I subscribe to the Scotsman newspaper through itunes. The Paper is accessed through Newsstand. According to their support I should be able to access the paper on up to five devices, but I can't open it on our mini ipad. Support at the paper can't help. It does work on our other ipad.

I click on Newsstand, then search for The Scotsman. When I click on The Scotsman App there is no option to Download, only the OPEN box. When I click on OPEN nothing happens. It seems to know I'm already subscribed - it shows the subscription under In-App purchases but it doesn't open. I've also tried getting in using Featured and Purchased at the bottom of the screen, but nothing works. Thanks for trying to help.

I'm not sure that it matters whether it's the same device that you purchased it, it might be that you are only allowed to download it from your 'account' once - which may be onto a different device to the one that you purchased the subscription/issue from.
Some magazines/newspapers allow you to download on multiple devices and some don't - so I'd check before you download the first copy, either via their support/help page (which you could do before purchasing), or if you can't find any info about it download it onto the device where you are most likely to read it and then see if you can also download the same issue on your other devices.

A much simpler solution would be to go into Settings > Store and turn off Automatic Downloads

Then there's nothing you can do. Only the previous owner can help you. They must either provide the ID and password, or erase the phone and remove it from their account as explained in the article you were reading. There's no way around this.

Can't open quicktime movie that I exported from Motion 5 and can't import to FCP 7.
I exported (with current settings) from Motion 5 now i can't view my movie with QT Player an FCP
won't recognize it.
That's the message I get ?
I'm running Mac OSX but still on FCP 7 (upgrading to FCP X is NOT an option)

Depending on what type of CD/DVD you intend to burn, you may not need any 3rd party applications:
- To burn data CDs or DVDs simply insert a blank disc, drag files to the empty FInder window that represents the disc, then click the burn button (I think t appears near the top of the finder window).
- To burn music CDs just use iTunes
- To create disk images from a CD or DVD use Disk Utility. To burn .iso or .cdr images to disc use Disk Utility.
About the only type of disc burning that you may need a 3rd party application for is to create a DVD movie (iDVD used to do this but no longer a supported app). I haven't ever needed anything outside of the built-in capabilities of OS X when it comes to burnig CD or DVD media. One suggestion is to make sure to remove all of the Roxio software so that it doesn't interfere with the built-in OS X capabilities.

You do NOT need to restore your iPad.
I believe that the problem is that there is a disconnect with your iTunes account and your iPad. What you are experiencing is a somewhat common issue after you sync your iPad, update your device - it could be a number of reasons that are causing it. the recommended fix is to download another app in order to "reconnect" your ID and iTunes account to the iPad.
You can read more about it here. You will need a WiFi internet connection in order to fix it - or you have to be able to sync with your own iTunes library.

3. Install another app from the App Store
If none of your user-installed apps will launch, there could be an issue with Apple ID authorization. Download and install a free (or paid) app that isn't already installed on your device to reset this information. Note: If you have installed apps using multiple Apple ID accounts, you may need to perform this step for each account.

I can't open up podcast on my iPad and I was listening it them the other day.

Quit the music app and restart. Then try again.
Go to the home screen first by tapping the home button. Quit/close open apps by double tapping the home button and the task bar will appear with all of you recent/open apps displayed at the bottom. Tap and hold down on any app icon until it begins to wiggle. Tap the minus sign in the upper left corner to close the apps. Restart the iPad. Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
Or - reset the iPad and see if that helps.
