I restored, but I need an AC adapter.

My Ipod did not come with an AC adapter, but i had to restore it. After I finished restoring I got that icon that tells me I need to plug my Ipod into the AC adapter, but I dont have one. All I have is the usb cable that plugs it in to my Ibook. So now it is stuck there and i tried the Menu/Select reset thing and nothing seems to work.
What can I do?

Basically, you need to plug it in to the AC power adapter at this point.
All 4G iPods came with one... and they are required for a restore.
Do you know of anyone who could lend you an AC adapter?
Otherwise, you'll need to buy one. They're sold almost everywhere nowadays.

I need to do a full restore from my Time Capsule (going to boot from Leopard install DVD, re-format internal drive and restore from Time Capsule).
How will the restore work with my external drive that I use for Movies? This external drive does not need to be restored, but is backed up along with my boot disk to the Time Capsule. When it comes time to restore, will Time Machine only restore the files to my newly erased and formatted internal HD, and ignore files in its back up that were from the other drive, or will it try and restore those too? If it does try and restore them, will it look for my external drive or will it chuck everything onto one drive?

yes. full system restore utility on the leopard install DVD restores the system drive only. all other drives have to be restored separately while booted normally using TM interface.

Iphone suddenly says it needs to be restored, so i attempted to restore but now it says it wont activate?

Hi guys,
this morning my Iphone 4 came up with a message on the screen saying it needed to be restored, i thought it was strange so i rebooted my phone.
Then it just went to the 'connect to itunes' screen like it was a new phone.
I attempted to restore and failed a couple times, finally it seems to have worked but wont activate?
any ideas would be great!

No other choice, you have to restore to use your iPad.

My ipod needs to be restored but it only stays on the "connect to itunes" for approximately 20 seconds and then turns black as if it is turned off.

So a couple of months ago, I had to restore my new IPOD 5 TOUCH because i had forgotten the password and disabled it, so as you can imagine I am quite familiar with restoring it.
(The last time I had synced it was the only time that I had to restore it when I first got it when I had disabled it)
This morning I wanted to sync my ipod. So I plugged my ipod into my WINDOWS computer and waited for itunes to open, and it did just like it is supposed to. It then said itunes needed the latest update so i continued with updating it. Itunes updated, but then said that my ipod needed the latest software. I said "ok update" and thats when itunes made my ipod into DFU mode without me even touching it.
SOOOO as you can imagine I was quite upset. I then have realized that because Itunes had moved it into DFU mode on its own, I could not manually get my ipod out of DFU mode so the only thing i was left to do was go ahead and restore it. (correct me if Im wrong)
My huge issue right now is that my ipod NEEDS to be restored, but it only stays on the "connect to itunes" screen for approximatley 20 seconds and then turns black as if it has been turned off. When I plug it into my computer and turn it on to the "connect to itunes" mode, it does open it in itunes and starts "extracting sofftware" but then when it turns black after 20 seconds, it closes out because my computer thinks it has turned off.
I have tried charging it, and nothing has progressed. Im not sure if anything can be done for it right now, or if I could bring it to an apple store to fix it... it's brand new about 3 months old.
HELP and some advice would be greatly appreciated !

- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- Try another cable
- Try on another computer
- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

yes i am sure. This are the exact words... "The iPad "iPad" could not be restored. The disk you are attempting to use is full. (Removing files and emptying the recycle bin will free up additional space". i tried some options, hard reset, redsnow, tinyumbrella but still it's stuck.

Hi folks, just yesterday i can restore my iphone 4 that have a problem when i restore from itunes, when i do the restore from itnes, always showed me the following error:

what I did was this: just when I will finish the process, when the status bar is at the end in the firmware, only put the sim card and go back to take out, I do this like 4 or 5 times and the process restoration ends so well. This method I tried it 2 times and 2 times worked. I spent like 10 hours trying to restore iphone without results, until I started watching the logs and the key is when you are upgrading the firmware sends a command to answer yes. And I hope this helps.

Hi Chris.
It's asking you for my apple id password. not going to give that out, sorry.
However I did try this projector on my mother in laws iphone 4 and on my old iphone 3. ipico software isn't needed. plug and play any video through standard movie player or camera saved video.
I tried on my girls iphone 5 with the adapter. The ipico software and projector doesn't work on this phone.
Hope this helped you. Better to buy a used iphone 3 or 4 and use it for video storage.
I also found that the battery on these projectors are a joke (30-60mins max). I rigged a longer lasting battery on the outside and keep it plugged in while using. This doesn't charge the phone though so I replaced the battery in the old iphone 3 and now get at least a full length movie from it. Great in bed projected onto the ceiling.

I have never made a backup because my computers hard drive crashed (luckily the pics were on the phone) and now after updating like apple said I should it wants me to wipe my phone... I can't loose pics of my kids births and birthdays... I tried the holding buttons and letting off to exit recovery mode with no success... I don't know what to do but I swear if apple makes me loose the priceless pics of my kids I will never buy any apple device ever again... and I will make sure no family or friend ever does either... there has to be a way somehow.. some data recovery some program... I dunno if tinyumbrella can exit it for me without hacking or jailbreaking (which I don't dare/want to do) but i need a solution. I have researched this for hours and hours with no solution so far. If I have to pay $$ for it fine I will but after I recover my data that way I will be going to samsung... anyone with a solution would be greatly appreciated... any solution...

that makes no sense... it was only doing an update... if that's the case it should have promted me to back up first if this is even possible... there is a program that says it can recovery anything that hasn't been written over yet.. so would this not work? http://www.iphone-data-recovery.com/iphone-data-recovery.html or would the apple store be able to recover it??? i've done plenty of data recovery on computers... why wouldn't it be possible on an Iphone... does apple seriously not care about thier customers at all??? how about thier employees that are gonna get more than an earful tomorrow when I walk in there store??? I did a "restore" to "factory settings" (this was the only option listed) thinking I'd be able to sync later and get everything back and ended up losing all my purchased apps and iTunes. Thanks but I think it has something to do with the 'restore'. in the newest iTunes 11, when I click on the tab "iphone", it redirects me to the "welcome to your new iphone" page and asks about doing a 'restore'. I already did a 'restore', but it went to the original factory settings and I want to 'restore' to my lastest back up as of April 12. When I choose that option, it says my iphone doesn't have enough space. I don't know how much I need to delete in order to make it work. I've deleted lots, but it only has 4.1 GB available. I'm not sure why this isn't enough to do a 'restore'. I don't want to delete all my photos and videos, but maybe I will have to?...7.7GB is used up for that. I can't sync or do ANYTHING...

The iPad is telling you it has entered the recovery mode - you need to follow the instructions in http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1212 for connecting to a computer running iTunes by way of the recovery mode.

You have no chose but to restore your phone. What do you mean "lose everything"? Is your data/iTunes content not on your computer?
