The only way to find that out is to ask them.

$269 at an Apple Store, unless you purchased Apple Care Plus. They will replace the entire iPhone.

  • HT4061 Can Apple replace my iPhone 5 charger

Can Apple store replace my iPhone 5 charger stopped working..this one is not the one i got with the iPhone..is another Apple iPhone 5 charger i got forma walmart..will the y replace it.

    Hi Marvito,
If the charger that came with your iPhone is defective, and it is within the warranty period, they would replace it. They will not replace a charger that you purchased from WalMart. Why not ask WalMart to replace it?

  • IPhone 5 charging port has gold strips sticking up inside it, and now it won't charge

I dropped my phone in the toilet yesterday, and it half submerged into the water (the water reached just beneath the sim card slot). I took it out of the toilet immediately and pressed down the lock button and slid it to power off. I then put it in a bowl full of rice (standing upright so no water inside could make it's way up to the top part of the phone). After 16 hours I turned it on and it worked perfectly fine, no damage at all (very lucky). However when it died and I went to charge it I realised a bit of rice was stuck inside the charging port. So with a clip I kept jabbing at the piece of rice until I got it out. Now I've come to charge it and it won't work. When I shine a flashlight into it I can see there are gold strips sticking up instead of them being pushed down into the phone. I think this happened from accidently pulling some up with the clip. Does anyone know how to fix this problem? How much will apple charge to repair the charging port?
-the water sensor indicator inside the sim tray is still completely white, and inside the headphone jack and charging port I can't see any indicators at all
-the phone is 5 months old on a 2 year contract with 3
If you have any idea's or solutions please leave them below, thanks!

Yes, you probably destroyed the connector with your probing. Apple will replace the phone for $269. Unless you can convince them it should be covered by warranty (and your warranty is still in effect). If it is out of warranty an independent repair shop may be able to replace the lightning connector.

  • Is Apple going to address the issue with the IPhone 5 charger port?

    Hi all
I have had an IPhone for about 4 years and have had my current iPhone 5 for just over a year,I never had any problems until recently. Just before Christmas I started having issues with my IPhone not charging, I bought a new charger and the problem continued so I went into the Apple store in Newcastle, they pulled some dust out of the charger port and the issue appeared to be resolved. However after Christmas it happened again, and again I went to the Apple store, they did the same thing and the phone worked fine for a month. However, this last week the problem has come back, this time when I took the phone into the store, they tried pulling dust out the port but the phone would still not charge, I was then told that as the phone is out of warranty there is nothing they can do other than charge me £209 to fix it!!
What concerns me is that after speaking to other iPhone users and doing some online research I have discovered this is a seriously common problem. So now through no fault of my own, I am left with a phone, which doesn't work and costs me £48 a month. Another concern is that I originally took the phone to the store with this problem before my warranty ran out and was given a 'temporary fix', which made the phone last untill just after my warranty has ran out!
I am angry and disappointed, this issue needs to be addressed as the Phones appear to be like a ticking time bomb waiting to break, and for those of you like me, who this happens to you after the warranty is up, you are elft with no solution other than to pay £209!!!!

Or talk to the store manager or Apple Customer Relations and explain that you brought the phone in twice before the warranthy expired for the same problem and that there was no permanent solution, though if clearing out the debris fixed it previously, it's perhaps unlikely that they'll think it a defect. You can try, though. Just complaining here will accomplish nothing since we're all fellow users in these forums.
    Regards.

  • Iphone 4 charger port

My charger port seems to have stopped working suddenly. I have tried charging it with different chargers so it's not that, I have also tried doing a hard reset which doesn't work either. I even tried to clean out the insides in case there was dust or fluff but nothing works.
Will I have to bring it to the apple store then? If so, my phone is still under warranty, would they fix the port itself or just give me a new phone? I'd rather keep the phone I have.  And how long would this take?
Also, would they delete everything on your phone before fixing it?  I have personal data on there that I don't want to lose (didn't back up on icloud).
    Thanks!

They will replace the phone. Stores have no facilities for repair except for battery replacement and glass replacement on the iPhone 5 and later.
Is it really still in warranty? You can check here: https://selfsolve.apple.com/agreementWarrantyDynamic.do

  • IPhone 3gs charger port melted and home button is super hard

My iPhone was charging over night and in the morning I found that charger and the iPhone was melting and now it doesn't turn on and doesn't charge what do I do now?

Make an appointment at an Apple store, if still under warranty all will be replaced if determined to be a hardware failure not caused by user misuse. If you're out of warranty, Apple offers an out of warranty replacement program, the cost in the US is $199.

  • Soap gel in iPhone 4 charging port

Soap gel entered in the charging port of my iPhone 4 . I tried drying it with tissue . Kept in rice for 10 hrs . Sound is gone . I cannot make  the volume buttons make any change on the ringer icon !! No music can be heard . Phone seems to work like in silent mode !! Please help .

Sure, as long as the paper doesn't tear and leave a piece behind. A new toothbrush is the preferred cleaning tool. Or a blast from a can of air.

  • Broken Iphone 5 Charge Port

One morning I put my phone on charge as normal but it wouldnt recongize the charger and didnt charge at all. I took it to my local phone shop to have a look to see if it was the charger or the phone. He said it was the charge port so next step I phoned apple its under warranty and i sent it away to get sorted.
I recently got and email saying I could get my phone back broken or pay £180 !!!
After calling i got told that it was my fault it was broken as a pin inside the charge port was broken !! and iv only had the phone a month.
can anyone recommend what i can do now ?
Dont i have some rights under the "Sales of goods act" as its not fit for purpose
    Thanks

Bring your phone to Apple for evaluation.

  • Will Apple replace my iPhone 5 charger under the 1 year warranty?

My iphone 5 charger has been acting weird lately. It charges my phone only if i hold it in a certain position and if I move it it will stop charging, and it goes on and off. Is this considered a defected charger that Apple can replace? I'm still under the 1 year warranty as I had gotten my phone late 2013.

I would definitely make an appointment but the nearest Apple store to me is a bit far, trying to get some insight before i decide to make an appointment. Thank you though

  • Corrosion build up on iPhone 3Gs charging port.

Possibly from cord shorting out. Giving the 'This device not made to charge' message when plugged in. Works on car charger. Any advice on cleaning aqua green build up on charging port at bottom of phone?

    Hi,
You can try using a small brush, like a toothbrush, to remove any debris or light corrosion.
This article: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3302 describes corrosion that can be caused by water damage.

  • Belkin Dock damaged my iPhone's charging port?

I bought a Belkin Charge + Sync Dock for my iPhone 5 (the one that includes the cable) in February. It was a flimsy, crappy device from the start, but I figured I might as well use it.
Four months have passed and now the lightning port on my iPhone 5 has started to deteriorate very quickly and noticibly. I would only charge my phone with the dock and I wouldn't use the lightning cable that came with my phone or any other cord for that matter. I went on a trip so I took my lightning cable with me and it would only charge at an odd angle. I also noticed the plug was very loose inside the port. This became true with the dock as well. The dock was flimsy and wobbly at the start and now would only charge at a very odd angle too.
Any cord I use barely works, and my phone does not charge at night anymore. I know it is not a problem with my cords, because I tried my friend's cords and they also did not work. I know the dock ruined my port because that was the only thing I charged with for four months.
Who should I go to for help? Should I call Belkin and ask for a return?
Would my Apple 1-year limited warranty (I do not have AppleCare) cover a new phone?

Contact Belkin and report the issue, see what they will do for you.
The Apple warranty does not cover damage which is exactly what has occurred.

  • I replaced my iPhone screen myself and now my phone is over heating. i have no idea if its under warranty and if so will apple do anything even though i took it apart?

So my iPhone screen cracked and i ordered a new screen to replace it. Finally when i finished i went to turn it on and the screen just stayed blank. I plugged it in and the apple symbol came up but then went off, and kept doing this. so i let it set for about an hour and tried again. it gave the charging symbol and just stayed on this for about half an hour. i unplugged it and when i did it just went off. after a while it did come back on but it began to overheat and the battery lasts about 45 minutes. i took the back off and its the logic board that is hot and not the battery. can this be fixed? i dont know if its under warranty but if it is will they replace it after the fact that i took it apart?
