I sold my MacBook Air and wiped it clean, however the purchaser can't use some of the programmes as they say they are still registered to me in iCloud. I've tried unregistering the device but it's not in the list of my devices.

I recently sold my MacBook Air and before I let it go, I completely wiped it clean and re-set to factory settings. However, the new purchaser is having trouble accessing some of the programmes as it is saying they are still registered to me in my iCloud account. I've tried unregistering the device, but it doesn't appear in any of my device lists.
I'm completely baffled.

The new owner will have to redownload any software that came from the App Store, including OS X upgrades, under his or her Apple ID. If you ever updated the bundled iLife applications (Garage Band, iMovie, and iPhoto) through the App Store, you can't transfer those either.

By far the most common problem hardware-wise seems to be scuffs on the aluminium. Yours is the first report of a faulty screen I've seen.
If you use the same Apple ID on both devices it'll sync whatever you want it to - music/apps/photos/messages/etc.

Check your junk or spam mail folder. Also, if you established a rescue email, it could be going to that email address. If all else fails:

I'm trying to sync a 4s so that it can be activated w ATT...my computer says that I need to have 11.1 or higher in order to do that but when I download from the itunes site nothing happens and I still can't sync phone...what am I doing wrong?
The screen that says "Download Now" also shows the proposed iTunes version number (in the box below):

When will Apple ever make it convenient for the customer, I just bought an iPad Air and I'm very upset that I can only use iMessage, iPads are the biggest mistake to buy if you like texting family and friends. If they were "unused", then it is very unlikely that "Find My Mac" or "Find My iPhone" is set up in order to locate, erase and/or remotely disable the systems.
All you are really left with is ordinary law enforcement in order that you report the incident and hope that they surface in that manner. -

You do realize that the message means that you need to download iTunes on the computer and not on the iPad - correct? I just want to make sure that you know that.

See if your friend will let you access the App Store, where you can sign in using your Apple ID and download the installer. You can use this free program to copy the installer and update your computer.

I have a personal Macbook Pro, which I have had for a very long time. My iTunes account has a lot of music from CD's but also has a lot of purchased music. I also have a Macbook Air for work and have purchased a lot of music on this computer using the same iTunes account. Is there a way to get the music to show up on both computers being that they are from the same account?

If you want to be abe to download all your music from iCloud, you will need to sign up for iTunes match, that will upload or match all your music between your two machines, including your ripped CDs. -
I have a ghost app waiting....cannot delete or reinstall.Help!!!
This is my boilerplate post for apps that have the "waiting" icon problem. If you have tried any of these already, just skip those. However, it never hurts to try again.
Tap on the "waiting" icon and try to pause the download. Then tap it again to resume.
Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.
Make sure that you do not have a stalled download in iTunes - a song or podcast .... if you have a download in there that did not finish, complete that one first. Only one thing can download at a time on the iPad so that could be what is causing the problem.
If that doesn't work - sign out of your account, restart the iPad and then sign in again.
Settings>iTunes & App Store>Apple ID. Tap your ID and sign out. Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
Go back to Settings>iTunes & App Store>Sign in and then try to update again. Tap one waiting icon only if necessary to start the download stream.
You can also try deleting the waiting icons - tap and hold down on an icon until it wiggles - the tap the X on the icon to delete it. Then try to download again.
You can try resetting all settings. Settings>General>Reset>Reset All Settings. You will have to enter all of your device settings again.... All of the settings in the settings app will have to be re-entered.
If all else fails, download the updates or the apps in iTunes on your computer and then sync the content to your iPad. -
There are some iOS apps appear in the file sharing list of my iPad that does not appear in my iPhone file sharing list. Why is that and why iBook App does not show on the sharing list of my iPad?
The apps which show on the file sharing section on your iPad when connected to your computer's iTunes, you have exactly the same apps installed on your iPhone - they are not separate iPad and iPhone apps that you have installed on your iPad/iPhone, and only the iPad version supports file sharing ?
For iBooks, that won't show, it doesn't support file sharing. You can add ibooks / epubs / PDFs to your computer's iTunes library (the iBooks app if you are using a Mac with OS X Mavericks on it) via File > Add To Library, and you sync them to a device via its Books tab :
If you want to copy them off the device to your computer's iTunes (to the iBooks app on Mavericks) then File > Devices > Transfer Purchases will copy them over (that will copy PDFs and epubs from the iBooks app on your device, not just ibooks). -

You need to ask Apple to reset your security questions; ways of contacting them include clicking here and picking a method for your country, phoning AppleCare and asking for the Account Security team, and filling out and submitting this form.
They wouldn't be security questions if they could be bypassed without Apple verifying your identity.

Not technically, no, but around the beginning of when I got my tablet in
July, an Assistive Touch type thing appeared, but I didn't download it.
That was also in Japanese, but I couldn't figure out a way to delete it.
However, it somehow disappeared without my noticing or doing anything about
it. I feel like they're connected. So the issue's been going on for longer
