Same issue here- I can airplay my amazon prime library just fine from my iphone 5 but on my macbook- (mavericks, 15 inch 2013 retina with quad core i7, nvidia 650 M and SSD) it just sputters and lags.
I have noticed web video is considerably worse than local content, giving me pauses of up to 2 or 3 seconds in which video stops but audio continues in the amazon player. Youku video, however, seems relatively stable. Our subscription speed is 25 mbps, so that should be plenty to stream SD video from Amazon and doesn't account for why it would be nice and stable from the iphone, but not the mbp.
Playing light, locally hosted steam sidescrollers like Limbo is better but gives periodic drops in framerate on the Tv. when mirroring the framerate remains steady on the MBP screen.
Games airplayed from my iphone seem relatively stable, though with a noticably lower framerate on the TV than on the phone.
It seems these issues have abated considerably since yesterday's Apple TV update, but are still curious nonetheless and I'm not sure that the update yesterday was specifically meant to address those issues or if I'm just getting a time with less network interference now.
Comcast recently installed a new router/modem/phone combo, replacing our old separate modem and router setup. I'm going to test if putting the network on a different channel helps.

Safari on My late mac mini 2012 plays shakey videos on youtube

When i play back videos on youtube the is a problem with the video it shakes however the sound is not effected and it only happens on Safari, I have updated flash player and still I can not watch videos properly.

Open System Preferences > Flash Player then select the Advanced tab.
Click Delete All under Browsing Data and Settings
Not empty the Safari cache.
From your Safari menu bar click Safari > Preferences then select the Advanced tab.
Select: Show Develop menu in menu bar
Now click Develop from the menu bar. From the drop down menu click Empty Caches.
Now try a video.

So i'm using safari 7.0.1 when i play a when I play a video in youtube then go back in my browser to select another video i gewt the audio playing again without the video its really annoying

any ideas

iTunes saves out a new copy of the entire library file every time a change is made to the library. This is not new behavior.
The slowdowns I have seen like this have ususally been caused by:
A virus
or
Some anti-virus software is incorrectly interpreting the rewriting of the file and is causing a problem.
Either way, you should definitely update your anti-virus software and definitions to the latest, and run a full scan of your system. If that does not help, you may want to recreate your iTunes library.

Lagging Video, then sound drops after 19 seconds and 4 frames

I'm having a problem with log and transfer this morning.
I have an hpx170 that I am transferring from (p2 based), when I am setting my in and out points for transfer it plays perfectly fine, audio and video are synced. But after I've logged and transferred the clip and its in my bin I drag it to the timeline and play it back and video starts to lag behind audio and after 19 seconds or so, audio stops. I thought maybe my mac couldn't keep up with the footage (dvcpro hd 720/24p) in final cut only but when I render out a .mov file it still has the same problem in quicktime. I've tried importing at pro res and pro res hq but neither changes my situation. help!

I have gone up to tools and to the advanced pulldown option but i get an error that says: "00022jb.mov - file does not contain dvcpro, dvcpro-hd, or dvcpro-50 ntsc video."
I shot in 24p and final cut recognizes it as 23.97 fps
In addition to this, I just noticed that when I transfer an entire clip, where it would display a filled in circle for a whole clip transfer, it only displays a half circle saying that it only transferred a partial clip.

Don't worry, there is nothing wrong with your computer. I have the same issue, and it is a bug. Sometimes a restart solves it. Sometimes and if you use subtitles, you will see the first line being displayed but the second one not, etc.
I have reported that to Apple and there is hope for a fix.

Do this on your iTunes program on the computer instead. Your Credit Card used on the profile is probably maxed.

Thanks for your response, I forgot to add that the five 3uk sims we have in use, I have tried all of them none of them are recongnised non of them have pin codes, I even purchased four more sims Tmobile (original carrier) Vodaphone, 3 and giffgaff.
