I have no idea how to figure out what generation my macbook air is and i am currently looking to buy a protective case for it but would like to know the generation of my mac to make sure it fits snug.

  • How can i tell what generation of ipod shuffle I have?

We have various ipods and I need to know what generation of ipod shuffle we have.  How can if tell?

This document about resetting the iPod shuffle shows a picture of the four types.
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1655
1st gen - It is white plastic and looks like a USB "thumb drive."  It as a full USB connector on it, so you don't need a cable to connect it to the computer.
2nd gen - It is a clip-on design.  It has separate switches for setting playback order (shuffle or in order) and for turning ON/OFF.
3rd gen - It is a narrow clip-on design, with no playback control buttons on the shuffle itself.  You use the "remote control" buttons on the ear buds cord.  It has the new VoiceOver feature.
4th gen - Apple went back to the 2nd gen style, except smaller.  It has only one switch that is both for setting playback order (shuffle or in order) and turning ON/OFF, plus a small VoiceOver button (for using the VoiceOver feature introduced in 3rd gen)

  • How can I tell what generation iPad I have?

    Hi there:
I was first and foremost wondering what kind/generation of iPad I own:
    Model number:  MB292LL
    Serial number: GB0393LJZ38
Secondly, depending on that info, I was wondering how much this iPad now costs (a hyperlink would be great) and third, what kind of keyboard (Zaragoza or Taurus) is compatible with it?  I would like an internal physical keyboard that holds an iPad vs something that externally connects to the iPad).  Let me know if there are any other details I can provide.

You can google the model number
    Amazon.com: Apple iPad (first generation) MB292LL/A Tablet (16GB ...
    www.amazon.com › Electronics › Computers & Add-Ons › Tablets
    Rating: 3.9 - 730 reviews - $485.00 - In stock
Amazon.com: Apple iPad (first generation) MB292LL/A Tablet (16GB, Wifi): Computers & Accessories.
So you have an I pad 1.  See the price above.
There are a gazillion keyboards availble.  Read some reviews and pick what you want
I have a brookstone case with built in keyboard.  I hate it.  So skip that one.
( for what it's worth, after a while you get used to the on screen keyboard and don't really need the external.)

  • How can I tell what "Generation" Apple TV do I have?

    How do I find out?
Also, I'm sure it's not "HD", I've been converting DVD's over to Apple TV (720) setting and they work fine. I plan on eventually getting an HD Apple TV. If I start converting DVD's to Apple TV (1080) now, will they be apple to play on this current Apple TV until I get a new one. I know they won't be in (1080) but will they still play? I'm asking this to save time. But I'll probable experiement and find out myself, Just figured I might get a quick response before I get around to testing it.
    Thanks!

the first 1 was alu and big unlike the new ones which are black and plastic
