I still can't connect to wifi on my iMac 10.9.4!

I Honestly don't even know what to do know. I haven't been able to connect for a while. After I got the 10.9.4 update it would work for maybe a couple hours but know it just won't work and I don't know what else to do because I have tried everything that people say will "fix" this issues. I'm on an late 2011 iMac running Mavericks 10.9.4. Please someone give me an answer!

Please answer as many of the following questions as you can. You may already have answered some of them; in that case, there's no need to repeat the answers.
If possible, connect to the router with an Ethernet cable and turn off Wi-Fi. Any difference?
Are any other devices on the network, and if so, are they the same?
If you can connect to more than one network, are they all the same?
Are all network applications affected, or only some? If only some, which ones?
Disconnect all other devices from the network. Any change?
Start up in safe mode and test. Any difference?
Start up in Recovery mode. From the OS X Utilities screen, select Get Help Online. A clean copy of Safari will launch. No plugins, such as Flash, will be available. Any difference?
If possible, turn off Bluetooth and disconnect any USB 3 devices. Any difference?

Still can't connect to WiFi since yesterday's iO6 upgrade on my iPhone 4s. Plus battery life is horrible!!

If you are having the issue where it takes you to a login page, goto Settings > WiFi and tap on the blue button to the right of your network name. There'll probably be an option to auto-join and you'll want to toggle that. If it's off, turn it on then back off. If it's on, toggle it off. If prompted to login again, just hit Cancel in the upper-right. Now goto Safari app and you should be prompted to connect to your network at which time it should work. It did for me at least and a friend of mine.

Still can't connect to WiFi on iOS 6 iPhone 4S?

I have read all the workarounds for convincing iPhone 4S updated to iOS 6 to connect to my wireless network and it still will not connect. I've used it in other places with no issues (networks with no security) but I can't connect to my home wireless network (Airport Extreme). My other devices connect fine and there were no issues before upgrading but I have tried restarting the Airport anyway and changing the security settings and still nothing. Half the time when I go into WiFi settings on the phone, the network doesn't even show up in the list. Whenever it does, I try to connect and either get "Cannot connect to network," or I am asked for the password and I enter it and I get the same error message. I've tried resetting my network settings and doing a soft reset of the phone but nothing seems to help. I also tried removing security on the wireless network completely and it still can't find the network or connect to it.
Has anyone found a workaround for this short of reseting/restoring the phone or a problem with the Airport Extreme that might be causing the issue?

Update: I tried restoring the Airport Extreme to factory settings and used a new network name. It connects at first, but then loses the connection after a minute or two and the network disappears from the list...infuriating.

STILL can't connect to wifi

My Itouch still won't connect to my network. My Xbox live and Macbook are running just fine off of the router (Yes, I turned it off and on), and obviously know my password. The Itouch recognizes my network, but says it's unable to join. I've restored my settings, and not sure what else to do. I'm going crazy not being able to download any apps or use this thing. Try restoring your phone usng DFU mode. Here are steps to get DFU Mode: Open iTunes on computer. Connect iPhone to computer. (some turn off iPhone here, I do not) Hold both home and power buttons for exactly 10 seconds, release power button, keep holding home button until iPhone recognizes iPhone in Recovery Mode. Usually takes 10-20 seconds of holding the home button. If the iPhone screen is black (blank) the iPhone is in DFU Mode.

Can't connect to wifi hotspots

After I updated my OX I can no longer connect to wifi hot spots.
I contacted apple support and they told me to put "com.apple.airport.preferences.plist" and "preferences.plist" from the library folder to my desktop and restart my computer.
I did nothing. I still can't connect to wifi. When I click net network preferences, under wifi,there is a yellow circle, not green.
Can someone tell me what the problem is? I can't work in libraries and cafes anymore!

When you say it "can not scan any wifi network" do you mean it is not detecting Wi-Fi networks?
Is Wi-Fi turned on in Settings > General > Wi-Fi?
Have you tried Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings?
Is it just the home network that the device will not connect to? or any network?

Some things to try first:
1. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord for 30 seconds or longer) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
2. Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.
3. Change the channel on your wireless router (Auto or Channel 6 is best). Instructions at http://macintoshhowto.com/advanced/how-to-get-a-good-range-on-your-wireless-netw ork.html
4. Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.
5. Renew IP Address: (especially if you are droping internet connection)
    •    Launch Settings app
    •    Tap on Wi-Fi
    •    Tap on the blue arrow of the Wi-Fi network that you connect to from the list
    •    In the window that opens, tap on the Renew Lease button

Note - When troubleshooting wifi connection problems, don't hold your iPad by hand. There have been a few reports that holding the iPad by hand, seems to attenuate the wifi signal.

First, you don't have a 5+ year old 3GS. The 3GS has only been around for under 4 years. In fact, 5 years ago there were NO iPhones; the original iPhone (2 generations before the 3GS) came out on June 29, 2007 - not quite 5 years ago. The 3GS was released June 19, 2009.
That aside, you can sync multiple phones to one computer - see http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1495. boogeyman is wrong. Ipad2 suddenly can't connect to wifi - password help ?

We've had an ipad2 for about 2 months. We got it connected to WiFi fine by putting in the security key from the Livebox modem and everything was hunkydory. Then we went on holiday for a fortnight and when we got back, there was no way of connecting it to WiFi. It asks for the Livebox password, a maximum of 21 characters. The security key is 26 characters long so it isn't that. I've entered every password we own (from the original ISP/Livebox signup letter) and none of them work. I read in a few places online about changing the security option from WPA to WEP, I did all three options but nothing changed. I also rebooted the modem - no change.
I phoned Orange (our internet provider) to ask for help and they said that the password is always the security key. When I said that that was too long, they said that there is no such thing as a Livebox password so they couldn't help me.
There are lots of people asking the same question on the Orange forum (I'm in France) but no solution. Some people said that it comes back all by itself after a few days but it's been 10 days and we still can't connect.

Does the Router have a common default SSID like "linksys" or such?
Go to System Preferences
Click Network
Highlight AirPort and click Configure...
Choose “By default, join: Preferred networks”
Select your access point and Remove your access point with the minus button.
Launch your keychain access in Utilities and delete your access point keychain entry.
Reboot
Go back to the “By default, join:” page and click the plus this time to add your access point. Enter the correct password, save, reboot.

I can't connect to wifi at home on business hub ? So cannot update my iPhone 5 Help!

wifi is wifi, and business hub means very little.. this is area for time capsule discussion.. but the standard measures apply.
1. Set wireless name (SSID) to a name that is short, no spaces and pure alphanumeric. Eg your Business Hub call wireless BH. There is no need for names longer than that.
2. Set wireless channel for 2.4ghz to 11 or 6 or 1. Please test in that order. In Eurozone you can add 13 or use it instead of 11. They are the only 3 non-overlapping channels.
3. Use no security to test.. of course this is unsafe long term.. so this is to test for a few minutes only.
The only security that should be used with N wireless is WPA2 TKIP-AES .. it can be named several different things ie in Apple routers it is WPA2 personal. Use a passkey of 10-20 characters.. more if you are paranoid, mix of upper and lower case + numerics.. so pure alphanumeric.
4. If it fails set the mode to G wireless. It is more consistent standard.
If it still fails buy an Apple router and use that as WAP.
