I rented a movie and transferred to iphone, but when I transferred back it didn't work. it still show in itune on my ohone, but no on the actual phone. it won't transfer and I can' find or watch it on my phone now.

HT1498 rented a movie then stopes for a moment when I go back it tells me to dowload it?

I have rented a movie. i stoped watching it on my apple tv. When I tried to play it again it asks me to dowload the movie. It tells me to go to settings and download it. My settings does not have this option. It has rented movies but It just stayes there searching and searching..... What a mess. I want to continue wathing the movie that simple. Please help.

Welcome to the Apple community George.
A number of people have reported similar issues recently, many appear to have found a discrepancy of some kind in their account settings and making changes to these settings or simply resetting them has resolved the matter.
Check your account details are correct, check that you are using the correct details for Location, Region and Time Zone. You may want to change these settings and then change them back to see if that helps.
You might also try logging out of and then back into your iTunes account (Settings > iTunes Store > Apple ID’s > Sign Out) and restarting your router. (Some have reported that after doing this, they need to check for rentals even though it may report that there aren’t any, after which rentals once again appear in the ‘movies’ feature)
Rentals should appear under their own heading in the ‘Movies’ feature, you might also check at Settings > iTunes Store > Check For Rentals.

Yes. Get an adapter from the mini display port to HDMI and connect the HDMI cable to the TV. For audio you will need a separate connectors from you audio output port to the RCA connectors on the back of your TV. Use an extension and a 'Y' connector. If you MBP is a 2011 model then it will also transfer audio and a separate cable is not needed.

HT1657 after renting a move and starting viewing I can not stop it and come back to in within the time frame. If i stop it it goes away not able to find it. Just like I did not rent it at all.

We have rolled out a fix for this issue.
Please log off and log back in to your machine and the issue should be resolved automatically. In case that does not work, please manually run the msi installer posted here (may require reboot).

What did you download it on ? If a computer's iTunes then do you have a 'rentals' tab in the Movies part of your library ? If on an iOS device then it should be in the Videos app (if it's not showing there then have you got a film age rating set in Restrictions that is hiding it ?).

Prior to going you can rent and download them on your iPad via its iTunes store app, or rent and download them on your computer's iTunes and connect and your iPad and move them to it - they will go in the iPad's Videos app.
Some people have posted that they need to start playing rentals whilst they still have internet connection, so you may want to watch a few seconds prior to going offline - you have 24 hours if you are in the US, 48 hours elsewhere, after starting to watch a rental before it expires.

I had the same issue with my apple tv 3rd generation. I rented Sinister and selected the "rent and watch now" option. Half way through the movie I accidentally pressed the menu button. When I looked for the rented movie on my apple tv I could not find it. Not even above the movie pannel where "purchased" and "top movies" comes up on the main menu. the apple tv suggests to go to settings>downloads but I don't have that option. I did go to settings> itunes store> check rentals but that didnt work either. It took too long to even check. Thank you because this SOLUTION worked great.
SOLUTION: How to reset apple tv 3 3rd generation to view rented movies:on the apple tv remote: press and hold "menu" to go to the main menu. Select SETTINGS> GENERAL >RESET >RESET ALL SETTINGS. After the apple tv resets, input all your information again and your rented movies should be visible when you cruise above the "movies" section. THANK YOU!!
Apple needs to solve this issue because honestly it took me 3 hours and a half to watch a movie that only lasted 2 BECAUSE I wast trying to solve the issue, reseting and all. blahh.
