I should qualify for Education Pricing... correct?

I am not a student currently enrolled in college, nor a teacher.
I have, however, been working for the New York State Department of Education in P-16 EMSC & OHE (Elementary, Middle, Secondary and College & Office of Higher Education) in the Office of Teaching Initiatives for nearly 3.5 years now.  As "Staff and Faculty" of a Higher Education Institution, I would assume that I am qualified, though the Apple drop down menu only shows our department under K-12 listed for our zip code (we do have general classes/GED in the building as well).
I have asked different supervisors in my Office if they know anything about the promotion, or for whom I might speak with at the department for verification, and though many of them believe I am eligible, no one has been able to provide me with a definitive answer.
Has anyone here in a similar situation been verified for purchases?  Or know where I would be able to find verification for this?  Does anyone here know?  I have contacted Apple via email, thought I know the weekend wait may take a while.   Now that Lion has been released, I would like to order a new iMac to upgrade from and replace my (sadly) dying Core 2 Duo iMac and would like to get in on this promotion if at all possible as soon as possible.
Thanks.

Thanks.  I have checked there and their terms of service, but it still remains a little fuzzy on exactly what Apple defines an "Institution" as.
Do they mean high school, college/university AND state/government facility?
I notice from other questions on the subject on this forum that people have mentioned using their ".edu" mails as verification... but I do not have an .edu email.  I have an NYSED.gov email.
Perhaps I will just call them this week if I don't get a response back via email.
Thanks again.

  • Eligible for education pricing?

    Hi,
I'm a gonna be a senior in high school but I was wondering if I qualify for the education discount for buying a macbook pro. I work every summer at a private school that runs a enrichment camp and am called faculty there because I manage the tech department and assist for teachers of classes. I am on payroll there. Does this make me eligible for student/teacher discount? The more money I can save the better so I am hoping I am.
It is so annoying that they don't give us high schoolers any love. We are like one of their biggest consumer bases, at least where I'm from. Everyone in high school has a mac here. They should give us some incentive to return by offering discounts and promotions for our age group.
(ps the camp is for middle schoolers so the age group is right)

  • Education Pricing on iPad

    Hi,
I was looking for education pricing on the iPad and was surprised not to find any. Given how the iPad is being targetted towards students, it definitely makes sense to tap into that market by offering a discount. Hoping the powers that be will take notice and make appropriate changes!!
Does anyone know of a reason Apple does not offer the discount on iPads?
    Thanks,

Even for those state contracts, every one I've seen offer no discounts on single quantities on iOS devices or other iPods, though I can't say I've seen every contract so it's not impossible that there's an exception somewhere. Students cannot purchase on those contracts, though, at least not that I ever encountered.
    Regards.

  • Education pricing for tutors?

    Hi,
I am a full time tutor. I would like to purchase a MacbookPro and would like to know if I can qualify for the education pricing available on the online store? Thank you.

To qualify for that you usually need to be a student, staff, or faculty member of some accredited educational institution and have a .edu address.
If you have those things, then you should be set, otherwise you'll have to actually call Apple. These forums are generally user to user. That way Apple can take all the credit and disavow all the bad.

  • Ok so am in 9th grade and for christmas i can get a macbook pro i was wondering if i can get the education pricing and am in public school i read it and it says k - 12 school

    please respond

    It doesn't appear so. :-(
If either of your parents works for a school, or you have a sibling in college or accepted to college, they would qualify for the discount:
Apple offers special education pricing on Apple computers, software and select third party products to college students, parents buying for a college student, or teachers, homeschool teachers, administrators and staff of all grade levels. Students who have been accepted to college are also eligible.
K12 - Any employee of a public or private K-12 institution in the United States is eligible, including homeschool teachers. In addition, school board members who are currently serving as elected or appointed members are eligible. PTA or PTO executives currently serving as elected or appointed officers are eligible.

  • Is there education pricing for refurbished MacBooks?

Is there education pricing available on refurbished MacBooks?

    LowLuster wrote:
No need to call and or contact Apple. Just go to the Refurb website page and if there is no educational discount link then they don't offer it on the refurbs.
Qualifying an answer with 'I don't think so' certainly is not definitive.  Also your logic is not complete or comprehensive.
That refurbished units are not included in the education section may suggest that they are ineligible but does not necessarily exclude them.  It simply may be an omission which is not that unusual in business.  Unless there is a direct statement excluding them, or a statement that ONLY these items are eligible for the discount, it remains an open issue.   Receiving an affirmative answer from Apple does settle this by removing such doubts.
    Ciao.

  • GPO - Restricts the UI languages Windows should use for the selected user - not applying correctly on RDS 2012 R2

    Hi All,
we have a Citrix XenApp 7.5 Farm with Windows Server 2012 R2 Servers and multiple (english, german, italian, spanish, french...) languages installed.
I've created a GPO with settings 'Restricts the UI languages Windows should use for the selected user' to for example 'German'.
Now when a user logs on to the server, the UI language is in german, but when i open Control Panel\Language: There is still English (United States) with Keyboard Layout: US, German.
It seems that the GPO is not changing all settings correctly to german.
Does anybody know what could be wrong?
    best regards,
    Siegmund

    Hi Siegmund,
    >>Now when a user logs on to the server, the UI language is in german, but when i open Control Panel\Language: There is still English (United States) with Keyboard Layout: US, German
Based on the description, the policy setting should have been applied successfully. Here, did we logged onto the server via remote desktop services? If yes, what's the keyboard layout on the computer we used to RDP to the server? Before going further,
I assume that this can be caused by Auto detect Remote Keyboard layout feature introduced since Windows Server 2008.

  • I need language dictionnaries for spell checking/correcting. I have firefox nightly v.27.0a1. Should I keep this version and wait or go back to classic firefox?

The French and Arabic dictionaries seem to be not compatible with firefox nightly. I have the latest version: 27.0a1. Will updates be made in the coming future to fix that?
    Many thanks by advance!
    A loyal firefox user.

Do you confirm that I should download and use firefox "classic" version instead of nightly to be able to install the French / Arabic dictionary add-ons for spell checking/correcting when writing in the browser?

  • Education pricing for mac pro

Does anyone know if I can recieve education pricing for a new mac pro?

The education discount is extended to whatever specific products Apple chooses. I'm not sure how you are looking, but I see Mac Pros on the Education listings for my local university.
If your school is not approved that could be the reason why. I can only tell you what I know for here in the US.

  • Hi! I'm currently in Singapore & my sister's in the Philippines, I'm planning to buy a Mac for her thru education pricing, do you think they'll allow me eventhough she's studying in the PH?

    Please help me (:
by the way, she'll be coming over here next week, is it enough if I just show them her ID in the Philippines?
    thanks (:

If you’ve been accepted to college, are a college student, or are the parent of a college student, you can take advantage of special pricing on Mac computers and certain software and accessories. College and K-12 faculty, staff, and professors can also use Apple education pricing.
You might want to go apple/students/how to buy and get some more info than what I've given. I tried getting the discount because I have two kids who use the computer for school and I couldn't get it. I would think if she has some sort of proof that shes been accepted to a college or in college you could just take her with you and pick up the bill when she's done shopping for her computer.
