I renamed my picture file, now I can't find my photos. Where did my photos go?

I wanted to check if my back up was really working, so i rename my file, it say this file don't exist, do you want to create it? I click yes, then all my pictures are gone, when i open iPhoto it show 0 pictures, help me pls, Im going crazy, my 2 generations family picture are there.

Is there a way of telling Logic that it's the same drive?
Choose Go to Folder from the Finder's Go menu, enter /Volumes/ as the path, and move any folders inside to the desktop; when done, unmount and remount the drive from the Disk Utility in the /Applications/Utilities/ folder.

Since you just recently bought your Mac, you have AppleCare - this means that, for the first 90 days, you can phone Apple with any question. Give them a call and they will help you find the files. Usually, they put files in their respective locations - desktop files on the desktop, Files from My Documents in Documents, etc.

HT3209 I downloaded movies in hd..they downloaded and now I can't find them. Where they go.

Now I can't find them, keeps telling me I need to change my plan. I can't even see one movie.

Downloaded movies can be found in the Videos App on the iPad. No clue what the message about changing your plan might be.

I locked my N79 files, now I can't find them on ph...

I used Sonica to lock my Images, My Videos, and Videos files on my N79. Then instead of me being able to open them but be asked for a Password, I couldn't find them at all. Then I unlocked them and they were back (I think).
Then I got this Java locker, and locked them. The same problem persisted, Then when I tried unlocking them, but it kept saying something like "Error, file can't be located" or something like that. I uninstalled it but still can't find my files. I can see them fine on the PC but not on the phone itself.
These are the files on my microSD card, so maybe there's a problem with it I can fix? Pictures I newly take appear on the Phone but I can't access those folders via File Manager. Also, 6 images that I moved from the Phone to the microSD card appear as broken images on the Phone, but they can't be found on the Phone images memory via File Manager. Which is odd. I edited the pictures by renaming them via File Manager, as I didn't add ".jpg" they became broken files. When I added ".jpg" they became fine.
All my images, even the newly taken ones, by this I mean after the locking incidence, are perfectly fine and available via my PC. What my aim was was to lock my Photos with a code. That's failed as my Pictures can still be access via the icon/Gallery, but aren't available through File Manager.
What can I do you fix this so I can access Images, My Videos and Videos, again via File Manager.
Is there an on-board way I can Pin Lock my Files?

I re-fromatted the card, loosing all my files Stupid me didn't save them on pc. argh! It wasn't much anyway, just sentimental... Anyway, it should be fixed now.

I just got an iPad 2 this week. I tried to download a movie from iTunes. I selected it and clicked buy, but then nothing happened. I tried to rent another movie and it flow down to downloads, but then I couldn't find it anywhere. I have successfully downloaded songs though. Any help would be great. This is all new to me.

Unfortunately no - Photos use extensions and the vendor (adobe) will have to implement the extension to allow external edits in PS or PSE
For now you must export the photo, edit and then import - not great but a work arond
And you can continue to use iPhoto until Photos meets your needs - launch it in your applications folder - if you need assistance on this see Why won't my iPhotos open?

two files would show up in "images".
Do you mean in the All Images search in the Finder?
IF so:
1.Never interact with photos that are in iPhoto via the All Images Search. This does not understand the iPhoto Library and it's very, very easy to damage the library this way.
2. What you were seeing was the original file you imported and the thumbnail created by iPhoto for viewing on the iPhoto Window. That thumbnail is not designed for user access.
What are you trying to do ultimately?

Why has iTunes taken over the iPhoto file? I can not attach pictures to files because I can not find them. I can not upload pictures to software like Shutterfly for the same reason.

This has happened suddenly as if there were some keystrokes that changed the previous pattern. I am not able to upload pictures to programs such as Shutterfly because I can not find them. When I try to upload, the computer takes me to an iTunes folder.
