iTunes Support
and follow the instructions to report the issue to the iTunes Store. They usually will ask for a scan of the front and back sides of the card as well as a scan of the receipt, so you should contact the person who gave her the card and ask if they can send you a copy of the receipt. Many resellers provide a gift receipt for just this sort of purpose.

If you've forgotten your answers to your security questions then you can get them reset : If you forgot the answers to your Apple ID security questions

As long as you are buying content for yourself and not trying to gift content (you can't use your balance for gifting) then the purchase price (plus any applicable taxes) should be deducted from your balance. then credit card details will need to be entered before the account can be used to download any item from the store.

The gifting options on a mobile device are limited. However, if you long into your iTunes account on a Mac or PC, you can gift a song you have already purchased. Click the triangle and choose "Gift This Song." See pic below.

TS1292 my code on my itunes card has come off, how can i redeem it with =out the code,

when trying to take the sticky off the back of the card all the code has come off. I do have receipt for it as i bought in a supermarket today, how can i redeem this itunes card now, as i paid 25pds.

I was given an iTunes gift card and I followed the directions to redeem it. I then went to download an album and it processed but I still have my gift card credit, meaning they took it off my visa card instead. I didn't want that, I wanted to use my gift card. Now what ? I want my money back

After establishing the Credit Card account (i.e. after you have made purchases), you can remove the credit card information by editing your payment info, choosing "None".
Settings>iTunes and App Stores>Apple ID>View Apple ID>Sign-in>Payment Information
