I set up my mac mail account on the computer using all the same info as the phone but I still can't get mac mail on the computer.

Ever since icloud came out my desktop has been a traffic jam of pop ups. Apple Passwords are recognized in one app but rejected in another. I'm never able to set up my .mac mail it just won't receive.
The new iphoto is a complicated mess. Once you email photos to a friend you are stuck in the mail portion and have to close out to get out.

Thanks. I had to try and set up for another user. I would never even consider using comcast. So outdated it's almost a joke. I find it easier to only use my iCloud email on any of my devices. I just have any other email accounts forwarded to my me.com address and just reply from there. And if you use Gmail it doesn't play nice with Mac Mail.

I just bought my mom an ipad. How do I set up an itunes account for her on my mac where I already have one for myself? We do not necessarily read the same books or listen the same music, so I'd like them seperate, yet on my computer. Just for clarification, Niel's directions set up a new user account on the computer with its own iTunes library, not an iTunes "account" as such. "Account" is a misnomer. iTunes itself doesn't have accounts on the computer (yes, the store has accounts but that isn't on your computer). You can create multiple libraries with collections of media under one computer user account but this can be tricky to manage and you may be best off creating a user account for your mother with her own iTunes collection in that. It is possible to share things on the computer.

First thing you need to do is disable auto syncing in iTunes. This is from Edit>Preferences>Devices>Prevent iPods, etc.
Unfortunately, the only thing you can do is set up separate log in accounts for the laptop. This will allow you to have iTunes in each log in and they can have different content. iTunes cannot have separate content with the same log in and different Apple ID, but you can manage two phones with the same iTunes account. See if any of the information in this support document will help you http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1495 but the best solution is separate computer log in.

Yes create two users on that computer
One for each account, and then you will have 2 itunes libraries.
Control Panel, user accounts, add new account (give it admin rights).
Log off and then log in with the new account.
Make sure you log out and not switch accounts when moving between the two users.

HA! I figured the find my iphone out!!!!! You can have more than one icloud account in "Mail, Contacts and Calendars". So my husband's & kids' phone icloud account under "settings, icloud "is their individual @me.com account. Set it to everything you want EXCEPT Find My Iphone. Then under "settings, mail/contacts/calendars" you set up both accounts (your @me.com which may already be there), then add another with the main appleID and enable ONLY Find My Iphone. Now when any of us log into Find My Iphone from any device with our main apple ID for the app store, all the devices show up!!!! YIPPEE. I made my own day!
I think the message I got previously was because I hadn't disabled the find my iphone on the @me.com account first.

Go into Settings App and turn OFF Find My iPhone. It will ask for your old password, but in the future you can use your new Apple ID account. Just above the textarea that you use to enter the message text there is usually a button bar with buttons to add text formatting like Bold and Italic.<br />
That toolbar may also have a button to turn a text link into a clickable hyperlink (look for a chain like button).<br />
You can select the text and click that button to turn the link into a clickable hyperlink.<br />
If you can't find the button then hover them all to check the tooltip of each.

On the Mac Air launch iTunes. Then connect either the iPad or iPhone.
Select the iPad or iPhone under Devices left side of the iTunes window in the source list.
Then select Apps from the menu on the right.
If you don't see the apps listed there, from your iTunes menu bar (top of your screen), click Store > Authorize This Computer.
See if that makes a difference...
