I started to upload a photo book

I just finished my first iphoto book. It assembled fine but is stuck in upload. It's been loading for two hours. I haven't received any errors yet. Not sure what to do. Do you know how long it should take to upload 34 page photo book.

I solved the problem. Had nothing to do with Mac or iphoto. Problem must be my the internet connection to my provider.
Upload at my office worked without any problem. One problem solved, now i am aware with a lot of discussions with my providers helpdesk  ;-)

I can not upload the photo book upload process stops. I have to finish my mac iphoto and reboot. What is going wrong here?

There are 9 different versions of iPhoto and they run on 10 different versions of the Operating System. The tricks and tips for dealing with issues vary depending on the version of iPhoto and the version of the OS. So to get help you need to give as much information as you can. Include things like:
    - What version of iPhoto.
    - What version of the Operating System.
    - Details. As full a description of the problem as you can. For example, if you have a problem with exporting, then explain by describing how you are trying to export, and so on.
    - History: Is this going on long? Has anything been installed or deleted? - Are there error messages?
    - What steps have you tried already to solve the issue.
    - Anything unusual about your set up? Or how you use iPhoto?
Anything else you can think of that might help someone understand the problem you have.

Hi, I cannot upload my photobook either.it gets assembled but that's about it. it doesn't start uploading anymore (crashing????).

I have safe booted. no change
i have tried to see my book before uploading using "preview book" and there is no preview and it freezes

    Thx for your help

Boot into Safe Mode, Mac OS X: Starting up in Safe Mode, and create a preview PDF of the book as described in this Apple Document:
Check the PDF file for any errors and, if none,  order the book while in the Safe Mode.  Save the PDF file to compare with the printed version when it arrives.

  • Re error 8 message/corrupt photo when trying to buy a photo book

I am trying to upload a photo book, which I have done many times before, and this message comes up: "com.apple.chameleon.component
General.error 8." The book  stops uploading at page 4 and sites a corrupt photo. How do I find out which photo is causing the problem? The same thing happens when I try to preview the book. Help!

Remove the photos on page 3 and preview - if it works re place the photos on p 3 oneone and  preview until you find the problem photo - if the problem is not on p 3 then  do the same on p4 and p5 is necessary

  • Pse7 new to photo books, stuck on shutterfly

i have pse7 and am trying to do a test run uploading a photo book created in photoshop to shutterfly.  whenever i click "order" it will prepare my book for ordering and then prompt me to kodak.  i don't want kodak.  i want to bring my work to shutterfly.  when i try through the "more options" tab, i first uploaded just the jpegs, not the entire digital scrapbook page, and on a second attempt, uploaded the scrapbook pages - but not a full left or right, rather the midsection of the two-page spread.
i know there's a simple solution.  i just haven't been able to figure it out with three screaming toddlers and a deadline.
i've never posted before, but am hoping someone will come along with help.  thanks!

    Hi,
Printing the photobook created on Photoshop Elements with Shutterfly is not supported. You can convert your already created photobook to jpg files and load them to shutterfly and then create a new photobook there. Please let me know if you need help with that.

  • Moved iPhoto to external HD now photos won't upload to Photo Stream

I moved iPhoto to an external HD connected to my iMac and now Photo Stream says it is uploading photos but nothing is happening.
After moving iPhoto (and selecting the new location as the default by holding down the Option key when opening the app) I added some photos by dragging them from Finder to iPhoto Library Photos.  I then dragged them from Library Photos to Photo Stream and all appeared to be fine.   However after an 2 hours it still says "Uploading 140 photos" but no photos are moving to the Photo Stream folder.
    Any help would be appreciated!
    RL

Quit out of iPhoto, relaunch and try again.  Also the following may help:
Disable Photo Stream in the System/iCloud preference pane
and in iPhoto's Photo Share preference pane.
Reboot and reenable both respectively. See if that willjump start the upload to Photo Stream.

  • Whenever i start iphoto, it starts connected to Facebook and start uploading my photos to face book which i do not want., whenever i start iphoto, it starts connected to Facebook and start uploading my photos to face book which i do not want.

Whenever I start iphoto on my macbook pro, its start connecting to facebook and uploading my photos, which i donot want to upload.  Please advise, how to stop iphoto to connecting from facebook.

Then change that setting in iPhoto. First disconnect your system from the net, IE turn off the WiFi and disconnect the Ethernet cable if one is connected. Then open iPhoto and open the preferences and in the Accounts section remove Facebook. You might also want to look in the sharing section.

Just got off the phone with apple support.  If the photo book completes the assembly process but fails during the upload process the problem is in their overloaded servers. They just started a free shipping promotion for the holidays which has increased the traffic dramatically. I bought a calendar a week ago and it went right through. I'm going to try again during less peak times.

Try Old Toad's solution here:   See   Re: iphoto : upload impossible to print a book
Try to boot into Safe Mode and order this way, or sign into a different user account and try to order as a different user.

    Hi shldr2thewheel,
it has been a while since we have last spoke, I would like to let you know, I am still working on getting used to the switch from windows to a Mac/Apple system. I do have a new question for you, I did purchase In Design CS5.5 through journeyed.com through Cuyahoga Community College of which I attend as a student, is there a way to purchase an online book through iTunes to learn that as well? Also, you know me, the struggling student, I would also, when and if the book can be purchased through the iTunes, would need to know if you do know of a much easier book for struggling students like myself and at a reasonable price as well for the In Design CS5.5 program. Our campus bookstore had closed early, and, so did the colleges library and our local library here where I do live, so, I cannot go to either place to purchase a book or to take out a book, plus cash funds are low at this moment as well but, I do have money left on the iTunes account to use, if it can be used. So, can it be used, the iTunes money, towards finding a low priced online book? I am in great need of assistance as I have a project due for my one course for this Tuesday, September 4, 2012.
Sincerely in need of help once again,
    Kim

  • Why can I not upload an assembled photo book to Apple?

I have created a photo book which has 76 pages.  I am able to assemble the book and preview and save it as a pdf, but when I try and buy the book through Apple, my computer hangs when it gets to the Upload stage.  I have tried clearing the cache and using different proxy servers, all to no avail.  This is extremely frustrating as I have a deadline to get the book printed by.  I can get no help from Apple as the call centre is not open on Sundays in Asia, and when I call the US number, it drops my call after promising to connect me to an apple expert!
    Any ideas anyone?

Boot into safe mode and try

  • Photo book uploading problem

I have created a photo book in Elements 7 and cannot get it to upload to Kodak.  My OS is Windows 7 and I am using Noton 360 security software.  I make it through the ordering of the photo book and the uploading seems to go to completion, approximately 20 minutes for the 568MB file, but then after a pause I get a pop up message saying  "There was a problem with your internet connection.  Please check that there is not a firewall blocking Photoshop Elements from accessing the internet and that you have an internet connection."  My ISP is Verizon FiOS, I've checked the connection speed and have experienced no other internet access problems.  I have my firewall set to allow PE7 to access the internet without restriction, and have also tried uploading with the firewall disabled with the same result.  I contacted Adobe support and even agreed to the $30 charge, but they said this wasn't a Photoshop problem.  Kodak says if they don't receive the upload it isn't their problem.  I would really like to get this photo book printed (daughter's college graduation).

Thanks for the update, Bob.  While I appreciate your efforts to resolve the issue with Kodak, I still feel there is something on my end that is not right.  I just tried to order additional copies of a photobook we did a  couple of years ago (43 pages, 147mb).  The upload process took just 10  minutes but failed with the same error message.  This was a photobook we had successfully ordered from Kodak before, using PE6 running on an older computer with a slower internet connection.
You mentioned internet bandwidth as a determining factor, using a faster connection as a possible solution. I have a Verizon FIOS 20/5 connection, periodically test my download/upload speeds, and that's pretty much what I get.  I had reasoned that since PE7 takes like 20 minutes to upload a 300MB file there must be something else going on.  Btw, there was one particular upload speed test I just tried that failed,"probably due to a hardware or software firewall blocking the FTP protocol the test uses".  I was also not able to run this test successfully with the Norton firewall temporarily disabled.  Does the PE7 photobook upload utility use an FTP protocol?

  • I've created a Photo Book in iPhoto, it quits uploading halfway through.

I've spent many days creating a Photo Book using iPhoto and now I'm ready to order it! But twice now it quits halfway through the uploading process. How can I figure out what the problem is? I was really looking forward to see this project as a finished product.

Before ordering your book preview it using this method - http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1040 - and save the resulting PDF for reference - the delivered book will match it.
