I seem to have two ActiveX: 11 & 17. Should I remove 11?

I just installed "your uninstaller!" because I suspect I have traces of uninstalled programs, then I realized in the list of installed programs there's Adobe Flash Player 11 ActiveX and Adobe Flash Player 17 ActiveX. Should I remove the eleventh?
Thanks in advance,

Yes, you'll want to only have the latest version installed.  Assuming you are on Windows 7 (or earlier), here's a FAQ that walks you through a clean installation.
How do I do a clean install of Flash Player?

  • I seem to have two apple id's. How do I get rid of one?

I am trying to access the Cloud to find a lost document, but I seem to have two apple id's, one is verified. I can't access cloud. How can I do that? Is there any other way to find my document? It means another week of work if not.

    Hi SGayleC,
It appears that your iCloud account on your Mac is still associated with the old email address.  On your Mac, In System Preferences, are you able to click on iCloud and sign out of your old account?   If so, you should then be able to sign in with your correct Apple ID and password.
I'm including some information on this below, and a link to our Apple ID support team if you need it.
OS X Yosemite: If you sign out of iCloud
    http://support.apple.com/kb/PH18999?viewlocale=en_US
OS X Yosemite: If you sign out of iCloud
If you sign out in iCloud preferences, your iCloud mail, calendars, reminders, notes, and documents stored in iCloud are removed from your Mac. If you have photos in My Photo Stream that aren’t imported, they’re removed from your Mac. Your bookmarks and Reading List remain in Safari, but the iCloud Tabs list of webpages open on your other devices is no longer available.
When you sign out of iCloud, you’re asked whether you want to keep a copy of the data for Contacts and Safari passwords. If you keep copies of the iCloud data, iCloud doesn’t keep the copy up to date with changes on your other devices.
Copy iCloud documents and data before signing out
Before signing out of iCloud, you can copy or archive iCloud documents and data to your Mac.
iCloud Drive: For instructions on copying documents to your Mac, see Store documents with iCloud Drive.
Documents and data you copy to your Mac aren’t kept up to date with changes on your other devices.
After signing out of iCloud on your Mac, you can still access your iCloud documents and data on your other devices set up for iCloud and on iCloud.com. If you sign in to iCloud again on your Mac, your iCloud documents and data reappear on your Mac.

  • I seem to have two home folders?

I don't know how this happened (perhaps when I upgraded to Tiger?), but I seem to have two home folders.
The “real” one has the “house” icon and is in the proper place: Macintosh Hard Drive > Users > tim (my username). The duplicate does not have the house icon and is at the root level of my HD.
Both folders have mostly the same contents: ViaVoice, Sites, Public, Pictures, Music, Movies, Desktop, Documents, Library. The differences are that the “real” home folder (the one with the house icon) has icons on all of the subfolders too, while the “fake” one has blank subfolders. The real folder has the actual contents of my desktop in its desktop folder while the fake one does not. The “fake” home folder, however, has a crossed out pencil icon at the top of the window (meaning the folder is unchangeable?).
Is it safe to delete the “fake” home folder and how do I do so?
    Thanks.

It should be perfectly safe to trash the "fake", as it cannot possibly be being used, after checking (you've already done it, I'm sure) that it contains nothing you want.
Have a Finder window open so that you can see the "fake". Launch Terminal (in /Applications/Utilities) and type:
    rm -R
    Type a <space> after the R
Drag the "fake" folder into the Terminal window. The folder will not move, but the line in Terminal will now be completed with the path to the "fake". Hit <return>.
If the "fake" has gone that's it. If there is an error message in Terminal then do exactly the same, but using:
    sudo rm -R
…<space>, drag folder. After hitting <return> you will get a "password:" prompt. Type carefully (it will not show on screen), hit <return> again. Poof!

  • I seem to have two icloud accounts--how can i consolidate?

I seem to have two iCloud accounts--how do I consolidate?

If your second account is actually an iCloud account with data in it, as opposed to a login for iTunes, iTunes in the Cloud and iTunes Match (which isn't actually anything to do with iCloud itself) you can sign in with it in System Preferences>Mail, Contacts and Calendars and its data will appear alongside the main account. (You can't use PhotoStream and a few other facilities with this secondary account, and you don't get 'push' email, only checking at intervals).
If the second ID is in fact only for iTunes just go on as you are: there is no conflict about doing this and you won't even notice as Keychain will log you in with the correct ID in each case. It's also better security not to have your iTunes login also your email address, given the number of complaints about hacked iTunes accounts.

  • On camera roll I seem to have two photos in the same location. When I click on the visible photo a different photo is revealed. I cannot load the photos onto my MacBook

On camera roll I seem to have two differen photos in the same location. How do I resolve this? I cannot transfer one of each of these photos to my macbook.  Any ideas?

An hour-long phone discussion with Apple Support yesterday solved this question and sorted a couple of others.
As for this one, do not ignore any messages which pop up when you plug in your iPhone and ask "Trust this computer?".  The correct reply is "Yes", not "Cancel".
OK, you cancelled like I did, thinking "What on earth is this for?".  Mistake.  You can force the issue by having iTunes open when you next plug in your iPhone.  Tell the iPhone that it can trust its old friend, your computer and voila!  Your photos can download into iPhoto again.

  • I seem to have two different apple ID's, one of which is my email address.  How can I cange it, as I can't clink on it.

I seem to have two apple ID.s, and one is my email address.  How do I correct this as I can't delete and replace the ID?

Saw this in another forum. You could try it.
Under the FaceTime Account you can only have 1 email set up, but below that you can set up multiple email accounts as phone numbers, I do it all the time.
FaceTime is set up with my account, but since the iPad is more of a family device (its mine, but everyone is allowed to use it), my sister programed her email so that her friends can call her on the iPad and so did my Mom and brother. Their friends dial their numbers (email addresses) and the iPad still rings even though the main number is mine account.

  • I seem to have two iCloud accounts, how do I merge them so I only have one email address

I originaly had an apple ID with itunes established many years ago. Some years later I obtained a .me account. It appears that when iCloud was created I somehow seem to have ended up with 2 identities. the original iTunesone and the one associated with the then new .me email. I would like to continue using the original iTunes ID (as most of my content is there) but iCloud insists that I need to create another .me email address for that iTunes ID. I do not want two addresses, can I merge these accounts and only use 1 .me addres?
    Thanks
    Ray

You can keep the original ID for iTunes, iTunes in the Cloud and iTunes Match, and use a different ID for iCloud for email, calendar, contacts and bookmarks syncing and PhotoStream.
In iTunesStore>Account you can change the email address associated with the login ID if you with - the actual login doesn't have to be a functioning email address.
This means that iTunes will have a different login to iCloud, but Keychain will take care of this anyway so your won't need to remember which one to use. It's better security to have your iTunes login different from your easily discoverable email address, given the number of complaints about iTunes accounts being hacked.

  • Adobe Illustrator CS3 swatch folders - I seem to have two?

I notice that I have two swatch folders.
    One appears in:
    C:\Documents and settings\all users\Application data\Adobe Illustrator CS3 settings\Swatches
    The other in:
    C:\Program files\Adobe\Adobe Illustrator CS3\Presets\Swatches
Why are there two different swatch folders?
Do I have them stored incorrectly on my C:\ drive?

  • I now seem to have two websites...

This is sort of a follow-up to a question I posted earlier that Mireille was able to help me with. (Help, Mireille!!!)
It seems now that I have two websites sitting on my iDisk, and both are publishing, but under slightly different web addresses.
The older site address is: web.mac.com/myusername/iWeb/Site/Home.html
The new site address is: web.mac.com/myusername/Site/Home.html
I don't care which site address it is, but people used to be able to access the site by my giving just "web.mac.com/myusername/" as the web address... but now that address goes immediately to the old site rather than the new one. When I tried to go into my iDisk to correct the problem, I didn't know what to do next. Help?

I figured it out... I found the files under my iDisk in Web>sites>iWeb and deletes the older version of the site.
    Thanks to those who answered.

  • I am using Mail for emails and I seem to have two different windows that switch between the two.  The emails are the same but the second window opens when I click on any details and I cannot see the top of my screen with control icons for internet, file

I am not very tech savy and apologize in advance if my question is not clear.  I use the Mail application on my mac and I have two users on my computer, one for gmail and another for my work email.  All email addresses appear in the mail application on one page.  When I open my email and click on a message it often goes to the other user screen and cuts off the top of my screen which shows the bar for Chrome, file, edit, view, history etc....Still functional but very annoying.  How do I choose a user screen and stop having it switch back and forth.
    Thank you.

  • I seem to have two incomplete versions after migrating

Bought 2014 Mac Mini to eventually replace 2009 Mac Mini running Lion 10.7.5.  Connected via ethernet cable and did set up and migration assistant.  Somewhere in the process it needed me to rename an account and now I have two admin users but neither version has all my stuff.
One version has no contacts, calendar, iTunes and the iCloud drive spins endlessly trying to set up.  iPhoto did migrate.  My documents from the 2009 are there too.  Mail and contacts are not checked in the iCloud drive set up but I can't get access to change.  I get the message iTunes needs a library to continue.  with quit, create library and choose library as choices.
Second version does not have iPhoto or documents.  iCloud drive is not set up.  Does have contacts, iCal, iTunes.
I do not know how to get everything in one account!
I still have the ethernet connected to both.  Is there a specific way to disconnect without causing an further issues? .  I am afraid of disconnecting anything for fear of making it worse!
I need to keep the 2009 mini as I am taking an online class and have various programs downloaded to it that I don't want to go through the process of doing that on the new mini.  I would like to delete photos and documents from it in hopes of speeding it up a bit when I am 100% sure everything will be on the 2014 mini.  So far, since everything is still connected I am sitting here with two mice, one wired keyboard that I move from one computer to the other and one HDTV monitor.  I have the 2014 mini connected to the HDTV via a HDTV cable and that works fine.  I have the 2009 connected with an adapter and switch from RGB to HDTV when I want to use the 2014.
At some point I need to get MS Office moved from the 2009 to the 2014 but that is last on my list.
I am a beginner and need very specific directions.  I have learned everything I know via Apple support communities.  Thank you for any help!

Turn off File Sharing if it's enabled then disconnect the Ethernet cable. Don't do this if you have a transfer in progress.

  • I seem to have two email accounts with my service provider and they are receiving the same email as far as I can see.  Can I delete one and feel safe that I am receiving all of my email.

I have three separate email accounts showing up in my Mail program on my MacBook Pro.  Two of them are my local email provider one showing up as SaskTel Email and the other showing up as sasktel.net.  The third one is ICloud.  Can I delete one of the SaskTel ones, as they seem to get the same mail.

What do you tell your friends to use to send you email?
Are they going to the same "Incoming Mail Server", logging in with the same "User Name" ? If so, they are two instances of the same account, and one can certainly be deleted with impunity.
    This detailed information is in
    Mail > Preferences > Accounts > ...

  • Hi: I think this is a common question - I seem to have two Apple ID's and need to know which one to use when activating a replacement iphone5

    Hi:
    I have 2 Apple ID's.
The first is the ID I established when I bought my first MacBook Pro several years ago.
When Mobile Me ended, I migrated to a new Apple ID that is associated with icloud and that ID has its own password.
On the first iphone 5 I purchased I used the "original ID" and noticed that I'm not receiving any email messages from my mac mail account.  I assume this is because I used the original ID and not the new icloud ID.
Now that Apple has sent a replacement phone (issue with loose power button) I'd like to know if I'm supposed to use the iCloud ID to get the mail app to function properly....I've read this on the forums.
Well....thought I'd test out the procedure on the old phone before activating the new phone.....it doesn't seem to work.
I erased all content and settings, and tried to set up the device as new rather then restore from icloud.....I got an error message saying the password and User ID did not match.  I then reset my icloud password for my .me user ID.....same message came up, i.e., wrong password.
I'd like to get this figured out as I use three email accounts and would like each of them to "work" on the phone.
Thanks in advance for any help that you can offer.

Ok, fair enough.  But since Job's death - Apple's control on leaks has been terrible.  I got the new iPhone, and I like it - but it hasn't made nearly as big as an impression as previous ones.  Because of the vast ammount of leaks.  With the iPad mini leaks, it's 99% sure to come out next week.
Apple uses many manufacturers and it's massive also websites prefer to report on Apple whether true or false because it brings more hits.
Amd by "others" I meant other people on iPads - not other devices/manufacturers.  It's possible to do so, I just want to know how.  I honestly don't think we'll ever be in a Post-PC era until all tablets allow us to use USB in the way computers do.
