I run Mac 10.5.8 and have been using firefox for a little while. Recently, possibly after downloading an upgrade, my attatchments are not opening up in the correct applications, all files are downloaded in .ashx, which is a real pain. Can you help?

I have windows 7 and have been using Firefox for the last several months and now I can' open it up for some reason.

I've been using firefox as my principle browser for quite some time. I normally just click on it once and it opens to the home page with google search in the middle of the page. I downloaded some e-mail attachment about a job and that's when it seemed to act up. Several sites will not respond any longer when I type or click on them. I have been using Firefox for years and all of a sudden, nothing.

I'd try starting Firefox in [[Safe Mode]]. If you don't have the issue while all of your add-ons, extensions, and themes are disabled, you can try adding them back in one by one until you find the culprit. You should look at the [https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/Troubleshooting-extensions-themes Extensions and Themes troubleshooting guide ] and the [[Troubleshooting plugins]] article as well.

You can find the connection settings in Tools > Options > Advanced : Network : Connection 
If you do not need to use a proxy to connect to internet then select "No Proxy"

You have 2 versions of Pages on your Mac.
Pages 5.2.2 is in your Applications folder.
Pages '09/'08 is in your Applications/iWork folder.
You are alternately opening the wrong versions.
Pages '09/'08 can not open Pages 5 files and you will get the warning that you need a newer version.
Pages 5.2 can open Pages '09 files but may damage/alter them. It can not open Pages '08 files at all.
Older versions of Pages 5 can not open files from later versions of Pages 5.
Once opened and saved in Pages 5 the Pages '09 files can not be opened in Pages '09.
Anything that is saved to iCloud and opened in a newer version of Pages is also converted to Pages 5 files.
All Pages files no matter what version and incompatibility have the same extension .pages.
Pages 5 files are now only compatible with themselves on a very restricted set of hardware, software and Operating Systems and will not transfer correctly on any other server software than iCloud.
Apple has removed over 110 features from Pages 5 and added many bugs:

You can add the icon of the missing Pages on your Dock or open Pages from the Apple menu > Recent Items list.
Or you can archive Pages 5 so that it doesn't automatically open.

I bought my Photoshop Extended (PC) last year in the US. I have been using it for a bit more than a year. Today, opening Photoshop, Adobe asks me to pay or enter my serial number. So I enter the number (again), and it says that the number is invalid.
My version is an official version, I paid for it.

The only way that file opens thru IE8 for me ''(but not actually in IE8)'' is by using the Zip Utility (then IE closes) that is in WinXP and then opening the two image files in the Windows Fax and Picture Viewer.

I have been using Firefox for years. When I downloaded the Firefox 20.0, I can type in my hotmail address, but my hotmail won't open.

I am able to type in the address bar, but when I hit enter, nothing happens. And I don't like using Internet Explorer. This happens when I try to acccess my hotmail account. I never had this problem with other versions of Firefox.

In the current Firefox 34 release there is a new "one-off" search bar.
This search bar doesn't show the name of the search engine and a logo.
You can type one letter to make a drop-down list appear where you can see suggestions and see the used search engine and that also has bar at the bottom where you can select other search engines that are enabled via the Search tab in Options/Preferences.
