I still can not burn my music ...Not Happy!

I have been there done that and I am getting NO WHERE?  I can not burn my music still I have been through several disks, and have tried all trouble shooting suggested by iTunes.  I have had my Dell Support tech team run all dianostics , update all my drivers, ect...  My other media software burns just fine.
This all started about 1 month ago while I was in the itunes store and received a prompt to upgrade my itunes, I did the upgrade and have not been able to burn "My Music" I bought from itunes.  This is a shame that the itune support team can not find a fix to their customers needs!  I have spent hours on this problem!!
Does anyone out there know of another Music site that I can join?  Make sure to send a support email to the itunes support team...  I am going to ask for my money back for my music and move on from this whole apple/itunes BS real soon!  There Customer Support  is good for nothing and does not seem to care,,,isn't it strange how apple phone support does not support itunes!  They are going to lose a lot of customers and money...I don't get it??
Does anyone get it??

Same here. I have a jailbroken iPhone 3G running on 4.0.1 and iTunes 9.2.1 - iTunes tells me the phone is syncing. The phone says "Sync in Progress" but after it is done, zilt! nothing! nada!
Has anyone with the same configs figured out a solution?
Thanks

Try HT203242: iTunes for Windows: Optical drive is no longer recognized, or "Disc burner or software not found" alert after install.

  • Downloaded 8.2 and still can't burn...

I burned a disc right after I downloaded the new version hoping that it finally take of the burn problem. It took forever but it finally spit out a disc. 8 tracks long and it played until track 7 then nothing. track 8 and 1-6 all play so I thought I would try another one. I made a play list and started the burn and it kicked out with a error code 4020 message. That's a new one but not surprising. What really bums me is that I spent a $50 gift card on new music after x-mas and still can't burn any of it.

Are you able to download apps?
If so, have you checked that the Apps tab is selected under preferences in iTunes?
You may need to peruse the iOS4 Users Guide found here:

  • I can't burn a music disk

iTunes will not burn a music disk. it starts to burn 1 or 2 tracks then stops and kicks the disk out.

    OK, some more questions:
What kind of Mac do you have?
Are you using the built in CD/DVD drive?
What Disk Format do you want to burn: "Audio CD", "MP3 CD" or "Data CD"?
Is the CD (after iTunes ejects the disk) readable or not?
In any case you could try reducing the "Preferred Speed" in the "Burn Settings" dialog box down to maybe "8x".

  • Downgraded to iTunes 4.9 and STILL can't burn! Hilfe!!!

Now there's a new twist. I downgraded to iTunes 4.9 as some have suggested and I still can't burn CDs. Now I get a error message telling me that the brand new disk I put in is full, and then a second error message comes up shortly thereafter telling me that my startup disk is almost full. But I know that there's nearly 692 megs of disk space available.
What is the story? I've never had this problem before!!!!

    Ray,
run Disk Utility and fix permissions - you also might use a tool like Cocktail and run a full system maintenance through "Pilot"

How can I burn a music DVD on my I-Mac to play in my auto DVD/CD player?

There is no way to do it in iTunes that I know of - you can only burn CDs there. You do need other software to burn to a music DVD.

  • ITunes 9 will not burn a music CD that can play on a CD player

Ever since I upgraded to Itunes 9 I cannot copy (burn) a music CD that can be played on any CD player device other than the MacBook. I tried changing the format preference from .aif to .mpg4a but it still only creates CD's that cannot play. I am not pirating anything. I copied my own bought retail music CD's onto the MacBook and gave away the CD's to eliminate clutter. In the past I have been able to copy them for my own use for the car or the bedroom where there is no computer available. This is so frustrating. Please help!

does the format of the original song make a difference? for instance, if the data is mp3 data, but you try to burn an audio cd, will that mess it up? I dunno. it didn't use to, I dont think. I have no idea about iTunes9
You could convert the songs to .aif in QuickTime before hand just to make sure iTunes9 isn't messing it up.

I've recently bought a new Macbook Pro and in my Itunes Library everything I have purchased from Itunes is in my new Itunes Library.
However I want to transfer all my music (not purchased from itunes) from my Ipad/Iphone to my new Itunes Library.... and I have absoutely no idea how to do this? Also I'm scared to press sync when my ipad is plugged into my Mac incase will loose all this music!

The iphone/ipad/ipod is not a backup/storage device.  The sync is one way - computer to iphone/ipad/ipod.
Copy everything from your old computer or your backup copy of your old computer.

  • Still can't burn a DVD

I followed the suggestions by many to upgrade my Pioneer DVR 104 to the latest DVR 111, since I haven't been able to burn a DVD using either Toast 7 or Discribe 5.3.1.8 for about 3 months now. I still get the same results. The DVD goes into the cache mode and the progress bar goes about a quarter of the way before an error message pops up. In Toast (both 6 and 7) the error is -36. "Could not complete the last command because there was an I/O error. In Discribe the error just says "A disc error has occured". BTW, the DVD plays fine, and I've tried many different ones that are also fine.
    My system is: G4 Dual 533 1.25gb ram 120gb HD 46gb free OS 10.4.7 Pioneer DVR-111D
    Any suggestions? TIA

Everyone - Thank You... I did figure this out finally as someone suggested to try the Verbatim DVD+R DL 2.4x, and this works perfect every time. Kind'a makes me angry that I'm now stuck with the Memorex DVD+R DL's as this was a big expense. OfficeMac has the Verbatim DVD+R DL on sale this week in a 10pack for 19.99, so I figure I'll start with a few. I still can't figure out why the Memorex will not work, and why they read under the Media type in Toast as Ritech or something like that... I'm going to write Memorex on this and see what they say, I should be able to get my money back when it is calearly the disk and not the recorder. BTW this work under Toast 7 and the Normal Apple Burner built in, so I'm sure it is really the Disk's. I wish these things would come down in price soon. Also, and this is weird - I use the Memorex DVD-R 4.7 and DVD+R 4.7 with NO Problems at all.

  • WHAT?!!  Can't burn ITunes Music Store Files?

Itunes tells me I can't burn a CD of songs that I paid for to a CD.
The support page says I can.
The songs are authorized, they play on my computer.
Anyone know the problem? Or have I made a mistake buying music off of Itunes?
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

    So what does one do?
    1) Select iTunes in the menubar.
    2) Select "Preferences".
    3) When dialog appears, click on "Advanced" at the top.
    4) Click on "Burning".
    5) Select "Disc Format: Audio CD".
    6) Burn a new disk.
That should give you an regular audio CD that you can listen to on your stereo. Also, make sure that you are burning a CD-R and not a CD-RW. Many stereos can't read CD-RW's.

  • STILL can't burn DVDs on Mac OS 10.6.5 after trying everything

    Hi there.
Ever since I've updated to 10.6.5, I can't burn DVDs, doesn't matter which brand or what software I use. however, I am able to burn CDs. I went to my local Apple Store and they booted OS 10.6.3 on my computer via firewire and what d'you know ? it burnt a dvd right away. this is clearly an issue with the latest update. I did as they said, reseted my PRAM and even re-installed the latest update (I downloaded the 10.6.5 combo version from Apple Support).
Is anyone experiencing the same ? I know a lot of people had the same issue couple of weeks ago. did anyone successfully overcome it ?
    cheers.

This is an older post from the Roxio Community (http://forums.support.roxio.com/topic/39824-toast-burns-cd-but-not-dvd-on-mac/); but seems like similar problem - maybe worth a try:
Either something is preventing the data from being sent to the drive's DVD-writing laser or the drive's laser is failing to start writing the disc. The only thing you can do with Toast is trash the plist and prefs files in the User>Library>Preferences folder and relaunch Toast. You might get a laser-cleaning disc for your drive. (A different laser is used to write CDs than is used to write DVDs). Also try choosing Save as Disc Image with Toast and burn the resulting disc image using the Image File setting in the Toast Copy window.
Note that the laser cleaning idea was also mentioned in the previous link provided. Have you tied that? - would be nice if a simple solution worked.

  • Can Burn Ripped Music, Can't Burn Purchased Music

    Help!!
Ever since installing 7.0.2 I can no longer burn purchased music to CD. Music I ripped from my own CDs burns just fine.
Data from desktop burns fine as well as music from other programs such as sonic and Windows Media Player. Actually iTunes worked fine until I upgraded to 7.0.2 from 6
I'm thinking ther must be some kind of problem with the protected MPEG4 that apple is using that is messing up CD burning
I have downloaded latest firmware, updated drivers, re installed IDE/ATA, Reinstalled iTunes, Re installed CD burner, tried every burn speed from fastest down to 1x, Turned off spam & spyware, turned off firewall, turned off virus prtection made, Made sure IMAP CD settings are set to automatic and started.
Nothing works. I'm at my wits end and getting very frustrated because I have hundreds of dollars of purchased music that is now stuck on my computer and won't burn.

I don't understand, we buy this music for a buck a piece, and then when you want to make an mp3 cd to play in your car, like i have( i can make one cd with 150 songs)or what ever , we can't even do that. I also have an ipod but i don't bring it into my car all the time. I thought that because we are buying the music and technically we own them, that we can use the music which ever way that you want. And now we have to buy a converter if we want to make mp3 cd's. I have resorted to spending my money on cd's to make cd's of my protected files, just to rip them back on my computer again as an mp3 song, remove the protected songs, and all this to do what i thought we could do with our purchases music because, oh i don't know, call me crazy, we were able to before!!! All i now see is that we have to spend money to get our music to spend money to change our music to use it the way we want to, to spend our money to make our own cd's. The operative words, spending our money. Does anyone find this absolutely rediculous? Anyone ever hear the phrase "Don't fix it if it ain't broke"? Anyone else frustrated?
