I spent .75 and about 16.50 was deducted from my account

Hi
I bought a song for .69 cents and about 16.50 was taken out of my account. How can I get my money back?
I purchased two 25 dallor gift cards. I bought two books for 14.99 and one song for .69. It shows I only have 1.07 left. The math doesn't add up.

  • Money was deducted from my account after i added my visa card number to my account

    I was planning on buying an app from iTunes, but before doing so, I decided to add my Visa card number to my account so buying applications from iTunes would be easier in the future. Right after I added my card number to my account, I receive a message saying that money was deducted from my account, and there was no explanation why. I highly suspect that the company has taken the money out of my card for some reason, since I haven't used this card for a few months and the application I was trying to buy is really important for my upcoming project!
    I initially had $2.02 to buy the application, which was more than enough, but suddenly $1.09 was deducted from my card and now I only have $0.93, which isn't even enough to buy the application!
    Please help me!!!!!!

    Each time that you add or change your card details a small temporary store holding charge may be applied to check that the card details are correct and valid and that it's registered to exactly the same name and address as on your iTunes account - your card issuer should remove within a few days or so.

    iTunes Match is for music only.
    If you purchased it on your phone, and the purchase went through successfully, then it should be in its Music app - when you have audiobooks in the Music app you should get an Audiobooks tab at the bottom of the app, possibly via the More button. Does that show ? Or does it show in Settings > General > Usage > Manage Store (under the 'storage' heading) > Music (when there are audiobooks on your phone there will be an 'audiobooks' section there) ?
    If you can find it then you can copy it over to your computer's iTunes library via File > Devices > Transfer Purchases menu option so that you can take a backup copy of it.

    The problem is with an item in the 'Latest Purchases' section.  When I click on 'Report a Problem' it takes me to the support page.  I have gone to the link you provided many times... so far it always says to check again in a few minutes and never works.
    I would really like to hear back from Apple directly and get some assistance with this issue.

    If you are seeing a debit that you are unaware of, look at your purchase history to see if that debit shows up. If it does and it was not you then there is a report and issue for that purchase option.

    You've checked the purchase history on your account (Store > View My Account menu option on your computer's iTunes), and have you made any in-app purchases or have any auto-renewing subscriptions ?
    If there isn't anything shown then have you added or changed your credit card details ? I think that 55 rupees is about $1, which is the right amount for a temporary store holding charge , which is applied to check that the card details are correct and valid, and which should disappear off your account within a few days (though it might vary by bank/credit card company).

    I'm having a similar problem, but I do have the key and is not working anyway.
    My old pc was running on windows 7 and my new one is an apple running on Lion.
    My phone is an Iphone IV and I can see all the bookmarks there.
    In order to sync, what I did was click on the "I don't have the device with me", I entered the key that was provided and the process finish ok. It says congratulations, etc, etc.
    But the bookmarks are not there, I tried merging data and replacing data on this computer options but is the same.
    Any suggestions?

    First, I presume you're buying for yourself, not gifts for others, correct? Gifts cannot be purchased using a credit balance. If you are buying for yourself, another user in the forums posted this as the reply from the iTunes Store when this issue was brought up. Perhaps it will help you. Regards.
    I'm sorry you weren't able to make a purchase using your store credit. To purchase items on the iTunes Store with your store credit, your account information in your user profile needs to be corrected. I'll walk you through this process to get you back up and running in no time. 
    1) Visit the My Apple ID website at:  http://appleid.apple.com 
    2) If the site is not displayed in your preferred language, click the Change Language link in the upper-right corner, type the name of your language in the field that appears, then click the Save button. 
    3) Click the "Manage your account" link. 
    4) Type your iTunes Store account name (which is your Apple ID) in the Apple ID field, type your password in the password field, then click the Sign In button. 
    5) Click "Addresses" in the column on the left. If you have multiple shipping addresses, remove any out-of-date or duplicate addresses by clicking Delete. Also, make sure the state or province field is filled out correctly for each address. To edit an address, click Edit. Edit all of your shipping addresses and make sure the appropriate state is selected in the State drop-down menus. 
    6) Now click "Phone Numbers" on the left. The area codes should be in the area code fields and the phone numbers should be in the phone number fields. If an area code is missing, or if it is in a phone number field, your account information may not save properly. 
    7) Make any other necessary corrections, then click the Save Changes button. 
    8) Click Log out in the upper-right corner.  When you make your next purchase on the iTunes Store, you will be asked to review your billing information. At this point, you can change your information or simply click Done at the bottom of the screen to proceed. Once you click Done, you should be able to purchase on the iTunes Store using your store credit.

    For it being declined, what are you trying to use as your payment method, credit card, debit card ... ? If it's a debit card then they are not still accepted in all countries, and (going on posts on here, including from people in India) where they are still accepted not all cards seem to work. Do you have a different card that you could try ?
    For a card to have a chance of being accepted it needs to be registered to exactly the same name and address (including format and spacing etc) that you have on your iTunes account, and have been issued by a bank in the country where you and your iTunes account are. If it is then you could check with the card issuer to see if it's them that are declining it, and if not then try contacting iTunes Support (these are user-to-user forums) and see if they know why it's being declined (but you might not be able to use the debit card that you are trying) : http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/ - click on Contact iTunes Store Support on the right-hand side of the page, then Account Management
