I sent my iPhone in for service last Friday..

The representative I spoke to told me that it would take 5 business days from the day I sent out my phone until I recieved it back. UPS confirmed deliverly on Tuesday September 3rd, but when I check my repair status on the Apple website, it still says my phone is "in transit." Any idea of what kind of time frame I'm looking at until I get it back? And why it hasn't been updated that my phone has even been recieved if the status is supposed to be updated every 24 hours.

No one in these user to user technical support forums could possibly have a clue.
Contact Apple and ask them.

    Hi all,
    I've been trying to book an iPhone in for service via the Apple Support site for a few weeks now because my nearest Apple store is about an hour and a half away. Every time I try and do this I get this error after clicking continue after doing the my address section.
    "Service is not available in this location. Please choose another solution (addrapi.08)"
    I've had to book another iPhone in for service before and never had this error, and I've also tried doing it from another PC with a different IP etc.and I get the same issue.
    Any help would be appreciated as I need to get my phone sorted

    I'm going to assume base off that message is that whatever you need done to your iphone - that location doesn't do that kind of service.

  • My wife was looking for me last Friday morning with the app find my phone.  The app showed that I was not where I said I was and she does not believe me.  How is the explanation for this mistake, I know where I was at but she is very upset.

    Please help!!! My wife has a Samsung galaxy 4s, and she was looking for me last Friday (09/19/2014) morning with the find my phone app.  I have a iPhone 5S and the app placed me in a location about 5 or 6 miles away from where I was actually at.  My wife if very up set and thinks I am lying to her.  Is there a way to get here the proper information so she does not have to feel like I am a lier.  This is a big problem and I need help. I can get video but it is very  expensive and takes a court order. I truly need help with this I have kids and this is problem is destroying our marriage.

    How was your wife using the Find My iPhone app from a Samsung phone? But, that question aside, your wife should educate herself on how GPS works, especially on a cell phone. GPS signals can be interfered with by trees, buildings, clouds. Off by several miles would be unusual, though.
    If your wife is tracking your cell phone and not believing what you tell her, you may want to consider counseling as there are some very serious issues that go way beyond the technology.

    I called apple last week and spoke with a level on support agent. After he could not solve the volume issue they sent me to level two. the level two tech took the call and told me right away that they were going to send me a new phone. I give him my credit card as a deposit so they would send a new phone and when I had the new phone I could then send the old one back. Well after a few days I called to check on the phone and found out he never placed the order and now they say they want to send it for repair some place in Texas. They did offer the rent me a phone for 29.00 while I wait for repair. I told them no rental for me. How bad is that, a hardware issue and they say they are going to send a new phone and never do then they offer a repair and to rent me a phone. I was wondering if anyone had sent in the phone for this issue yet. I do not think I am going to send it in and I think I am going to get my refund while I still can. I just thought I would check to see if anyone had sent the phone in for repair yet and how it worked out.

    I sent my iphone 3GS in for repair and when I checked on the status of the repair, it said repair request canceled.  Does this mean it has been fixed and on its way back or they are sending a new one back?  I am confused.

    Ah ,so you are in Europe ( helps to tell upfront as this is a WW forum )
    They will not repair your iPhone they will check it and assuming no user induced damage will send back a replacement refurbished unit  to you ( reason for no accessories )
    There must be a contact number where you arranged the return
    It is possibly going to Eire where Apple seems to ship most EU shipments from

    basically, i sent my iphone 4 running iOS 7 to repair my broken, cracked screen. i went to update my apps on my phone and it came up with the mans email with his apple ID. i then changed this back to mine but i was curious as to why he had his apple ID on there. I should also add that when i got the phone from him most apps were missing so i backed it up after i got home (which redownloaded all my apps) but they still needed updating. Ive fixed the problem now just want to know if he tampered with anything on my phone (why would his apple ID be on there).

  • All headphones give distorted, crackly sound. Sometimes no sound. Headphone jack broken? Apple expresslane support giving a "generic error" message whenever I try to send in for service...

    As in the title. For a while the headphone jack is occasionally crackly when the jack moves around in the port. It finally died today when I plugged it in and all the audio is heavily distorted and sometimes cuts out completely. Whenever I try to set up a service with Apple I keep getting this error message:
    We're sorry, but we are unable to complete your request at this time.
    Please try again in a few minutes or start over now.
    I can't get through to the Irish support phone number either, it keeps saying number not recognised. Is there any other way I can send my iphone in for service (closest genius bar is 500km away...)

    Probably not. First of all, 48 hours is not enough. 5-7 days is better. Secondly, if you did not turn it off the very instant you retrieved it, it probably did worse damage. Even if it powers on, it's very unlikely it will function 100%.

    A few things to try, in order...
    Pop your SIM out, clean it and reinsert.
    Reset your network settings.
    Contact AT&T and make sure your account is provisioned properly.
    Get a new SIM.
    Restore from your backup.
    Restore as new, i.e. without your backup.
    If still a problem, it's likely a hardware issue.  Take it to Apple for a warranty replacement.
