I stopped getting emails on my  iPhone 5s

I upgraded to an iphone 5s and had been getting emails as always, until 2 days ago.  Why did I stop getting my emails and how do I get them back?

Well there is your answer, messages in trash are not in the inbox for the pop account to download.
Why your iPhone is putting messages in the trash is beyond me. In thunderbird that usually means Norton or Trend are dumping all messages that are not in the address book, but iPhone has no anti virus Anti spam junk
Is there an option on your providers webmail to junk all mail not in your address book perhaps?

  • IPhone stops getting email randomly, won't update???

My iPhone 4 sometimes stops getting email, pushed or fetched.  This happens for all email accounts, 2 gmail and 1 mobileme/mac account.  I'll suddenly realize that I haven't gotten an email for a long while, and when I check the phone it won't be able to connect to the server, and will eventually say the last update was at X time which was hours and hours ago.  If I ask it to check for mail it then says it can't connect to the server and I should check my settings.  I haven't touched my settings!  Generally if I turn my phone off and then on again the messages will appear.  Anyone have the same problem?  My wifi and signal strength are working just fine when this happens.  I'm using version 5.1.1.  Thanks!

Sounds extreme, and I'm worried about the effect on many other iCloud apps. This seems to be a notorious problem. Take a peak at this thread:

  • Shared Reminders: How do I stop getting emails when changes are made?

My wife and I both have iPhone 5's that we bought 2 weeks ago. We are sharing a calendar and a "Grocery" list in reminders. I have everything set up where it is working properly but I keep getting emails when a change is made to the grocery list. I don't get emails when there are changes to the calendar.
I want to stop getting emails when there are changes made to our grocery list but I am not sure how to do it. We both have icloud accounts and we both have checked the box under preferences in my calendar for "in app notifications" for icloud invitations. When I open Reminders in icloud I don't see a preferences for reminders.
If it helps , or makes any difference, my wife has a yahoo mail account and I have a hotmail account. She does not get emails about changes being made.
    thanks

Did you try to switch Push "off" and fetch to "manually"? This way no mail is delivered until you choose to open the mail app. The moment you open Mail on your device, your mail account will be checked and if any, mail will be delivered.
    Fetch New Data
This setting lets you turn Push on or off for MobileMe, Microsoft Exchange, Yahoo!, and any other push accounts on iPhone. Push accounts deliver new information to iPhone whenever new information appears on the server (some delays may occur). You might want to turn Push off to suspend delivery of email and other information, or to conserve battery life.
When Push is off, and with accounts that don’t support push, data can still be fetched—that is, iPhone can check with the server and see if new information is available. Use the Fetch New Data setting to determine how often data is requested. For optimal battery life, don’t fetch too often.
Turn Push on: Choose “Mail, Contacts, Calendars” > Fetch New Data, then tap to turn Push on.
Set the interval to fetch data: Choose “Mail, Contacts, Calendars” > Fetch New Data, then choose how often you want to fetch data for all accounts.
To conserve battery life, fetch less frequently.
Setting Push to OFF (or setting Fetch to Manually on the Fetch New Data screen) overrides individual account settings.

  • Why have I stopped receiving email on my iPhone 5s

Why have I stopped recieving email on my iPhone 5s?

    Hi Byrd2570,
Welcome to the Support Communities!  Try these initial troubleshooting steps for the issue you are having with email on your iPhone 5s.  What type of email account is it?  Are you able to access your incoming messages directly from the email provider's website?  Is the email account working on your computer?
Get help with Mail on iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch - Apple Support
    http://support.apple.com/en-us/ts3899
First, try these basic troubleshooting steps:
To make sure that you're connected to the Internet, open Safari and go to www.apple.com.
Log in to your email provider's website to make sure that the account is active and the password is correct.
Make sure your settings are correct using Mail Settings Lookup.
    Restart your iOS device.
Delete the affected email account from your device.
Tap Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars.
    Tap the affected email account.
    Tap Delete Account.
    Add your account again.
I hope this information helps ....

Notifications ...  how do I stop getting email notifications?  I like this site but now I get 20-50 or more notifications a day in my email.  I would rather shut that off and check back on my own now....

Once you've turned off notifications, you won't get new ones. But you still have to cancel the notifications you've been receiving. This thread explains how at the top: https://discussions.apple.com/static/apple/tutorial/email.html

To stop all email notifications or to select those you want to have go to Your Stuff in the top right of this window. Then select Your Preferences. When that page loads you will see a tab for Email Notifications. Select that and go through the choice for how or when you want to be notified by email, or not.

If you are getting them from a forum as a whole (as opposed to just individual threads), then towards the top right of that forum page make sure that it says 'receive email notifications' in the Actions box :
If it says 'stop email notifications' then click on it so as to stop them

I am using @me.com, and have stopped receiving emails to my macbook pro, still receiving them on my iPhone and iPad through icloud any help??

    Two things:
1st: In System Preferences, click on iCloud, uncheck Mail, if it's checked, wait about 30 seconds, and then re-checkit. That will redo your iCloud mail setting.
2nd: Look at your account setting in Mail's preferences, it should look like:

  • How can I stop getting emails every time I sign in with my ID?

I'm getting an email every time I sign in or out of my apple ID. I do not like extra emails in my inbox. Where is the button to stop the emails?

It is a new security feature after the iCloud was compromised for some people. If you are getting this when logging into the Find My iPhone app on the phone, then if you do not log out and set a passcode on the phone, you should not receive this again. As far as I know, and I've not tested this because I do not receive the emails is when you log in on the computer, most people report that if you log in on the same computer again, it will not generate an email. Seems like it might put a cookie on the computer to recognize that you have logged in with that computer before.

  • How can I stop getting emails when adding events to iCal (Mac) or Calendar (iOS)?

This question could just as well go to the iCloud on my Mac community...
I put 'I' in the topic for brevity but it's actually my wife who gets emails every time either of us adds or edits events, whether we do it in iCal on either of our Macs or in Calendar on our iOS devices. Presumably this is to do with a setting in iCloud somewhere, but I've searched high and low and can’t find it. I've also compared settings on our Macs and phones and can't find anything that could be the culprit. It's driving her nuts!
For more information, we share all our calendars so that either of us read and write any of them, and we're both on iOS 5.1 on our iPhones (hers is a 3GS, mine's a 4), and we're both on Mac OS X 10.7.3 Lion (2010 27" iMac and 2011 MacBook Pro respectively).

this seems to be a new "bug" on iCloud.  It's happened to many users (judging by the posts here).  My wife and I have one shared calendar and we've been happily using it without the email problems (because I had set iCloud NOT to email us whenever an event changed - this was done at icloud.com, a setting there).  Recently we began getting emails.  I suspect a change in iCloud that was in error, because I just checked my setting and the option to have an email sent when an event changes is not checked.

  • How do i stop getting emails sent from apple community, any help please

    Hi,
how do i stop the emails from Apple support community
    any help please!!!

AAAARGGHH - I posted to grumble about the "new" iTunes, [which is still a load of garbage], but cos 100s of people feel the same too, my mailbox is FULL of threads to the post.
I have reset my e-mail preferences to NO for ALL notifications, with a conspicuos lack of success. So i use a junk filter to stop them, but I ain't pleased. Can anyone explain how I can get the system to work right [I know, I can guess what you are thinking, expaecting anything from Apple to be user friendly is a long shot.... but at least on can try!]
    Thanks very much!

  • Stop getting emails

I posted in this forum last night regarding a question I had about my ipod.  However, I have been getting emails any time someone posts in the forum, how do I stop this?  I have tried to go to my preference and turn everything to NO regarding notifications.
    Thanks

Click on your name to get to your profile. Then click on the Manage email Notifications from the menu to the right. You can then select which ones you want to remove.
Additionally, you will want to go to the Edit preferences and select which notifications you want to receive automatically. Typically you will want notifications on threads that you post in.
But as you have found out, subscribing to whole forums will get you tons of emails.
