I reinstalled Photoshop Elements 6 and...

Question

...My brushes changed. Not one's I'd downloaded before, but the one's you originally get with it. When it was one my old laptop, I used the 2nd In the Deafult Brushes, and I used it for rough sketches AND lining, and it always came out something like http://britishwolfy101.deviantart.com/gallery/#/d36nac4. (not the best artist ever)
But now, If I use the same brush I don't get anything near as smooth.
And as stupid as it sounds, I can't even sketch something, and if I manage that, when I get the the final lines it ins't 'smooth' so much as it used to be, and takes on a more pixeled look, and only looks right on a certain zoom level. It means I can't draw so freely, and I can't think of why it's changed, unless I was actually using a different brush in the first place.
But it's also happened with the brush I use for shading. Still in Deafult brushes, it's 4 row, 3rd in, and now it's just a block of color, where as it used to create effects like the shading in the above drawing. It's just a block of color now.
It sounds stupid, I know, but without these 2 brushes I can't really draw with the freeness I used to, and any attempts I make just frustrate me. A trust me, I'd really like to get back to drawing again, besides wanting to get better, I don't want to have to regret getting a new laptop.
Oh, and if it makes any difference, I use a tablet to draw, it could be something to to with the pen, but I'd ask here first just in case.

If you still have the old laptop, then check the brush settings and compare
with the ones on your new computer.
If you don't have pse6 still installed on the old laptop, then try some
different settings for the brushes. You may have set them to something
other than the default settings on the old laptop.
