I recently moved and I can no longer receive/send mail from my MacBook Pro.
When I click on the triangle to the right of my Inbox, the following message pops up:
Unable to Connect
There may be a problem with the mail server or network.
Verify the settings for account "MobileMe" or try again.
The server returned the error: The connection to the server
"p03-imap.mail.me.com" on port 993 timed out.
STAY OFFLINE TAKE ALL ACCOUNTS ONLINE
I'm not sure I've ever seen the p03- in my incoming mail server address before. My instinct would be to go in and try and delete that but the entire box is gray-ed over so it cannot be changed nor edited.

FYI, you probably would benefit from using "replace mode". This is enabled by clicking on the orange X in the transport.
This will make Logic behave more like a tape machine, in that any punch ins will replace the audio its recording over. The main difference from a tape machine though, is that the audio is still on the hard drive. You can either simply undo, or "peel back" the original audio.
Also, understanding that Logic can have many tracks assigned to the same audio object will help here, if you were unaware.
So each time you take a new pass at the vocal, simply mute the previous track, and record on the new track (same audio object) This way, you don't have multiple passes piling up on top of each other, should you decide to work that way.

Ive been using logic for a while now and this has never been a problem. When I record audio lets say vocals and I have the overlap option on, when we swing around for a new take because he or she mess up why does the audio underneath not go away. Answer: Because I have overlap on. True or False. Ok so now we lay vocals again he needs two tracks to get his 16 bars down. So after all is said and done I try to slice the start and end points so I can combine the tracks, But the other takes are getting in the way. Like when I select a certain region to move it, the other mistakes start to show and I cant seem to get rid of them. From now on Im going to delete any take we dont use right then and there during the time of recording. Im not into being spoon feed, just help me define what it is Im doing so I can know what to look for in the manual. Is it under managing audio or what. Thanks to all. I know this is something by now I should understand but hay what can I say.

I get this message "request timed out" everytime i tried to play a video .

I've been having this problem for serval months now and it's annoying at first i used to watch videos and movies normal , but now everytime i try to visit a website to watch a movie when i click play i get this message " request timed out " after two minutes , i have downloaded google chrome , and it worked fine only for serval mins and then when i try to play or watch movies it's still giving the same error , btw i'm connected to internet via my home wifi connection , and yeah i restarted the ipad and switched the router off and on again and nothing changed , what is wrong with my ipad , how could i solve this annoying issue !

Every time I try to purchase a song, "session has timed out" shows up after I click "agree" to the terms!? I seem to be in the exact same scenario as 'SportsBarn' above: Itunes support have replied repeatedly with the same "solutions" but nothing has helped or even been applicable. I have an older laptop, 2005 Powerbook running OS X 10.4 Tiger so it's not compatible with the latest iTunes 10.5.2 which requires minimum OS X 10.5. I've been using the balance already in my iTunes account (from redeemed giftcards over the past few years) with no problem, until recently (my last successful purchase was October 2011). I wonder if it's the older OS or just a redemption glitch even with newer computers?

Hello.
Today I got the opportunity to work with a Muse user with the same issue after performing the troubleshooting steps in the post above we decided to contact the host.
Later i came to know that host took Muse user's IP and they were able to unblock it and muse started connecting to FTP host.
I another scenario Host suggested Muse user to add :21 to the FTP address and then Muse was able to connect.
Eg ftp.domain.com:21
Please try the 2 suggestion above and let me know if it works.

Iphone 5 Screen is Frozen Connection Timeout Error Connection to this app has timed out

I upgraded to IOS 7 just a few hours before my Iphone 5 screen froze and I cannot make changes - I have a Connection Timeout Error with Connection to this app has timed out. With Ok in blue. The screen doesn't respond, I can turn off the phone, tap OK or do anthing. Any advice on how I can reset or fix?

Check for any anti-virus or anti-spyware software you might have. Temporarily disable that to continue. Normally this is what will cause a timeout. I assume you have a good Internet connection?

Good afternoon! You have faced a problem as yours the Internet connection (wi-fi) is not enough, for adequate loading and mismatches speed of work of a browser... As a result the browser takes fault on itself and the message gives out to you...
You need more stable conect if you licke free wi-fi conection ,coze mane sites don't think about users that&a heave very hardling content ...it's badly for mobile and wi-fi conected users ...so sory !

I should know this but is iLife included with Lion?

I have a 2008 iMac 24" and upgraded to Lion today, iLife 08 was installed when I received the machine and I never upgraded to iLife 09. After upgrading this morning I was surprised to see that ILife 11 did not appear, was iLife 11 including in the Lion install? Is there something I am missing on upgrading to the newest version of iLife. Thanks.

I can't seem to find where I can adjust the number of rings (or time) my iPhone rings until voice mail kicks in... that, combined with (in my opinion) the low volume of the iPhone... I'm always missing calls. Surely there must be a way to do this???

Silly question - I should know this ....

When my Mac boots, I have a couple of servers which are in the login items, so they auto-mount on the desktop. One is the Time Capsule disc and another is a Windoze PC shared drive. All works fine.
The only annoying bit is that on boot, the servers auto mount and open a finder window to show the contents - even if I close the window down before shutdown, or anything else, the same windows pop up on automount.
Anyone know what I need to do so just the server icons mount, but the annoying Finder window don't appear ?

I don't remember what it's called or how to do it.
I want to create a little text bubble that appears on mouseover a particular word, similar to the Alt text that appears upon mouseover an image.
The word I want to mouseover may or may not be a link - not sure yet.

The delay is set automatically by the browser. To get a faster response, you can use CSS. You'll find a lot of results if you Google "CSS tooltips".
Unfortunately, IE6 supports the :hover pseudo-class only on links. If you're using Dreamweaver CS4, you can use the Spry Tooltip widget, which works cross-browser (as long as JavaScript is enabled).

HT4623 Request timed out message

I keep getting this request has timed out when going through the activation process of my iPhone 5 (when finishing set up of iCloud, iMessage and FaceTime.

If this is a new project you shouldn't be using this code. The ReportDocument.Load() overloaded method is there to help people migrate their code from a non-managed to a managed environment. You should be using the PSReportFactory or the ReportAppFactory to get your reports from Enterprise.
The one you choose will depend on what you need to do with the report. You'll get better performance out of PSReportFactory but you won't be able to manipulate the report. ReportAppFactory will allow you to manipulate the report but shouldn't be used for ALL your reports. RAS will simply crash if you throw too much at it.
In your case you'll likely want to look at what the Cache Server is doing. It may not be able to get back to your application server. If you admins said it isn't the firewall I'd challenge them by asking how they know that? The Cache and RAS servers communicate on random TCP ports if you don't do a manual configuration in the CMC.

also have installed JDK6.0 at c drive and have also added the bin folder in the path directory.

Can somebody tell what exactly should be done for JSP Timing Out. I mean there should be something for that.. So many people have got the issue. Today night after work I am going to sit and diagnose the issue.
If anybody can give any pointers/directions as to how this is to be diagnosed. That would be of immense help.

Timed out issue in jsp page!

It is really amazing for me to see this issue in my application which I deployed in Oracle Application Server 10g r2.
I am using JDeveloper 10g to create jsp pages.
On one jsp page i am displaying 15 html tables for a report.
All tables have 1 query to get records from oracle 10g database.
Am opening one connection and than one by one running queries just before each table and rendering data through ResultSet
(which is scrollable).
If I test this page from JDeveloper, it is displaying fine.
But when I deploy this page in Oracle Application Server 10g,
and create a portlet and show this jsp page in portlet and open this page,
this page most of the time giving 'TIMED OUT', and a few times displaying report properly.
I tried PreparedStatement to run multiple queries for Oracle DB, but couldn't make it successfully.
BTW,
I checked my OAS log, it shows following error:
