Is there some way the ios7 UI can be fixed so that I don't regret upgrading every time I use my phone?

I upgraded to ios7 today not particularly knowing what it was and having not really paid much attention to tech news (I'm in PhD program in history, so current events sometimes escape my notice. I personally find the new user interface with its arbitrarily changed tacky flat design utterly ghastly. I may have disturbed my neighbors with my screaming. The icons no longer match my computer, and heaven forfend some future OSX will will make my computer match them. Generally the whole thing looks much more like some budget cell phone I would get free with my cellular plan. I have owned five apple computers, three ipods, and iPad mini and two iPhones and this is the first time I have ever regretted an upgrade, or seriously considered ending my affiliation with the companies products, as, fairly or unfairly, I feel like the user interface I knew and was accustomed to as been stolen from me out of naught but corporate hubris. Sheer familiarity has been one of the cornerstone of my love for apple products, and while they have changed often over the years, it has previously never seemed so radical, save in original switch to OSX which it seems to me was both a much more gradual process and a more aethetically pleasing change.
I've had an iPhone since 2010, this is the first time I've really been unhappy with it. Can I rid my phone of this accursed ios7? If not how do I revert the UI as much as possible? Can I even just get the old icons back?

I was just glad to be out history at last with the new icons (PhD atomphysics) : even if you make up to do the road to Canossa you are a 1000 years too late, you can not go back..

In the beginning of the winter beware of Mavericks, it will make an end to your dream.
You can alleviate your fall forward a little bit in the Settings/General/Acessibility, but just a very little bit.

1. This procedure is a diagnostic test. It changes nothing, for better or worse, and therefore will not, in itself, solve the problem. But with the aid of the test results, the solution may take a few minutes, instead of hours or days.
Don't be put off by the complexity of these instructions. The process is much less complicated than the description. You do harder tasks with the computer all the time.
2. If you don't already have a current backup, back up all data before doing anything else. The backup is necessary on general principle, not because of anything in the test procedure. Backup is always a must, and when you're having any kind of trouble with the computer, you may be at higher than usual risk of losing data, whether you follow these instructions or not.
There are ways to back up a computer that isn't fully functional. Ask if you need guidance.
3. Below are instructions to run a UNIX shell script, a type of program. As I wrote above, it changes nothing. It doesn't send or receive any data on the network. All it does is to generate a human-readable report on the state of the computer. That report goes nowhere unless you choose to share it. If you prefer, you can act on it yourself without disclosing the contents to me or anyone else.
You should be wondering whether you can believe me, and whether it's safe to run a program at the behest of a stranger. In general, no, it's not safe and I don't encourage it.
In this case, however, there are a couple of ways for you to decide whether the program is safe without having to trust me. First, you can read it. Unlike an application that you download and click to run, it's transparent, so anyone with the necessary skill can verify what it does.
You may not be able to understand the script yourself. But variations of the script have been posted on this website thousands of times over a period of years. The site is hosted by Apple, which does not allow it to be used to distribute harmful software. Any one of the millions of registered users could have read the script and raised the alarm if it was harmful. Then I would not be here now and you would not be reading this message.
Nevertheless, if you can't satisfy yourself that these instructions are safe, don't follow them. Ask for other options.
4. Here's a summary of what you need to do, if you choose to proceed:
☞ Copy a line of text in this window to the Clipboard.
☞ Paste into the window of another application.
☞ Wait for the test to run. It usually takes a few minutes.
☞ Paste the results, which will have been copied automatically, back into a reply on this page.
The sequence is: copy, paste, wait, paste again. You don't need to copy a second time. Details follow.
5. You may have started the computer in "safe" mode. Preferably, these steps should be taken in “normal” mode, under the conditions in which the problem is reproduced. If the system is now in safe mode and works well enough in normal mode to run the test, restart as usual. If you can only test in safe mode, do that.
6. If you have more than one user, and the one affected by the problem is not an administrator, then please run the test twice: once while logged in as the affected user, and once as an administrator. The results may be different. The user that is created automatically on a new computer when you start it for the first time is an administrator. If you can't log in as an administrator, test as the affected user. Most personal Macs have only one user, and in that case this section doesn’t apply. Don't log in as root.
7. The script is a single long line, all of which must be selected. You can accomplish this easily by triple-clicking anywhere in the line. The whole line will highlight, though you may not see all of it in the browser window, and you can then copy it. If you try to select the line by dragging across the part you can see, you won't get all of it.

Copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C.
8. Launch the built-in Terminal application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Terminal in the icon grid.
Click anywhere in the Terminal window and paste by pressing command-V. The text you pasted should vanish immediately. If it doesn't, press the return key.
9. If you see an error message in the Terminal window such as "Syntax error" or "Event not found," enter
exec bash
and press return. Then paste the script again.
10. If you're logged in as an administrator, you'll be prompted for your login password. Nothing will be displayed when you type it. You will not see the usual dots in place of typed characters. Make sure caps lock is off. Type carefully and then press return. You may get a one-time warning to be careful. If you make three failed attempts to enter the password, the test will run anyway, but it will produce less information. In most cases, the difference is not important. If you don't know the password, or if you prefer not to enter it, press the key combination control-C or just press return three times at the password prompt. Again, the script will still run.
If you're not logged in as an administrator, you won't be prompted for a password. The test will still run. It just won't do anything that requires administrator privileges.
11. The test may take a few minutes to run, depending on how many files you have and the speed of the computer. A computer that's abnormally slow may take longer to run the test. While it's running, there will be nothing in the Terminal window and no indication of progress. Wait for the line
[Process completed]
to appear. If you don't see it within half an hour or so, the test probably won't complete in a reasonable time. In that case, close the Terminal window and report what happened. No harm will be done.
12. When the test is complete, quit Terminal. The results will have been copied to the Clipboard automatically. They are not shown in the Terminal window. Please don't copy anything from there. All you have to do is start a reply to this comment and then paste by pressing command-V again.
At the top of the results, there will be a line that begins with the words "Start time." If you don't see that, but instead see a mass of gibberish, you didn't wait for the "Process completed" message to appear in the Terminal window. Please wait for it and try again.
If any private information, such as your name or email address, appears in the results, anonymize it before posting. Usually that won't be necessary.
13. When you post the results, you might see an error message on the web page: "You have included content in your post that is not permitted," or "You are not authorized to post." That's a bug in the forum software. Please post the test results on Pastebin, then post a link here to the page you created.

I am leaving firefox for Mac Version 1602 as it freezes and crashes all the time, for Google Chrome which does not. I do this with regret

I give up. I was ok with version 16.0 and firefox 16.02 was automatically downloaded to y Mac Book Pro Version 10.8.2 Mountain Lion. I would like to go back to Firefox 15.0. How can I do this? If this cannot be done, I will uninstall Firefox 16.02 and only use the Chrome and Safari Browsers. I have been using Firefox for more than 10 years and I leave Firefox with great regret. You simply cannot compete with Google Chrome.

I REGRET CHOOSING THE 5800XM

I know some of you are in love with it but there's a whole lot of others who'll agree with me on this one. My 5800XM is one of the worst in history, what happened to customer satisfaction? The fone crashes a lot, the photo gallery shows no photos but I can view the photo indivisually in file manager, the music player doesn't refresh & songs disappear from the library while still available in file manager, you have to pay for plenty of applications which are normally free (i.e: PDF reader, quickoffice, etc.), I initially taught that as a smartphone it was supposed to come bundled with those apps but it wasn't. I really regret it, I wish i'd opted 4 a Sony Ericsson or Samsung. I tot of upgrading to the N97 but with it's own problems that I caught up with here, I guess it's goodbye to my 10 year long relationship with NOKIA.

Lets see
- phone crashes - mine never did, but then again the first batches of the 5800 was problematic (or due to problematic firmware installation)
- Photo Gallery shows no photos - a common problem with corrupted cards. A virus from the PC may have set the pics to become invisible. It can be seen in a PC where viewing invisible files are enabled, but not on the 5800. Just set the pics to visible on the PC and reformat the card to get rid of the corruption
- PDF, quickoffice etc - its not the 5800's or Nokia's fault. If you go to the Adobe or Quick website these things arent free. They sell it and not provide it free. Even if you went for Satio from SE or Samsungs's Omnia HD you'd still pay for those stuff. Even if it was a smartphone, its also xpressmusic which by standard even when using s60v3 does not have these office apps bundled as it is targeted at a market of people who do not use these things a lot (teenagers), as of the moment AFAIK only the n97 and the mini get it bundled. All other s60v5 (5530, 5320) does not have it bundled. If you went for an s60v3 phone though, like n86, n85, these are available for free. So dont get mad at Nokia for this. One of the reasons why its cheap is that they did not pay for the licenses. It would be more expensive if they did. Getting an SE or Samsung with the same OS wouldnt help. You'd still be in the same situation.
- If you are buying an SE for the same amount you dished out for the 5800, you'll be getting a dummyphone with no option to get PDF or quickoffice even if you paid for it, or an old outdated smartphone probably to get those. For samsung, this one would have been a decent alternative, although you might get less features for a similar priced phone which runs s60 as well. For a WinMo samsung you'll have to choose an older model or shell out more.

Huge regret on my end. Should have preordered elsewhere. Still remember the big smile on my face when leaving the BB on June 15th. If the mobile manager said I would get one on June 24, who was I to argue. So thankful for the FAQ so I could have my expectations properly managed after the fact.
I have said it before. If we confirm that the average BB store is receiving plus or minus 5 units for launch, then regardless of finger pointing, the blames lies not only with Apple, but with BB for allowing it to happen.
LOL, anyone here planning to stand in line at an Apple store? I am mentally preparing for a 5am arrival.
Incidentally, I just checked status at my BB store #358 in Henderson NV. They have not received their shipment yet but the manager was "not aware" of any impending shortage. I told her I was #18 overall for a 32gb Black and she said I should be fine. Either she is grossly misinformed, or I am. Either way, with multiple reports coming in from stores receiving 5 phones, I do not have much faith in the manager's reassurances. I am just wondering why they are still so confidently telling customers what they want to hear. It will just be that much uglier if and when the opposite happens.

I feel the same way also. I am a Keynote poweruser—frequently using Photoshop to design individual elements with custom alpha transparencies and then using Keynote to composite everything together—and I can't help feel that this has been a major "downgrade". It does feel like Apple is trying to make the Mac version of Keynote match the iOS version. But I feel that that is a big mistake. A touch interface and a keyboard/trackpad interface are vastly different and each bring with them their own efficiencies and challenges. By trying to make the Mac version more like the iOS, we lose much of the efficiencies that make the Mac version special. I'm actually pretty depressed about this move. Until Apple upgrades Keynote 2013 at least to parity with the old version, I'm sticking with the old version which I still think is the world's most magnificent presentation program ever created!

That's not the thing. What is GSM going to do why YouTube playback? Sounds like your connection is very slow, otherwise YouTube works perfectly. Have you tried asking Globe?

Just ordered full package and regretting it alread...

Hi All,
I had a sign on for this community because i had BT sports through Sky.
I cancelled Sky and ordered a full package with BT around 3 hours ago and i am regretting this decision already.
One of the draws was the £150 Sainsburys vouchers, i forgot to ask about it on the phone and the operator never either.
I asked to retian my phone number and the operator says that was okay, i got the order though via email and it states my 'new number'
I call them and get told "i will pass you through to the relevent department" yes you guessed it - Bangladesh struggled to explain for a few minutes before being told i will have to cancel the whole order and re-order. I couldn't go through the broken English conversation for the whole order again.
Is this what i have to look forard to for the next 12 months? I am really considering knocking it on the head now.

Biller Direct Error "We regret the service is not currently available"

We have installed Biller Direct software (604 SP10) on our Java server (701 SP8) and it is connected to R/3 backend system (702 SP5). After Biller Direct software installation, we ran the following steps
1. Login to biller direct url
2. Leave blank in all fields (Customer No, Name and City) then click Find Customer
3. It lists few customers list, then when we click any of description for CustomerNo it displayed the following error.
"We regret the service is not currently available. Please try again later."
In the default traces we have seen the following error details:

Please logoff the system and restart the system again and then check.Also check what is the CRM package that you are using.Check wheather CRM 4.0 60.2.3 package is there or not.
The following tables should be configured,or you will get this sort of errors.This configuration should be done in the backend by FI
