If you suspect unauthorized access to your apple ID I would normally recommend resetting your password, but you have already done this.

Rephrase your question. Do you mean you keep getting login key chain errors?

If i changed my apple ID password will this ask for my new password on other devices connected to my Apple ID?

If You used the same Apple ID and password for Game Center that you used for all other Apple Services, yes he will need the password to continue to use the account. I can't swear to it, but I think that he will be prompted for the new password now since it was changed.

Doubtful it's malware ...
Try relaunching the Finder. Press Command + Option + Esc then select Finder in Force Quit window then click Restart.
If that doesn't help, launch the Terminal app located in HD > Applications > Utlities
Copy and paste this command into the Terminal window:
killall Dock then press Return or Enter on your keyboard.
The Dock will disappear for must a moment.
See if that made a difference.

Lpadmin - request for username and password - not responding correctly

Recently updated to a new computer and 10.5.7.
A printer was paused (somehow). Tried to resume printing and got a request for an lpadmin administrator user name and password. Mine is the only account on this computer. Put in my user name and password, but this was rejected. If I tried 3 times I was told to try later (and given my password hint). However, after clicking OK to this dialogue the action WAS taken.
Same thing happened when I tried to add a printer. It will not accept my username and password, but if I persist until I get the message to try again later, the printer WAS added.
So, I am back to having a printer, but this seems like a bug.

Keep getting requests for a WPA password

This problem only seems to have occurred since I got my new imac. We have a Belkin wireless router and I continuously get a small window opening asking for a WPA password. I have been to the belkin website and followed various steps as best I could http://en-uk-support.belkin.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/1669 where you can set your own password. but the windows continue to pop up with requests for said password. whenever I submit the password it mostly just says connection timeout. I keep submitting and submitting and then occasionally (sometimes after several hours of trying) the window just disappears at which stage it DOES re-connect me to the www. It`s all a bit baffling. I have tried telephoning belkin directly but so far have just had the usual infuriating recorded messages with a list of options followed by sub options which don`t help and don`t include getting through to a real human being. hence my posting here. Though I don`t hold out much hope of being able to resolve this one through the apple boards. but you never know, Many thanks, Mark

A question: Does this dialogue area where you have to enter your password also have a checkbox on it that asks you if you want your password saved to keychain?
If so, uncheck it first, then enter your password and recheck the box.
Not sure if this is a solution or not but I thought I'd throw my two cents worth in, if it's worth 2 cents.

Can you access your email account through the web interface from a computer using the new password? If so, you may not be typing in the password correctly in your iPad email client. If not, then you've forgotten your new password. Try resetting the password again from the hotmail web interface.

If I fail to click Rember for a new password, is there a way to Remember it later? mber it later?

In the past I have sometimes failed to click Remember when I set a new password. Is there a way I can add Remember to such old passwords now?

Firefox can only "remember" passwords -- new, or old -- if you click "Remember" when it gives you the prompt. But if Firefox stored your OLD password, you may be in luck.
Most sites let you reset your password; if the site requires your old password in order to change it, get the old pass from Firefox (go to Tools, Options, Security, Saved Passwords). Click the "Show Passwords" button on the "Saved Passwords" to see the old pass.
When you create your new pass, make sure you click "Remember" when Firefox asks you if you want to save it.

An install request for a new helper app appeared, I entered my system password to download the app. Since then safari will not open. It just comes up with a safari quit unexpectedly report. I have tried logging on as a Guest but it does the same.

I have a MacBook Pro with OS X Yosemit. MY safari will not open, it only comes up with a safari quit unexpectedly report. A new helper app appeared requesting my system password to download the helper. Stupidly I input the password, when I log off I can see the download icon for a split second still running asking to abort or continue. How do I sort this?

Genieo Adware is installed. Removing it will help.
If you have another browser installed, use it.
If not, launch App store and get another browser for temporary use.
Remove it afterwards.

Constant request for email account password

30 days ago all of my Verizon.net email accounts started to request the password. After entering the password I get the email. Then without exiting out of Outlook the next push of email requires the password to be entered again. I've verified all of the passwords are correct by logging in through Webmail and again thought Outlook. I have exhausted every potential fix from Microsoft and have proven this is a Verizon issue. I have two other email domains one being Gmail and the other is from my website which is a .com and these do not require a password each time I receive or send email.
Anyone have any ideas? I hate to call the support number since you end up with script readers and go through the same process I've seen listed in tis forum. This one looks like something for the level 2 or 3 support team.

I would suggest that anyone having this issue verify they have updated their servers to the NEW server settings of pop.verizon.net / smtp.verizon.net instead of the old incoming/outgoing servers.
For the sake of example, we are going to pretend that we are setting up fictional account "[email protected]" and the password for logging into that account in webmail is "fakepassword" - Again, this is a fictitious account for the sake of an example.
The settings for using Verizon's servers would be:
Incoming Server: pop.verizon.net
Server Requires Authentication: Yes
Username: fakeacct
Password: fakepassword
Requires a Secure Connection (SSL): Yes
Port: 995
Outgoing Server: smtp.verizon.net
Server Requires Authentication: Yes (You can set it to use the same settings as incoming, or manually enter the username and password.)
Requires a Secure Connection (SSL): Yes
Port: 465
If you are given the option anywhere for Secure Password Authentication (SPA), set it to No or Normal
These settings should work unless you have a Verizon/Yahoo account, in which case the server names are: incoming.yahoo.verizon.net -and- outgoing.yahoo.verizon.net
If all of that is set up and it's still not working, your best bet is to provide a screenshot of your settings (with personal information blocked/removed) and any errors you are getting.

Some one is trying to change my password. Last week i had my icloud accessed and my contacts were deleted. And now i have had an email apparently from myself asking for my apple id password because i change the password when my contacts were wiped. i had my last phone stolen i reported it and blocked the phone if they have managed to access it then how are they getting my details. i am not very happy with this as the icloud didn't back up my photos last time there are pics and videos on that phone of my child. if i cloud did back them up they why haven't they appeared on i cloud. My new phone has also backed up to photo stream and they aren't showing up on icloud either. I am not happy with the security of your system if it is this easy for some one to access all my details on a stolen phone!!!!

You need a new Apple ID to create a new iCloud. After you create an Apple ID, go to System Preferences > iCloud and set up iCloud with it

It's only in my repo for now. I'll move this version to the AUR after some feedback.
After some initial debugging (if necessary), I would like to request that the official Perl packaging guidelines be changed to recommend using pacpan as a tool to aid packaging CPAN packages. In many cases it will provide a fully working PKGBUILD by default and in those cases when it doesn't, the provided PKGBUILD will be a very good starting point. It can also be used for comparison to existing PKGBUILDs.
Packagers will find the following functions useful (please see the info page for some output examples):
pacpan --get-pkgbuilds [pkgs]
This will print out default PKGBUILDs for the specified packages. Packages may be specified with the standard pacman package names (e.g. perl-foo-bar) or with the CPAN names (e.g. Foo-Bar for a distribution, Foo::Bar for a module). Pacpan will map modules to their distributions uniquely and thus prevent package conflicts when attempting to package different modules which are in the same distrbution.
It will also provide a comprehensive provides array which will ensure dependency resolution when dealing with dependencies specified in META.yml on CPAN.
Pacpan is also able to detect depends, makedepends and optdepends for CPAN packages.
Of course this depends on the presence and correctness of the META.yml file on CPAN, but this is present for (nearly?) all active distributions.

This will inspect local perl packages and determine if local CPAN packages are named according to the packaging guidelines. It will also determine which modules a package provided by directly matching the files owned by the package according to pacman against the modules provided by those files, including version numbers where available. This will show packagers mistakes in the package and suggest changes to correct them. There is also a function for regular users to update the provides array of perl packages in the local database to ensure dependency resolution while waiting for packagers to correct their PKGBUILDs.

The reason to include modules in the provides array is to enable finer tuning of dependencies. If the modules within a distribution ever change, there would be no need to change the depends array of all packages which had specified that distribution instead of the modules that they actually depend on. It also makes searching easier as someone who is looking for the functionality of a particular module will be able to find it via a pacman search.
If that is really an issue, then it would be trivial to remove the provides from the PKGBUILDs that the code generates. If we could strictly enforce the packaging guidelines in the official repos and the AUR then I suppose it might make sense to ignore modules completely, but I don't see how it hurts to list them in the provides array.
With the current code that I have, I think I have full module-to-distribution resolution and all PKGBUILDs generated by the code for a requested package or module map to the corresponding distribution. The pacpan rewrite is complete and I'm working on plugging the backend into bauerbill right now to handle dependency resolution, installation and makedeps removal. I hope to release the code soon (maybe today, depending on how productive I am), at which point we can really get this discussion going with a feature request on the bug tracker.
