When I try to open it (and this is on a Mac), it does not respond and freezes with a white screen, the tab says "connecting...," and there are no bookmarks or anything showing on the browser. It does not respond at all - I cannot even click into the navigation to change any of the preferences. Please, someone help! Not having Firefox is killing me!
A possible cause is security software (firewall) that blocks or restricts Firefox or the plugin-container process without informing you, possibly after detecting changes (update) to the Firefox program.
Remove all rules for Firefox from the permissions list in the firewall and let your firewall ask again for permission to get full unrestricted access to internet for Firefox and the plugin-container process and the updater process.

Have you read the articles shown in my first message above with the blue clickable links. One of the first things to try is using Firefox in firefox [[safe mode]] which should be available from your program list, BUT when trying that on the first dialogue do not make changes just click on continue.

Opened Firefox this morning and it was like I had just installed it for the first time
What is going on with Firefox. Everything was fine last night. This morning I opened it to check the weather and what opened was a new Firefox asking me if I wanted to make it my default browser. All my bookmarks were there. All the add-ons were there but none of them worked and. I installed Personnas and it worked and then I closed it down. Now I went to open it and it won't open so I'm writing you in Google Chrome. I have loved Firefox but I think it's getting like Internet Explorer. Nothing but problems and doesn't want to work half the time. How very sad.
This may be a problem with preference that aren't saved properly.

In any case, you may be having a problem with some Firefox add-on that is hindering your Firefox's normal behavior. Have you tried disabling all add-ons (just to check), to see if Firefox goes back to normal?

Brought up FireFox, this morning and (1) no bookmarks, and (2) no backup bookmarks.
Running Firefox 3.6.13 for several weeks without any problems until this morning. All bookmarks GONE and no backup files.
Tried to import bookmarks form a previous *html file, nothing comes up. Tried to import bookmarks from IE, nothing, no bookmarks. Removed and Re-installed Firefox still can't load or see any bookmarks.
Run updates to see if that would help. Nothing.
No TOR extension in the extensions.

EDIT: after going to gmail and a couple other sites, my cookies are intact, but the sites are still not in my history.This can be a problem with the file places.sqlite that stores the bookmarks and the history.

Prior to installing the latest update for Firefox this morning, all was well, but since that time, when I go to Farmville, it won't allow me to open my giftbox, barns, inventory, or bakery. It was fine until then. I tried Internet Explorer, (which I hate that browser with a passion) but it allowed me to do those things. I restarted and rebooted and it didn't help the problem. Is there anyway to undo ONLY the last update to Firefox?

I got a software update message this morning and clicked install and restart. Now my e-mail icon has disappeared from the dashboard. How do I get it back?

Tried downloading Mavericks this morning and it froze. I deleted where it started the download and I tried to restart it but now it will not let me start the download. just wants to go to install but there is nothing there to install.

Thank you for the details of the issue you are experiencing when trying to downlaod Mavericks. I recommend emptying your trash and restarting your computer. Once you have done that, navigat the the Purchased tab of the Mac App Store and try downloading Mavericks again:

I have tried everything to get the new 4.0 to open. I did the upgrade this morning and have been working on it all day, When I tried installing it several times FF was running so I closed it down via task mgr. I was listening to music this morning and the speakers on my iPad were working perfectly fine. Then I opened my iSleep App and used it to turn on my nighttime playlist and my alarm clock and my speakers weren't working. I tried restarting it (twice) and it didn't work.
I plugged my headphones in and sound still comes out. And I don't listen my music all the way or for very long, so I'm pretty sure the speakers didn't blow out.
Does anybody what the problem is?I can merely offer a suggestion, reset the iPad.
