to Settings > iCloud and 'Delete Account'. When prompted to turn off documents and data, choose the only option which is Delete from my iPhone, but on the other prompt for Contacts, Calendars, etc you can choose 'Keep on my iPhone' Then once the Account is Deleted form the iPhone, log back in with the correct Apple ID and choose Merge when prompted. This will merge your data from this iPhone with that iCloud account effectively putting your devices on the same account.

I have lost sound on my iPad in apps unless I use headphones ,does anyone know how to get sound back without them .I have used the mute volume on the bar at bottom of screen and the slider volume control there only shows when headphones are plugged in !
I also tried resetting settings all to no avail ...I looked up some advice and watched utube video advice on how to fix without success..
The volume control button on side does not work ,I got the iPad last August and wonder if it is a fault that means I must return it for replacement from where it was purchased ?The Retrospect you used way back when is no longer around. The company was sold and that company produced a new version of Retrospect - Retrospect 8.x
So, as you've been told, you would have to be running a Tiger system with an old version of Retrospect software (5.x or 6.x - you would need to know) assuming you can find the software.
As best I can remember you cannot extract files from a Retrospect backup except using the software since Retrospect did not normally make a file by file backup rather it created an archive of the files in the backup. I'm assuming that the EMC/Retrospect people have told you that old Retrospect backups are not accessible by Retrospect 8.x?
