Hi, the buttons in the Firefox Sync tab are completely useless.. Nothing responds and this happens only in Firefox 4, works perfectly in 3.6.10.. Its been like this ever since i upgraded to 4 ever since 4 came out but i never had to touch the settings cuz it continued to work properly despite the useless Sync settings tab.. And now for the first time it's giving this error and i can't do anything about it-"'''''Sync encountered an error while synchronising: Unknown error. Sync will automatically retry this action'''''." Its still working fine on 3.6.10 btw. It's been like this for the past 2 days.. Help? :-/

Ok.. I figured it out.. Somehow the old Firefox sync addon also got added to the addons.. Was clashing with the built in one.. :P

Do you get any error messages ? If you get a network timeout error when downloading the update then try temporarily turning off all your firewall and antivirus software until the download has completed.
It's best to only update via your own computer, otherwise you risk losing all your iPad's contents - updating to iOS 5 wipes the iPad and then restores your backup. If you having problems downloading the update then you could try downloading the update file via a browser on another computer and then copying that file to your laptop for the actual update .

Wow that was really quick, thank you so much. Im not sure at all which version it was because i said it was around 4 years ago he bought it. I know it isn't under his username, since he's a PC person (ugh) so i know its probably registered to one of our actual names. isn't there some way to look it up since we did register it, because I'm not even sure where the disks are from when we bought it (we've moved a lot and also have two storage lockers, i know i would have kept it with other disks) but my cd rom drive is actually broken on my computer as well ( i think it got stepped on and is now squished and won't eject or run disks.)
So is there anyway they can look up that its registered to one of our names since we did register it when we bought and installed it, or do i really have to find the disk with some sort of proof of purchase (i know there would be no receipt after all this time)

I am trying to upload pictures to website, but get an error message saying that server redirection is not suppoerted. What is this, and why does it happen? I've never had this problem before and it started after Firefox update yesterday.

Most likely you have Office 2004 which are PPC-only applications and will not work in Lion. Upgrade to Office 2011. Other alternatives are:
Apple's iWork suite (Pages, Numbers, and Keynote.)
Open Office (Office 2007-like suite compatible with OS X.)
NeoOffice (similar to Open Office.)
LibreOffice (a new direction for the Open Office suite.)

Sounds like you synced your new phone to his backup, not yours. Reset the phone and try again. Or maybe Restore will let you resync it, I'm not going to try it on my phone to find out.

Try going into your settings and 'reset all settings'
You will need to retweak your device but it's been said to help with sound issues.

Please test after taking each of the following steps that you haven't already tried. Stop when the problem is resolved. Back up all data before making any changes.
Step 1
Take the applicable steps in this support article. The Wireless Diagnostics program generates a large file of information about your system, which would be used by Apple Engineering in case of a support incident. Don't post the contents here.

Disconnect all USB 3 devices. If you don't know which are USB 3, disconnect all USB devices except keyboard and mouse.

If you're not using a wireless keyboard or trackpad, disable Bluetooth by selecting Turn Bluetooth Off from the menu with the Bluetooth icon. If you don't have that menu, open the Bluetooth preference pane in System Preferences and check the box marked Show Bluetooth in menu bar. Test. Intermittent problems are often a result of interference. Interference can be caused by other networks in the neighbourhood or from household electrical items.
You can download and install iStumbler (NetStumbler for windows users) to help you see which channels are used by neighbouring networks so that you can avoid them, but iStumbler will not see household items.
Refer to your router manual for instructions on changing your wifi channel.

In iTunes, try signing out of your Apple ID & then back in: click on iTunes Store on the left sidebar of iTunes, click on your Apple ID on the top right, sign out, sign back in. Then try to sync your purchased music to your phone again.

I quit the installation, uninstalled iTunes and rebooted my computer. I now receive a similar message with a slight difference:

I did not leave anything out from the error message. It doesn't point to a specific file, it just ends with "(x86)..." Every time I boot up my computer, this error message pops up on my desktop.
How do I repair this issue? I have found multiple suggested solutions but am unsure which one is the best, and I don't want to try a bunch of different things for fear I may make the problem worse. I would like to try and fix this myself if possible but I need to know if that is really possible or if I need to take my computer to someone for repairs. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated!!
