I see my iPod in iTunes, but it won't sync.

It should sync automatically. It doesn't. I reset and restored it already. I also removed and reinstalled iTunes. It goes in and out of iTunes. It also doesn't seem to hold a charge. In iTunes, I clicked Sync, and nothing happened. Is a dead battery causing all of this?

iPod is also very hot (I've been trying to charge it since yesterday).

I created a Playlist to my iphone using the musics already on it and the next try i could add new files to this playlist (and to the iphone) but if I try to add it the way I used to do (directly to the iphone) I still get the prohibited symbol.
This is ok, since I can use it the way I want (so far, i didn´t try yet to add other files like PDF or CBR files) and find a way to add the files i want, but I cannot help to think how wierd this is...
I just don´t like the way apple choosed to make possible transfer files to my device. I really like my iphone but my friends with Nokia and Android have an easier life on that matter...

Well you see, I just got this new Ipod 5G that I really wanted but something went wrong when I tried to sync it with Itunes. It said that the ipod needed 10.7 Itunes but clearly I had not so late version 10.6.3. And I can't update my itunes because it is at the point where it can not update for now so I don't know when it will ever update to 10.7 but right now I am stuck on 10.6.3. You need to buy a Mac OS X 10.6 DVD or use a combination of these instructions and iTunes Match to put content onto the iPod touch.

Import audio book to itunes but it won't sync to my ipod

I am at a complete loss. I have been importing audio books from the public library to itunes and then putting them on my ipod for months. All of a sudden the books won't sync to my ipod. Songs work ok, but my audio books don't. The little sync icon spins and the itunes screen says it is updating but it only lasts for a few seconds and the book is not on my ipod. I have done everything I can think of including restoring my ipod back to the original settings which lost everything. I don't know what else to do.

Restore, if iTunes will let you. Everything except the password will be restored. Connect via cable to the computer that you use for sync. Be forewarned that it takes a long time. From iTunes, select the iPad/iPod and then select the Summary tab. Follow directions for Restore and be sure to say "yes" to the backup. You will be warned that all data (apps, music, movies, etc.) will be erased but, as the Restore finishes, you will be asked if you wish the contents of the backup to be copied to the iPad/iPod. Again, say "yes."
At the end of the basic Restore, you will be asked if you wish to sync the iPad/iPod. As before, say "yes." Note that that sync selection will disappear and the Restore will end if you do not respond within a reasonable time. If that happens, only the apps that are part of the IOS will appear on your device. Corrective action is simple - choose manual "Sync" from the bottom right of iTunes.
If you're unable to do the Restore, go into Recovery Mode per the instructions here.

I have two computers connected to my iTunes. but it won't sync. My new computer won't take the songs already on my iPod or give me the new songs on the computer. What do I do?

I tried figuring out the icloud thing but all my settings are set to "on" so it should sync but it isn't... and plugging my ipod into my new computer doesn't change anything. The computer won't pick up the songs on the ipod and the ipod won't pick up the new songs on the new computer.

You can only sync with one iTunes library. However, you can manage mauic and videos among different computer by:
Using iPhone, iPad, or iPod with multiple computers
You can transfer iTunes purchases to a computer by:

I see my songs in iTunes, but they won't play

I recently had problems with my computer and got a new hard drive. The people that changed the hard drive saved "My Music" folder with all the songe (2000 of them). I just downloaded iTunes again and get the message:
"iTunes detected a problem with your audio configuration. Audio playback may not operate properly"
I can see all my songs and playlists like before, but when I click on a song, nothing happens. Does anyone have any ideas? I spent a lot of time (and money) getting my music just the way I want it and I can't face redoing it all.

There is a limit to the resolution that is playable on an iPod nano, 5th gen. According to the specs
"H.264 video, up to 1.5 Mbps, 640 by 480 pixels, 30 frames per second, Low-Complexity version of the H.264 Baseline Profile with AAC-LC audio up to 160 Kbps, 48kHz, stereo audio in .m4v, .mp4, and .mov file formats; H.264 video, up to 2.5 Mbps, 640 by 480 pixels, 30 frames per second, Baseline Profile up to Level 3.0 with AAC-LC audio up to 160 Kbps, 48kHz, stereo audio in .m4v, .mp4, and .mov file formats; MPEG-4 video, up to 2.5 Mbps, 640 by 480 pixels, 30 frames per second, Simple Profile with AAC-LC audio up to 160 Kbps, 48kHz, stereo audio in .m4v, .mp4, and .mov file formats."
So generally, 640x480 resolution is the limit for the video, although the screen itself is only 376x240. iTunes will not load any video that is not supported by the iPod. For example, if your videos are "HD," they exceed the limit.
There is a command in iTunes that can covert video to a supported format, as long as the video is not DRM'ed (protected). Hey...! I just noticed that command is in a new location in the latest iTunes. So this is for the latest version...
Select the video in iTunes. Go up to the menu bar and
File -> Create New Version -> Create iPod or iPhone Version
If conversion for that video is not allowed, the command will be grayed out. If it works, the resulting version should be loadable and playable on your iPod.
