I select Printer Preferences Prompt Main Tray or Photo tray But never given the choice.

I have an all in one photosmart c309a. At times I want to select main tray rather than Photo tray when printing. Using the option for "prompt tray" does not respond. Printer insists on using photo tray if paper is not Letter size.

I’m sorry to hear you are having problems printing from your Samsung tablet to your Photosmart C309g printer.
I have included several documents about printing from your Android tablet. The HP Printer Control app replaced the HP All-in-one Printer app. By your post I'm not sure if you still have the HP ePrint app still installed as the printing goes through the ePrint app to print. If it's has been uninstalled that would explain why you are unable to access the settings.

Adobe Photoshop crashing when selecting print preferences

Hi There,
It seems that within the past 2 days in our company we have had users complain that Adobe Photoshop is crashing when they go to print and print preferences. They say a window appears and says "Photoshop has stopped working and windows is looking for a solution".
Has anybody else experienced this over the past couple days? It was working on all computers until recently.
The computers are a mostly Windows 8 computers with 1 Windows 7.

try resetting preferences by holding down shift-ctrl-alt while starting ps. if done correctly a confirmation dialog with appear.
if that fails, this worked for someone else,
System Preferences>Print & Fax. Selected the Konica Minolta printer (the B/W printer was working fine). Changed the name. Still didn't fix it. Went back selected my newly named Konica Minolta then "Open Print Queue" (like Dave said)>print settings. Change the driver to "Generic Postscript printer." I could print, but only on letter-size paper, no other options available (need tabloid). Went back to system preferences>print & fax>Konica Minolta2>open print queue>drivers then I reselected the updated printer drivers--the same one that hasn't been working.

I understand that you are looking for print options when printing from you iPad. The only way to get printer options is to download the Hp ePrint app it allows you to change some printer options when printing from your iPad.

Dear All,
When I click on the "print" button in Acrobat Reader X , i get the "print" window but all buttons are blank and only the page preview is shown.
I rolled this version out on 1200 machines and some of them have this issue.
The version is 10.0.1.

Could you please try turning off reader X protected mode and check if you continue to see the problem?
You could turn off protected mode using following steps:
1. Launch Reader X and select Edit->Preferences...
2. Select General from left navigation
3. Under application startup uncheck "Enable Protected Mode at Startup"
Note: You should switch "ON" protected mode after verifying the problem. Purpose of Reader X Protected Mode is to keep your system safe from PDF based exploits and keeping protected mode OFF will leave your system vulnerable.

After v4.0 upgrade I cannot select "Printing Preferences"

Recently I upgraded to V4.0. When I try to print an email or a web page I cannot select "Preferences" to modify print quality or color options. A message appears: Can not load library "LXBCPRP.DLL" Using Defaults Error 126 XP sp3. Lexmark Z605 Always worked with V3.x Still works on rest of system. After reading this forum I reset ALL printer items, upgraded and reinstalled printer drivers and other similar fixes from forum. All to no avail. Please help! Thanks in advance.

The solution I came up with was to buy a new printer. The main problem appeared to be that all Lexmark drivers available would not work on 64bit systems nor Win7 nor ver 4.x. Lexmark Vista drivers partly worked.
I found more issues when I upgraded to ver5.x a few weeks ago. but I found an add-on to help. It is "'''add-on compatability reporter 0.8.6'''". I did not go back to the old Lexmark printer, which is happy on an older XP machine.
The add-on may have worked, but I didn't try as all my systems are running well using the add-on. If you D/L it and try it, I had a learning curve problem with it's install and use. Follow the directions carefully and be prepared to have odd results, but finally after install, it worked to perfection.
I hope this helps those who still are having problems, and another thanks to all who helped me.

I used to be able to print stuff like coupons or patterns from websites but now for the last few months I get an error code 30 message. I have added nothing new, same printer, etc but I have let Firefox update. How do I fix this so I can print again?

I used to be able to go to a website and click their print button and it would print just fine. The only programs I will always update when they are available are Firefox, Avast Free Anti virus, and Malwarebytes. I think I may have updated Java too but it was after my printing problem began. I have the latest printer driver update installed which is the same version that I have been printing with before the error began. My printer is an Epson Stylus NX210 series All in One printer. My laptop is a Toshiba Satellite L650 series. I used to get the error message every time I tried to print a Michaels coupon but I was able to print from any other website I tried. If you are getting Siri when you double tap, then your home button must be sticking. Siri comes up when you hold the home button. Try tapping quickly twice. When that happens, the multi-tasking list comes up and you will see the app icon and then a thumbnail, or reduced size view of the app above it. You put your finger on that thumbnail and swipe upwards with your finger.
For that issue, you might want to do a reset of the phone. Hold the sleep/wake and home buttons together until you see the Apple logo and then release. The phone will reboot. This will not affect your data.

The system preferences say I'm not an Admin, but i'm the only person using my computer

EPrint prints photo using my main tray and not the photo tray

Thanks for reviewing my question. I just bought the HP Photosmart C410 printer and setup the ePrint. When I print a photo from my iPhone it prints on the photo on the 8.5 x 11 paper instead of the photo tray. What gives?

Hey PDonstant,
1. You can go into the setup menu on the printer and go into preferences. In preferences you can go to Device Printer Tray Select and choose prompt for tray. This will give you the option to print to photo paper or Legal size.
2. You can try downloading the HP ePrint Home & Biz app and printing from there. You have the option to select the paper size and type from the app.
Although I am an HP employee, I am speaking for myself and not for HP.

EPrint of photo Forces use of photo tray - I just want main tray

Whenever I try to ePrint a JPG file from my iPad or iPhone the printer always wants to use the photo tray and I don't see a way in preferences to deselect this options. On the printer preferences under External Device Printing I have selected main tray but this does not seem to make a difference.
I think this is s serious deficiency since I often just want a quick print on regular paper and not have to be forced into using an expensive photo tray paper.
Any suggestions, comments?

I’m sorry to hear you are having problems printing from your Samsung tablet to your Photosmart C309g printer.
I have included several documents about printing from your Android tablet. The HP Printer Control app replaced the HP All-in-one Printer app. By your post I'm not sure if you still have the HP ePrint app still installed as the printing goes through the ePrint app to print. If it's has been uninstalled that would explain why you are unable to access the settings.

Slow printer preferences - HPt2300

Hi all,
We have an issue with slow printer settings / preferences.
The issue first arose with AutoCad with delays of up to 2 minutes before the printer preferences appreared. After looking at AutoDesk forums we updated the drivers and firmware to the latest and got this down to 3 to 5 seconds.
However in Photoshop CS5 the delay is still approx 30 to 60 seconds. i.e. When you select the HPT2300 from the printer selection it takes about 30 seconds. Then when selecting the SETTINGS / PRINTER PREFs it then takes a further 30 seconds.
Office and other CS5 apps take about 15 seconds.
Is this normal and does anyone have possible solution to fix this or speed up the responmse time.
Environment is - Windows XP, VISTA and WINDOWS 7 - Same issue on all.
Printers are Network / IP based and not directly connected.

Can we save the printing preference of FR reporting per report per user?

We are using Hyperion Planning and Financial Reporting version 11.1.1.1. Some of our users will generate PDF for printing (HTML format is badly printed out).
However can we have the option to save the printing preference of each FR report? As some reports are in portrait and some are in landscape format, it is preferred users can setup the printing preference per user per report so that they can choose the paper size and printing orientation.

I'm unsure about the best setup for this, but here is some brainstorming:
- In Workgroup Manager or Directory, an administrator can designate a user to 'auto-accept' invitations if the user is available at that time.
- Ideally, one would be able to establish an ACL for auto-acceptance, so that a user or admin could designate a list of users/groups from whom a user should auto-accept invites.
- If a user is set to auto-accept, it is reasonable to assume that this user is either unable to use iCal or does not regularly check their calendar, so invites that are not auto-accepted should be handled somehow. For example, a notification could be e-mailed to the user, an invitation accept/decline message could be sent to the iCal account of a designated administrator or delegate, etc.
I am imagining this for the case of my division, in which we have one person scheduling for lots of people, but I think that the idea of being able to delegate a person to be able to add things to one's calendar without confirmation and to confirm invites from non-privileged users would be useful in other cases as well. For example, a boss wants an administrator/secretary to be able to schedule things on his/her calendar, but does not want this person to be able to see all of the details of existing items on that calendar. I suppose that in this case it would be unclear to which calendar the designate should add the event initially, but I'm sure that for many people the privacy of the boss's calendar is more important than the inconvenience of having to create a throwaway calendar for events created by the delegate.
If anyone has any thoughts to help refine this, please let me know and I will incorporate that into my writeup.

When printing a highlighted (selected) print range from an internet item pulled up through Firefox, the first line of the selected range is not printing or is partially cut off. This is not an issue with my printer, as printer prints the whole selected print range when using Internet Explorer or Word Doc applications. The problem only happens when using Firefox. Please advise on how to fix this. Is this a settings issue or do I need to download and update? Thx
