I still acn't get my picture box to flicker between two grey levels WHILE the DAQ takes a measurement.

I received a suggestion that I contain the two parts (grey level ficker and signal capture) in seperate while loops and use a local variable to pass a control to the measurement part from the flicker, with the control triggering the true statement of a case structure inside of the measurement while loop. In each of the cases (both vi's are listed below) the picture box stops swithing between the two grey levels while the measurement is being taken by the DAQ. In my application, I have a photometer taking continuous measurements and sending a proportional voltage signal to the DAQ input. If the picture box (which is what the photometer is measuring the br
ightness of) does not switch back and forth between the grey levels while the DAQ is sampling the incoming signal from the photometer, then the photometer is putting out no signal. No grey level switching, no signal. So the DAQ ends up measuring a flat line. Does anyone have any ideas as to how I can fix this, please try nd run my vi's before you make suggestions, just to see what is happening. Also, if you have a solution, give it to me in remedial form, if you can. I am new to labview.
Thanks for all your help.

I apologize, one of the vi's that I sent was incorrect. I did, more or less, the same as the example you gave me. Like the example you gave me, it stops switching between grey levels momentarily while the DAQ captures the signal. Is it possible to have the two run simultaneously? I will attch the vi that I intended to send, and would appreciate any further ideas you may have on how to fix the problem.

  • When working in iPhoto I kept getting a dialog box that asked if I wanted to delete the photo.  I checked the little box that said do not show this again.  Well, I want to get this warning box back but I don't know where to find it.

Hi I was organizing pictures in iphoto.  I am new at this.  I was deleting a bunch of duplicate pictures and I kept getting a 'warning box" that kept asking "are you sure you want to delete?"  I knew I wanted to delete all these pics so I checked the box that said "check box if you dont want to see this warning."  So checked the box.  Now I want to get that warning box back.  Any ideas?  I can't find anything on the internet or manuals.  thanks

Try trash the com.apple.iPhoto.plist file from the HD/Users/ Your Name / library / preferences folder.
(On 10.7: Hold the option (or alt) key while clicking on the Go menu in Finder to access the User Library)
(Remember you'll need to reset your User options afterwards. These include minor settings like the window colour and so on. Note: If you've moved your library you'll need to point iPhoto at it again.)
    What's the plist file?
For new users: Every application on your Mac has an accompanying plist file. It records certain User choices. For instance, in your favourite Word Processor it remembers your choice of Default Font, on your Web Browser is remembers things like your choice of Home Page. It even recalls what windows you had open last if your app allows you to pick up from where you left off last. The iPhoto plist file remembers things like the location of the Library, your choice of background colour, whether you are running a Referenced or Managed Library, what preferences you have for autosplitting events and so on. Trashing the plist file forces the app to generate a new one on the next launch, and this restores things to the Factory Defaults. Hence, if you've changed any of these things you'll need to reset them. If you haven't, then no bother. Trashing the plist file is Mac troubleshooting 101.

  • When I try to add an RSS or Atom feed, I get a dialog box with Open or Save instead of adding the feed to NewsFox like it used to do.

With Firefox 4.x, when I added a feed, it would open NewsFox in a new tab, and bring up a dialog box with info about that feed. I would click on "test this feed" and it would put all available items into NewsFox. Now, I get this dialog box with Open or Save. If I click on Open (declaring Firefox as the preferred app), then it opens the feed itself, it doesn't add it to NewsFox. I've tried going into Options and about:config but don't see anything to change that would fix this problem. I tried Search in Firefox Help but no relevant threads came up.

Thanks Cor-El. I already have it set to "Use NewsFox." I'm stumped.

  • Even after doing the recovery of my iphone 4,  still i am getting a picture with itunes and usb port in phone.  showing only the emergency call

I did a recovery of my iphone4.   After extracting,  recovery and verifying  completing,  my iphone restarted.    But still i can only see the picture with iTunes and USB port in the iphone 4.   Only the emergency call is allowed.
After recovery and re-start of my iphone4  the itunes doesn't detect my phone.       What should i do now

DFU Mode and restore again, if it doesn't work, well then...I suggest you try using a custom firmware maker (sn0wbreeze), NOT for the jailbreak, just to try and fix your phone.

  • My hard drive died, how can I get my pictures back from iPad onto a new library on the hard drive?

    Hi there,
I have a Mac Book, and as it's a little older, and was getting full, I moved my iPhoto library onto an external hard drive. This external hard drive was always plugged in, and iPhoto used it as it's store so to speak.
However, the hard drive has died which means I now have no access to any of my photo's.
As I sync both my iPad and iPhone to iphoto in it entirity, at the minute I have ALL my photos on both my iPad and my iPhone.
How can I recover the photo's onto my mac or new hard drive from the ipad or iphone? I don't dare plug either in at the minute as I don't want the Sync to remove the photos.
    HELP! Please!

My ipod touch won't respond. Shortly after I downloaded IOS 8, it quite responding. All I get is the Apple sign.  I connected to my computer and tried updating and was able to download the USB connection for the device but received an error when it tried to update the ipod. Is there any way to retrieve my pictures from the device before I try to recover? At this point my pictures are more valuable to me than restoring the device.  How can I get my pictures recovered?
Now it looks like I have the Apple with an line under it on the screen, but still not responsive.

If you still see the error message when you update or restore, contact Apple support.
If still problem, make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.

  • I am still trying to get two funtions to run AT THE SAME TIME within my vi, but to no avail.

I am trying to capture a signal with a daq card (PCI-MIO-16E-4) WHILE I have a picture box switch back and forth between grey levels. It is absolutely necessary that they both happen simultaneously, but what is happening is that the picture box stops switching while the DAQ is capturing the signal. Can someone take a look at this and offer some suggestions, or just see if you can get this thing to work. The vi is simple and should be straight forward, right? I have had some suggestions on a previous fishing expedition, but none worked. If you try this vi, set the scan rate to 5000, and the # of scans to 15,000. P.S. I am running labview 6.1 if that makes any differenc

    Hi Planar,
    You have been trying hard!
I am not sure the following will help, but I would like you to try it out.
I have restructured your code to help reduce the work that is done while data is acquired.
    1) I "pre-compute" the pictures at app start-up. This way only the pictures need updated and the pictures are rendered repeatedly.
    2) I moved your config up front so it does not run while the flickering is going on.
    3) I add a check of the backlog from the DAQ that looks at the number of scans waiting in the buffer WITHOUT reading the data. Only when the requested # of scan are ready is the data read.
    4) While waiting for the buffer to fill, the daq loop will execute a wait, thereby freeing CPU for the flicker tasks.
    Your code, w

A jpg is included for non-LV-7.0 readers.
Yes, the code is sloppy! I am woring fast and for free!
No, I do not have DAQ hardware to test so it may NOT work right out of the box.
    I hope this helps,

Nikon say that you need 10.6.5+ for the latest firmware, although I don't see why.
Thanks for that! I was looking for that manual, but for some reason, couldn't find it.
I guess I'll have to contact Nikon and find out what the real story is. The camera was introduced in '08 or '09, so I'm wondering why you'd need software as recent as 10.6.5??
    Still very confusing.  :-?
Why does it state that the camera is compatible with "10.4.11, 10.5.8..."? Does that mean that anything between 4.11 and 5.8 is incompatible???
BTW, I tried downloading the 10.5.8 combo update recently and got an error message that the update was "corrupted" after it was all downloaded, so I was not able to install that.

  • IPhone 3 I cannot get my pictures to download from iPhoto.  I keep getting the error message required file cannot be found.

I cannot get my pictures to download from my iPhoto from an albumto the iPhone 3 (one of the kids phones). I was able to download an Event.  I have changed the name.  I have used my iPhone 4 and the pictures from the album downloaded just fine. I have looked at the message board and I have deleted the cache and done all the things that were suggested.  WHAT IS THE DEAL!! I have been working on my phone and the kids phones for about five hours now and super frustrated!!!

I used Terminal to change the permissions on the folder in question.  I followed the instructions in this article:
iTunes: Missing folder or incorrect permissions may prevent authorization
In my case, the folder was there, so I needed the command to change permissions on the folder, not to create one.   I was hesitant to use Terminal b/c I know that if I made an error I could wipe out my hard drive or render my computer unusable.  So to be SURE I didn't make an error, I carefully copied the command from that page and *pasted* it into Terminal.  Also, before I could do anything in Terminal, I had to go change my admin password (it had been a blank password before and that's not acceptable for making changes in Terminal).  I was just super careful when entering my password or doing anything else while Terminal was open (making sure I didn't accidently hit the spacebar or another key, etc.)  And it fixed the problem right away.
What was confusing for me was that the iTunes error message said to change permissions in the FINDER, which is what I was trying to do.  It didn't mention Terminal.  What would really be helpful is if Apple included a link to a page like this in their error message.
