I rubbed off silver space on itunes gift card to redeem and there is no code on card

how do I recover an itunes redeem code from a card that came blank.. the store i purchased it from will not assist. I'm told to take it up with apple. What now?

Problems for iTune gifts to be redeemed easily,safely and swiftly

It is very hard to hunt for the paid iTune apps all the day long.I have received iTune gifts from my brother from London and it can not be redeemed from Pakistan.
Since there exists no facility in Pakistan to buy apps directly and I have to use the latest apps in the capacity of an independent inventor.
I don't see any problem to make it safe,simple and easy

Normally the purchase price should come from the account balance first. I was going to speculate that you might be in Canada as they used to insist that all software was purchased using a traceable credit or debit card, though that seems no longer to be the case.

If you tap on your id in Settings > iTunes & App Stores on your iPad and log into your account, does your balance show at the top of your account's screen (mine shows above the 'Apple ID' line at the top).
If it doesn't show there then have you tried logging out and back into your account, and have you checked your account's purchase history (e.g. you didn't have any pre-orders or auto-renewing subscriptions that were due) ? On your computer's iTunes you can view it via the Store > View Account menu option, on your account's page you should see a Purchase History section with a 'see all' link to the right of it, click on that and you should then see a list of your account's purchases. HT201209 I went onto my computer and set up an account...I entered my gift cards where it said redeem and there is $40 on my account. However,I have no idea how to use it. I read that I can take my credit card out and just use the itunes card but again

I went into the computer and set up my account, I then went to where you enter the gift card info to redeem the money and my account says I have $40...however, when I go and try to use it I can not figure out how to do so. I also read that I can remove my credit card info and just use Itune cards...but again i can not figure out how to do this.

Order of iTunes billing methods
When making purchases, content credits are used first, followed by Gift Certificate, iTunes Card, or Allowance Account credits; your credit card or PayPal account is then charged for any remaining balance.
When you buy individual songs from the iTunes Store:
Free song credits are redeemed first.
If you have no free song credits, gift certificate, prepaid card, and allowance credits are used next.
If your gift certificate, prepaid card, and/or allowance credit is less than the total cost of the purchase, your credit card is billed for the remaining balance.
If you have no free song credits or gift certificates, prepaid cards, or allowance credits, your credit card is billed for the songs you buy.
When you buy an album on the iTunes Store:
Gift certificate, prepaid card, and allowance credits are used first.
If your gift certificate, prepaid card, or allowance credit is less than the total cost of the purchase, your credit card is billed for the remaining balance. Note: Free song credits cannot be used for album purchases.

ITunes Gift Certificates Non-Redeemable!

I can't figure out where else to ask about this -- but I cannot redeem my gift certificate because when I go to the link at the bottom of the iTunes page I get some terrible janky undefined site.
Try it out for yourselves just incase my computer will load every other page on the internet except for that one. lol.

I found the problem. This website hates firefox. lol. I used I.E and the link on the page worked fine. I even tried disableing pop up blocking in firefox, but I don't really think that opening iTunes is considered a pop up, and it didn't work anyway.
So there you have it -- if you want to redeem your gift certificates -- I hope you haven't deleted internet explorer out of spite yet, because you'll be sorry.

A reset may help. Tap and hold the Home button and the On/Off button at the same time for approximately 10-15 seconds, until the Apple logo reappears. When the logo appears, release both buttons and await restart. No content will be affected.
