  • Replaced the LCD screen on my iPod 4 touch and now have a white screen

My screen was cracked and I replaced it but now when I turn it on al i get is a white screen.  Even when i reboot it.  I have checked the cables and connectors but they all look good and are cnnected properly.  any thoughts?

Could be a bad backlight, poor connection to the backlight or the circuits on the logic board that control the backlight are bad.

  • Should I get a new LCD screen for my iPod?

Should I get a new LCD screen for my iPod 3gen because mine has a bad one? And should I get a new screen because mine is cracked?

  • Restarts after replacement of LCD screen

My Ipad Mini had a replacement of the LCD screen because it broke down into pieces.  After the Apple service dealer replaced it, the Ipad mini restarts when I open the protective Ipad smart cover (the one sold by Apple with the magnetic hinge that aligns to the left border) and put it completely backwards. When I do not use the smart cover, the problem does not occur at all.
Would someone tell me what is happening?

There are no Apple Authorized repair centers for iOS devices - no such thing exists or ever has.  So whomever repaired it for you is a private party service provider.  You should go back to them and tell them they did not actually fix it.
By having them work on it, you may well have negated any possible replacement by Apple (and Apple does not repair either, they replace damaged or defective items).

  • KDL-40EX720 horizontal thin lines that appear on screen after 10 minutes of turning on the TV

Hi, I have a KDL-40EX720 that is showing Horizontal Thin Lines on screen after around 10 minutes of turning on the TV (that is when TV is warm), this incident occured after three years of purchasing the TV so it is not covered anymore by the warranty policy or terms.
These thin lines are too many and very thin that seems that screen is partially showing blurred images, this means that my TV screen is split into a part that is like 80% of the screen and covered with these blurring thin lines while the 20% of the screen is still showing normal picture.
I tried several sources of input, to confirm that problem is not only from HDMI, but in all cases it is showing the same, even when you press on the menu button, the display is also affected by these lines.
I sent the TV to Sony Repair and Maintenance Center in my county Lebanon. They said that problem can be in T-CON board that is inside the TV screen, and they also said this board can't be replaced because it is built-in with the screen. Also they can't repair it.
They said that screen need to be replaced, but it will cost me around 600$ that is equal to the price of a new KDL-40W600.
It is obvious that my TV has a faulty component, and I need community support in letting me know what could be the cause of these horizontal thin lines, and if really T-CON board in KDL-40X720 can't be replaced or repaired.
     Thanks in Adcance.

  • Ipod doesnt turn on?

i connected my i pod to the computer when i was installing the itunes and it started to get hot and the lcd display slowly faded and turned off, and doesnt turn back on. tried to charge it and nothing happened, i also tried to reconnected to the computer and nothing happened.

A common problem which could have resulted in this, is a power spike going through the USB port to the iPod.
When iTunes looks for a connected iPod during installation, it could happen that a power spike occurs.
That is why you are advised not to connect your iPod when installing or updating iTunes. It says so in the manual.
Apple used to have a lot of those problems with previous iPod moddels and thus added that advice in the manual to cover their ***** when it happens again.
    Good luck with your iPod!

Dropping your iPod s not coverd by the warranty. You'll have to pay for the refurbished device:
Apple - Support - iPod - Repair pricing
Apple - Support - Service Answer Center
Out-of-Warranty Service: If your iPod requires service for any other hardware failure that is determined by Apple to be repairable, Apple will service your iPod for the Out-of-Warranty Repair Service fee.
If you want to set up your iPod for the Out-of-warranty service, we recommend that you take your iPod to a local Apple Retail Store. Alternatively, you can contact Apple Technical Support.

  • Will apple replace a broken screen if the iPod itself still works fine?

I dropped my iPod and the screen is totally shattered but the iPod itself still works with everyday use and it still syncs with my computer. Will apple replace this for free?

Apple does not repair iPods, but will replace the entire iPod for a flat fee (damage is not covered under the iPod's warranty); see the Repair Pricing section here:
    http://www.apple.com/support/ipod/service/faq/
There are independent iPod repair services that may be able to replace the screen for less. Do a web search for "ipod repair".

  • Will Apple replace my LCD Screen?

The 13" ALuminum macbook i bought in February shows "negative photo" effects if the lcd isn't tilted just right, especially when i watch movies/shows on the screen. Can apple replace this screen with one of the same screens in the 13" macbook pros?

You can speak to Apple but that type of effect ("negative photo" with change in viewing angle) is typical of nearly all of the 1st generation Aluminum MacBooks that were produced prior to about April of this year. Thus, it really isn't considered to be a defect for that generation of MacBook.

  • Replace an LCD screen

My ibook screen is broken and I want to fix it but I found just the part for $400 cheaper then it would be to have apple fix it. Does anyone know how I could fix it my self? Is it easy or hard?

How easy the job will be kind of depends on what, exactly, you're replacing. I replaced the entire display assembly on my iBook G4 and that was simple. I also replaced just the LCD on my Powerbook 12", and while I got the job done, it was pretty challenging.

  • HT5866 my screen on my 5C have crack n I need to replace the lcd screen with digitizer is this possible?

I need to replace my crack 5C screen, any help

If you are in the US, some Apple stores have the ability to replace a screen, some do not. If they can, the cost is only $149. If they cannot, then without Apple Care + you would need to purchase an out of warranty replacement at a cost of $269. If you do have Apple Care +. you can make 2 total exchanges over the 2 year life of Apple Care + with a $69 deductible.

  • How much does it cost to replace an LCD screen on an iPad that is not covered by warranty?

I recently discovered pressure cracks on my iPad. It must have happened when I placed my iPad in a bag with my textbooks. I am wondering what the cost is to replace the screen on an iPad or if I should invest in a new one.

    What version ipad is it?
    iPad model
    Out-of-Warranty Service Fee
    iPad mini
    $219
    iPad 3rd, 4th generation
    $299
    iPad 2, iPad
    $249

  • Has any one actually replaced an LCD screen themselves?

I've seen some articles on-line where a couple of people have actually replaced their broken LCDs on their laptops. I'm not that totally engineering techie. I got my 15" powerbook in 2005 and I love it. I don't want to get the one with the Intel chip.
Apple is charging $1200 whereas if you do it yourself, it's 1/3 the cost. I've hooked it up to an external monitor and the laptop outputs fine so I know it's purely the LCD that is cracked.
If any one has done if so it how hard is it?

You can find instructions on doing this here…
    http://www.ifixit.com/Guide/54.0.0.html
… so you can decide for yourself if it's something you want to do.
