I do not understand what iTunes on your computer has to do with the iBooks app in your iPod.
You can only read iBooks on an Apple computer with the newers, Mavericks, operating system.
You can redownload the iBooks app for the iPod by:

FORCE IPAD INTO RECOVERY MODE
1. Turn off iPad
2. Turn on computer and launch iTunes (make sure you have the latest version of iTune)
3. Plug USB cable into computer's USB port
4. Hold Home button down and plug the other end of cable into docking port.
DO NOT RELEASE BUTTON until you see picture of iTunes and plug
5. Release Home button.
ON COMPUTER
6. iTunes has detected iPad in recovery mode. You must restore this iPad before it can be used with iTunes.
7. Select "Restore iPad"...

1. Data will be lost if you do not have backup
2. You must follow step 1 to step 4 VERY CLOSELY.
3. Repeat the process if necessary.

Updated my iPod and all the music that was on it got deleted.

I plugged my iPod in to update it as usual, but when it said it was complete and I unplugged it.. I realized all the music on my iPod is GONE. Nothing is left on it at all.

If your iPod still has the files on it, but it's not showing them under songs, I think you can do this;
First, Set it to Disk Mode by;
Hold, then un-Hold (the switch at the top). Now hold down the Menu and Select buttons at once. iPod should turn off. When it's turning back on (it does this automatically), hold down Select and Play/Pause. This enters Disk Mode.
Now, Plug In and Delete;
Access the iPod as a hard drive and delete everything there. Make sure you can see the iPod_Control folder - delete that as well.
Finally;
Eject the iPod Drive, and hold down Menu and Select to exit disk mode. Let it reboot, connect to your computer, use iTunes to restore. Then, reload your music onto your iPod using your iTunes library.

It should be Noted that anything Downloaded with a Particular Apple ID is tied to that Apple ID and Cannot be Merged or Transferred to a Different Apple ID.

How to make the bookmarks bar JUST text and without the "Bookmarks" drop down and make the other bar have text with pictures? How to download a previous version of firefox?

The option is to set text, text and pictures, or pictures but it affects both bars and how to get the old version back because I just wanted a stupid addon that I didn't even need and now is firefox just stuck this way. The Home button would show as text ("Home") with the style change, as for Refresh ("F5") and Stop("Esc") the keyboard shortcuts work better for me anyway and have never included them on my toolbars. I keep the Home button to the left of the Location bar anyway so it shows an icon.

Have you tried rebooting the device? Hold down on the sleep and home buttons until the Apple logo appears on the screen. If this fails, connect it to a power source and try again holding them for at least 20 seconds.
Restore
Turn off device – Hold down the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds until the red slider appears, then slide the red slider.
Open iTunes on your computer.

You updated your ipod without making sure that everything purchased on the ipod was transferred to the computer? Not wise.
You get one download and one download only. You can try contacting itunes support and asking for an exception. They are under no obligation to allow, but it is your only option.
