Mark ~ Yes, because GarageBand for iPad has been +"built from the ground up to take advantage of the large Multi-Touch screen on iPad."+ (Source).

  • If i buy iwork but then get a new computer will i need to buy it again

i am looking into buying iwork however my macbook is three years old now and i will probably get a new one before the end of the year. would i need to buy iwork again to install it on my new computer?

If you have bought iWork on a DVD you can install from the DVD and do the updates wthout additional charge.
If you have bought iWork through Mac AppStore you can install from Mac AppStore again without additional charg if you use the same Apple ID as when you bought it.
If you have the downloaded iwork from Apple Store and a serial number you have to have the iWork.dmg on a stick and also have the serial number handy when installing on the new computer. Otherwise you have to buy the applications again from the AppStore. N.B. Apple store and appStore isn't the same store.

  • IPad 1 is recognized by iTunes running on Windows XP but will not sync (new problem, used to work fine).  The iPad and all its contents displayed but warning box says the iPad is not connected.  Tried soft reboot.  All software versions current.

iPad 1 connects to iTunes and displays in the left column.  All elements on iPad displayed.  However, it will not sync.  Displays message that the iPad is not connected.  This is a new issue.  Used to work fine.  All iTines and iPad software up to date.  Ran HELP diagnotsic in iTunes with iPad connected - no issues noted.  Attempted soft reboot of iPad.  No help.

Issue hopefully resolved.  Required Apple store to delete all info from iPad and reinstall operating system.  Had to reload all data, but it seems to be working fine.  Cause unknown.

  • I have apps on my iMac, do i need to buy them again for my macbook?

Do i need to re-purchase all of the apps i have bought for my iMac when i  buy a Macboook?

It really depends on the App.  Contact the vendor and ask them how many licenses you are entitled.  If they won't redownlaod with the same account for free on the other machine, ask the vendor for help. You should seriously consider upgrading to 10.7.3 because of this:

No. What's on your iMac is a backup and you can re-install (re-sync).

  • For a Macbook Air will I need to buy a mac mini to run additional programs like photoshop and games

As a graphic design student I wanted to own a laptop that was capable of running Adobe programs and games, but I bought a 2014 Macbook Air; 128GB of storage, 4GB of memory, and runs at 1.4 Ghz. With this information will I still be able to run programs with no problem or will I need to buy a Mac Mini to run all the programs and games that'll be too much for my Air.

Your MacBook Air has turbo boost up to 2.7GHz >  http://store.apple.com/us/buy-mac/macbook-air?product=MD711LL/B&step=config
Check Adobe's website for minimum requirements for the apps and games you want to use.
Turbo boost is a technology integrated into Intel processors that temporarily increases the speed of the processor when needed.

As Niel states you can use your current iWorks.
If you want the latest version you will need to purchase the componets in the Mac App Store.

TRIM is supported on Apple-branded SSDs, but not third-party aftermarked SSDs.

I have ordered OSx 10.6.  I have 1 GB of memory.  Will I need to buy more memory?

If you like to work with photos, graphics, or videos at all, then 2 GB would be much better; I actually had 3 GB installed when I was running Snow Leopard (that was the maximum for my iMac). The minimum requirements published are exactly that: a minimum. For instance, for Mountain Lion, it says 2 GB; unless you do nothing but email and web browsing, 4 GB is a much more realistic minimum.
So, if your computer model can handle 2 GB, go for it.

  • If I buy a MacBook pro now, what will happen with it once the Lion OS makes it's appearance? Will I need to buy a new one again?

If I buy a MacBook pro now, what will happen with it once the Lion OS makes it's appearance? Will I need to buy a new one again?

Lion will run on most Intel machines. It will not run on the following machines:
MacBook Pro (sold before October 2006)
    MacBook (sold before November 2006)
Mac Mini (sold before August 2007)
    iMac (sold before September 2006)
It requires an Intel Core 2 Duo (or later CPU). Those machines listed above were all Intel Core Duo machines and with the exception of one of the Mac Minis, an Intel Core Solo. So we're talking 4+ year old machines. I have not tested Lion on a machine with anything less than 2GB of RAM.
Wikipedia has a pretty good public summation of what's known so far and it's quite accurate - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mac_OS_X_Lion
The biggest thing of note so far is that you cannot install/run Rosetta. Which maybe problematic for some users.

  • HP Pavilion Elite E9120F running hot, what fan do I need to buy. It is running at over 90 degrees

My desktop HP Pavilion E9120F began to run hot, fan was coming on very slow, I cleaned really good, was a bit dusty.. I think this may have caused the problem. It is not running at 90 degrees farenheit. I replaced the video card so I could run video programs thinking that would fix it, didn't. I am wondering do I need to buy a new fan to keep the temp down or is my CPU damaged and can't be fixed? I can still run my programs but CPU gets to 100% and it never gets under 78 degrees. Help I don't know if I should just buy new fans or what?

If this is your CPU, it's range is 55°C - 71°C.   Here is how to measure a fan

  • I aam thinking of changing from a PC to a Mac.  Will I need to buy a new Apple compatible version of Lightroom, do I have to pay to upgrade or can I get the new version free?

I am thinking of changing from a PC to a Mac.  Will I need to buy a new, Apple compatible, version of Lightroom, or can I upgrade to it, or can I get it free as I've paid for the PC version?

Your licence is not platform specific, so Lightroom can be used on any two machines (Mac and/or WIndows), with one actually being used at any given time.
    So no, you're money's safe!

  • I have downloaded the HD version of a movie from itunes, but when I sync it to my iPad 2 it will not play. It appears that it is on the iPad, but it will not play. Is this because it is HD, and if so is there a way to change it from being HD? Thanks

I'm having a similar problem ... just used my iPad 2 to purchase the Bourne trilogy and it downloaded fine but I did not try to play it right away.  Then I plugged the iPad into the computer and it downloaded the SD versions of the movie and I used iTunes to sync my movies.  Then I tried to play it and it said it could not open the movie.  I then did a full iPad restore and did a fresh sync and now I get the Cannot Opne pop up.  Did you ever find an answer to your question?

  • Will I need to buy Lion on a Lion preinstalled macbook air after transferring a snow leopard system from an old macbook pro

So will I need to buy Lion from the app store to upgrade, after I transfer my old snow leopard system to a new macbook air, that came with Lion?
    Thanks!

Use Setup Assistant when your new Mac first starts up to transfer your stuff from the old Mac or it's backups.
If it comes with Lion, see Using Setup Assistant on Lion
If it comes with Snow Leopard, see the slightly-different Using Setup Assistant on Snow Leopard or Leopard, then upgrade to Lion.
