I set up my ipad using my sons itunes account instead of mine, can I change it?

I set up my ipad with my sons i tunes account by mistake, can I reset it with my account?

Yes.
One option would be to restore it as a new device, but I might be just as easy to change the AppleId assignments.
Open the Settings App and change the Apple ID in the following areas:
iCloud > Account
Mail,Contacts,Calednars > Accounts
Messages > iMessage > AppleID
FaceTime > AppleID
iTunes & App Stores AppleID
Game Center AppleID

  • HT1848 How do I transfer the songs from my desktop to my iPad using the same iTunes account? I can only sync the other way. Thanks

How do I transfer the songs from my desktop to my iPad using the same iTunes account? I can only sync the other way. Thanks

    DaisyDoodle,
The songs on your Shuffle should still be in your iTunes library.  That means you should just be able to connect your Nano to the same iTunes library and sync it just as you would with your Shuffle. There is no limit to the number of iPods, iPads, or iPhones you can sync to one computer, iTunes library, or account.
As for preparing the Shuffle for your husband, just restore it via iTunes and then let him sync it to his own iTunes library or if its the same iTunes library, let him configure it to sync only his content.
Here are instructions on how to restore the Shuffle if need be.

  • Can you set up apple tv using 2 different itunes accounts from 2 different macs in same household?

can you set up apple tv using 2 different itunes accounts from 2 different macs in same household?

No, you can only connect to one Home Sharing account at a time. If you want to see the content of the other Mac's library you will have to turn off Home Sharing on the Apple TV and log back in with the other iTunes account.

  • Can you have different face time accounts when two iPads use the same iTunes account?

I use one iTunes account for all apple products but want to use face time. Can I set it up so when we are not together we can face time each other.

Yes. In settings, FaceTime, just add an email. Email acts as a phone number. When you place a call to the other ipad, just make sure it's to that email.

  • Can I have two ipads use the same itunes account on 2 computers?

I just purchased a new iPad for my wife.  I currently have an iPad 2 with a ton of apps.  I;d like to be able to have her use the apps that I've already purchased, but still allow her the ability to sync the new iPad to her computer.  Can i do this?

Problem. You can't share apps or purchased content between two different iTunes accounts. The iPad(s) will be completely resynched (removing apps not associated with the current account) each time you synch, depending on how you synch. IMHO, not worth the effort.

  • Someone borrowed my ipad, now it keeps using her iTunes account instead of mine

How do I force my iPad to revert back to my iTunes account. I changed it in Settings. Is there another place I need to change?

  • Migrating iPad 1 from my iTunes account to somebody elses

I am going to buy an iPad 3rd Gen and I have an iPad 1st Gen. My wife an I, both have an iPhone 4S and we have 2 seperate Apple IDs.
I would like to give my iPad 1 to my wife and keep the iPad 3 for myself, but I would therefore like the iPad 1 to sync with my wife's iTunes account.
So... can I change the Apple ID of my iPad 1, and re-assign it to a different Apple ID so that my wife could sync her iPhone to the iPad?
    Thanking you in advance
    Kind regards
    Charles

Absolutely. Your wife can sign into her own account on your old iPad in Settings>Store>Apple ID. She can sign into the App Store and in iTunes as well by going to the bottom of the screen in the featured tab - in either app - and tapping on your ID in the bottom left corner - sign out of your account - and sign in with hers.
Any content that you have purchased that still remains on the iPad can only be updated by using your Apple ID since purchased content is always tied to the ID with which it is purchased.
In the event that you want to wipe your iPad so that your wife can start all over again go to Settings>General>Reset>Erase all content and settings or you can restore to factory settings within iTunes on your computer while the iPad is connected and with iTunes running. The Restore option is in the Summary pane of iTunes.

  • TS4062 How long should it take to set up my ipad using itunes?

How long should it take to set up my ipad using itunes? Everything went blank on my iPad and I am attempting set it up using itunes. It has been connected for 45 min and gives me a set up incomplete message if I attempt to exit.

I did some check on available sources on the topic and it seems that the app data is often causing a slow backup:
    What causes the slow backup?
It’s the Apps! Apps on the iPad might store data to work properly. Some do store a lot, some don’t. For instance a game saves some highscore data (not very much), where a newspaper App or a rss reader might save updated data (can be very much). I believe lots of iPhone users, that experiencing slow backups, have problems with one or many Apps that are leaking in terms of saving tons of tiny files to the iPhone, especially when they have a lot of Apps and when they did backups cross devices (i.e. iPhone 2G to iPhone 3GS).
The article on this website http://apdevblog.com/slow-itunes-sync-backup/ should provide more information and hopefully a fix for your issue!

  • Can I use the same iTunes account for 2 iPads without having the same apps on both?

Can I use the same iTunes account for 2 iPads without having the same apps on both? Everytime I try to sync my new iPad, it syncs all the apps that are on my account. If I can do this, can someone tell me how please???

Yes you can, easily.  When you plug the first pad in to sync, note the name of the pad on the last pane.  Set up for that device whatever you want to sync.  When you are done, plug the second pad in.  Make sure it has a different name on the left pane.   Then sync to that pad whatever you want.  I tunes will remember what you did on each pad, and will start from there the next time you plug in.

Apps are only tied to one account... You can set up two iTunes accounts on your computer, however, and let his iPad sync to his account. If he has never backed up his apps to a computer, however, he will have to redownload all the apps. Afterwards, he can backup to iCloud instead of your computer.

  • Using the same iTunes account, can two iPads use different phone nubers for Factime?

Using the same iTunes account and two different iPads, is it possible to associate each iPad to a different phone number?

They must be iPhone numbers and only if you have two iPhones that are associated with the same Apple ID. If you don't have two iPhone numbers, you can use another email address one one of the iPads in order to use FaceTime and Messages on both devices that are both using the same Apple ID.
Assigning a new email address to one of the devices.

I have the new iPad . I don't know how my sister's apple ID was set. I have all under my iTunes account but when i need to update my apps, a different apple ID come up! how do i change that?

Hi maggieanntb, your sister's Apple ID came up because an app(s) was downloaded using her account. To prevent that from happening, you would have to delete the app(s) that were downloaded on her's, and re-download them using your own Apple ID.

Reset your iPad and see if that helps.
Reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.
