I restored ipod touch but it keeps saying restore

I decided to restore my ipod touch bc the other section was over 2 gb but before that i installed the new update then restored it and after restoring it had me set up my ipod and on my itunes it said to set it up which i alread did and said my comp im using had previously syned with an ipod and to restore the back up from my previous sync which was minutes before. It wont sync my ipod at all but i dont want to restore to the complete factory settings and lose all my stuff what do i do?

What is the current status of the iPod? Does it work? What shows on the screen?

iTunes Store: Transferring purchases from your iOS device or iPod to a computer
- Transfer other music using a thrid-part probram like ne of those discussed here:

- Connect the iPod to the computer and make a backup by right clicking on the iPOd under Devices in iTunes and select Back Up
- Restore the iPod from that backup. The restore will also update the iOS.

Make sure when you are setting up your e-mail account that you enter in your entire e-mail address. If you have a Yahoo (includes any e-mail account associated with Yahoo), G-mail, or Aol after entering in your password it should automatically set up. Any other e-mail address you will have to manually set the account up.

Is there any way to keep apps on my ipod touch but not keep copies of them on my PC? I have space issues on my PC, so I don't want to have to keep copies there. I deleted the apps from my PC, but when I synced my ipod to add some photos, all my apps were deleted from my ipod. Is there any way to be able to just sync photos and music, and not apps? Seems I am able to manually manage music, which allows me to not have to keep my music library stored on my PC, but can't get the photos to sync without the apps syncing too.
Any help here would be greatly appreciated. I'm new at this.

though purchased apps can be re-downloaded for free, i strongly advise against such a practice !

If you still have the apps on the iPod you can delete them from the computer and then transfer the apps from the iPod t the computer by:
iTunes Store: Transferring purchases from your iPhone, iPad, or iPod to a computer
Next would be to look in your computer backups file for a version of the apps that works with the iOS on the iPod.
Otherwise you are out of luck.

My son forgot his passcode so was told to restore the ipod touch. Did that and went throught the procedure then it was supposed to show back in the left hand column but never did and now ipod is dead. When plugged into USB it says its unrecognisable. Please help.

See if placing the iPod in recovey mode will allow iTunes to see the iPod so that you can restore the iPod. For recovery mode:
