Update crashed my iPhone 4 - Now it doesn't even connect to iTunes.
I updated my phone with the new update and now the phone will not connect with iTunes. The phone won't even turn on now. I just get the home screen as if the phone is brand new and has never been set up.
You need to enter DFU mode. Connect you iphone to your computer. Turn of your iPhone (hold down power button, slide to shutdown). Then press and hold the power button for 3 sec. Then, without letting go of the power button, press and hold the home button for 10 sec. Release the power button, but hold the home button down for 20 more sec. iTunes should now pop up and tell you to restore. Do it. Afterwards, it will ask you to restore from backup. Choose your most recent backup and let it sync. It should be fixed.

I cannot update apps or download anything new from store. Keep getting a message saying "unexpected error occurred." Only new thing I have done is update to 10.8.2 on my computer.
In addtion, I just found out that my iMac is no longer conecting to iCloud either. I never had any problems until I updated to 10.8.2 last night. Any suggestions?

I forgot my password to my ipod touch and locked it out. It told me to connect to iTunes and I did. I put it in recoery mode and started the 5 hour download of the restoring process. I tried it many times it always ends up stopping and an error occurs. Now iTunes is telling me I have to put in my password for my ipod before iTunes can use it and recognize it. But my ipod is still telling me to connect it to iTunes and I just want to restore my ipod.
Try Recovery Mode a few more times.
1. Disconnect the USB cable from the device, but leave the other end of the cable connected to your computer's USB port.
2. Turn off the device: Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds until the red slider appears, then slide the slider. Wait for the device to turn off.
3.While pressing and holding the Home button, reconnect the USB cable to the device. The device should turn on.
4. Continue holding the Home button until you see the "Connect to iTunes" screen. When this screen appears, release the Home button. iTunes should alert you that it has detected a device in recovery mode. Click OK, and then click Restore to restore the device.
Note: Data will be lost. You may have to repeat the above many times. -
I was in school earlier today and noticed that my iphone 4 needed an update, so started the update then after like 2 mintues my phone turns off and when i tried to turn it back on it told me to connect to itunes. Now im connected and it tells me i must restore my phone...And i really dont want to lose my pictures and stuff like that so someone please tell me what i can do...
Sorry, you have no choice but to restore your phone now. If your data was not backed up before you attempted to update, it is gone.

I am trying to restore my password. I followed the steps for doing so when you have never synched the ipod to your computer. I got so far as the 4th step when my ipod told me to connect to itunes. The last step is itunes is suppose alert me that it senses a device going through recovery mode. It never did that. I also just downloaded the latest itunes so what do I do now? by reset option do you mean the DFU restore? worked for me, have you tried that?
if not - hold the lock and home button until the power down bar comes up. then hold the lock button for ten seconds - next continue to hold the lock button and press the home button for ten seconds - next release the lock button and hold the home button for 10 seconds. this should be done with the phone tethered. If done right and your itunes is configured as such, the phone will reload the drivers and start up itunes, and then prompt for a restore/update. -

When i did it told me to connect to itunes after doing so it told me i have to restore my iphone. But i cant since i have so many things in it that are needed to me and my iphone is not synced into my computer. what can i do to make my iphone work again without restoring
You are in Recovery Mode.
You need to connect to iTunes and restore.
Hopefully you have a backup. -

I updated my phone to ios7 and it told me to connect to iTunes. When I did the phone said it needed to be restored. I did this and then iTunes said it can't be as it isn't eligible so now my phone won't turn on. Help please!

I have iPhone4 and Windows 7 Home Premium. iPhone can't backup: message 'couldn't backup because the iphone disconnected'. Try runing iTunes in admin mode. That fixed the issue for me. You can either right click on the shortcut on your desktop and choose to run as an admin each time you launch it or go to the advanced tab under security on the program itself and click the run as admin every time.
