I recive a message to close firefox when I try to open it, but I don't see any open window???
Sometimes I try to open a web page and receive a message that Firefox is already running and that I should close it before going to the new web page, I can not see any sign of an open window and am unable to do so. I have to restart my laptop. Suggestions?? Many thx.
Its probably because you have just closed another session of firefox and the cookies did not clear. you should do a ctrl-alt-del go to processes click on firefox and again on end task. this should fix your problem.

Every time I try to sign on, I only could type USER ID but I don't see any place I can type in password. It leads me automatically click on sign on, then it is always error message that I had wrong ID or password or if I forgot. I didn't forget my password. I have problem to see the place where I should type in password. There were not around sign on screen. Where is it?

Every morning I click on the Firefox icon and it opens. Today it will not. When I try to reinstall it, a message appears that Firefox is already open. But I cannot see it. I am uanble to open or close firefox. I usually use firefox. When I updated or download something it disable firefox. Last change July 5, 2011. I have tried downloading it a gain but it states I have existing program that is open and won't let me run it. Help. I love and trust firefox
Try holding control, alt and delete down in succession and then a dialogue box will appear with windows task manager. Once open click on the Processes Tab and look for firefox.exe. Highlight this and then click end process. It should come up with a warning but just click Yes. This should then close firefox and allow you to reopen it from your desktop without shutting down your computer. Hope this helps.

Just got a I Phone 4. I typed my wifi password to connect to my wifi but don't see a "connect" button or "enter". I tried "join" but it did nothing? How do I connect to my wi-fi so I don't use cell minutes when at home? Also, How do I know for sure by looking at the phone if the phone is utilizing the wi-fi versus cellular data minutes?
You need to read the manual.
If you are connected to wi-fi, you will see the wi-fi symbol instead of "3G" by the signal strength bar.

My photo stream is shown on my iphone and ipad but when i log into icloud on my pc i dont see photos as an option.
Photo stream photos are not available on icloud.com. If you want to view your photos on the web from a computer browser, you have to add them to a shared stream with the "public website" option enabled (see http://help.apple.com/icloud/#/mmc0cd7e99). This will give you a private web to use and/or share with other for viewing them on the web.

Do you have the "Green Arrow" icon on one of your toolbars? That usually will list your most recent downloads with a button to open the folder where they are saved.
If you don't have that, you can open the full download list using either:
* Ctrl+j
* Tools > Downloads
* History > Show All History, then click Downloads in the left column
Can you find the download listed there and click the "Open Containing Folder" button?
Are you downloading Flash or Acrobat/Reader?

For Acrobat/Reader, you may not need an update.
Firefox's plugin check site only recognizes the Adobe XI (11) series as current, but if you have checked for updates in your Adobe Reader X or Adobe Acrobat X product (Help > Check for Updates) then you do not need to update the plugin. The Check Your Plugins program I run for Firefox 3.6.13 under WXP gives me an orange button stating that the Adobe PDF plugin is outdated and suggests I click to update, but when I do so I do am not taken to an update for the plugin but to a download of 47MB for Adobe Reader X. I find nothing about an updated plugin on the Adobe site or under Adobe downloads. Surely this plugin is not a 47MB program.
TonyE is correct the plugin version comes with Adobe's Reader X.
The failure in communication is two parted:
1. Reader X is not Acrobat (Mozilla Plugin Checker)
2. Acrobat is not mentioned in the Reader X download Page (Adobe)

What do i do
Actually I simply would uninstall anything related to Adobe AIR, including AMP or the Acrobat.com widget. If you just uninstall AMP, one of ther others is going to bite you in your behind. It's a flwa in the installer that does not correctly detect and handle outdated versions of Adobe AIR.

When I try to download Firefox 4.0. I get a message to "close Firefox then continue," even though it is already closed.
Its probable still running in the background. Hold Ctrl, Alt and Del, then when task managers pops up, go to the process tab, look for firefox.exe, select it then press end process bottom right.

When I go into my daughter's account and try to launch Firefox (she was previously using Safari) an error message pops up indicating to "Close Firefox: A copy of Firefox is already open. Only one copy of Firefox can be open at a time." Except that I don't see an open copy of the app, unless it somehow is launched at login, a setting I don't see either. Firefox works fine on other user accounts.
Is there still a default profile folder present?
