I restored my ipod, why is this happening?

I dont have a plug in the wall adapter. I only have the one you plug into the computer. all my ipod screen shows is an icon of a plug and socket. my ipod was working correctly until i restored it
What do I do?

First generation iPods restored via a usb connection require you to plug it into power to complete the update. You may get the required power if you have a powered firewire port on your computer.
Other than that, you need the charger.
If your iPod was working correctly, why did you feel the need to restore it?
