I suddenly cannot receive or send emails - help?

I had this problem. I checked all settings and they were correct. Purely by chance I changed the setting to recieve emails from manually to every fifteen minutes. This generated a request for my apple ID and I began to receive my emails again. Hope this helps.

Or this - Delete the account in Mail and then set it up again. Settings->Mail, Contacts, Calendars -> Accounts Tap on the Account, then on the red button that says Remove Account.

interesting that my gmail account does work perfectly.

this may or may not help - but give it a try. On a forum some were reporting that talk21 is now under the yahoo umbrella. below are the steps this use listed. (This was an android forum, but the email settings should be the same. In short it looks like their server names have changed. An existing account may have simply been forwarded - but if you are reinstalling, it may want a clean install to the right servers.) Pay particular attention to the server names and port settings. (this thread was started based on a discussion of Imap vs pop - you are already an Imap person - so ignore that part)

why settle for pop3, when IMAP works with talk21 and not only does mail get pushed out faster with IMAP, but when you click refresh it will be received faster than pop3. The other advantage is subfolders are also supported with IMAP but cant be seen with POP3. This mail feature works with my android eclair & hero phone and the settings are exactly the same for win mobiles also (not tested). The mail setting up roadmap is the same from what i can remember once in the mail feature for win mobi.
This is what you need to do to setup Talk21 email with IMAP.
Incoming server settings
IMAP server - imap.mail.yahoo.com
Port - 143
Security type - none
Outgoing Server settings
SMTP server - smtp.mail.yahoo.com
Port - 25
Security type - none Also important note - Enable 'require sign-in'
and enter your talk21 username and password The End...works a treat for me p.s. Its only taken me 3 years to work it out with win mobile and recently with android. Finally got it to work...hope this helps all the talk21 users out there. if there are any other similar posts out there with no answer...dont forget to mention my name when passing this post around.

After I update my Iphone to 1.0.2, I cannot receive nor send email with all accounts (yahoo, gmail). I dont know why? I have read some topics here about sending email but nothing for receiving email. Do I have to change any setting? Please help. Thank you.

Try deleting the accounts and setting them back up again on the iphone.

E-mail can send only , cannot receive will not accept password. Help

I have the same problem which started two days ago. Still get emails on my phone and ipad but not on my mac.
Talktalk, which I use for incoming mail, does not recognise Apple computors so I send using Google.
This has always been perfect and worked fine untill this last weekend.
When I check Accounts and select Talktalk I get a message that the password cannot be sent securely.
Also I notice that the SSL is marked OFF
Wi Fi connection is good.
May have to resort to a trip to the Genius Bar at my local Apple store.

TB suddenly stopped receiving or sending emails after a Windows 7 update.

In late March 2015, after a critical Windows 7 update (or so it seemed), I suddenly could no longer send or receive emails using Thunderbird. After much research, checking settings, restarting in safe mode etc, I was forced to give up and simply use my ISP's webmail service. Yesterday (22nd April), I had a need to find an earlier email so I started TB for the 1st time in weeks. It loaded fine and downloaded all of the emails from the last month. I managed to send an email, too. Around 12 hours later - with no change to my system that I was aware of - it suddenly stopped again.
What on earth is going on?.

I would guess you're anti virus. But it is truly a guess.
Perhaps there is a third party at work here. Did you have your phone or tablet turned off for that 12 hour period? or the part where Thunderbird got mail?

BB Bold 9900 cannot receive or send email after 6 months why?

I cannot send or receive emails on my BB 9900 in Saudi subscribed to STC.
I was using this facility for over 6 months and this changed since last month. First it was messages not going out and now I cannot even sent any messages after I try to fix my problem.

Hello - today I cannot send or receive emails from my iphone 4s and when I try to access icloud a message appears "verification failed" " The certificate for this server is invalid You might be connecting to a server that is pretending to "setup.cloud.com. which could putbyourbconfidential information at risk"

ICloud Storage is full, cannot receive or send emails

Prior to 10/01/13, I received daily emails from Apple informing me to reduce my iCloud storage as the "complimentary" 20 GB storage initially offered is ending and come 10/01/13 be reduced to 5 GB. I already previously purchased additional iCloud storage and even after the reduction of the 20 GB, my current capacity is 15 GB with current available storage of 5.5 GB.
So come 10/01/13... I cannot send or receive emails to my mac address. Has anyone else encountered this and if so, know how to "fix" this?

My mail account is set up correctly but will not receive or send email?

My outlook email account works fine and it has automatically synchronised the set up / account information to my iphone 4s via itunes when syncing. However I cannot receive or send emails! Anyone know of the reason for this?

Do not attempt to sync email accounts. Security features hardly ever allow this to work without any edditing. Contact your email provider to find out the settings and servers they are using for mobile devices and then remove the existing account from settings, mail contacts calendars and create a new acccount there. After the setup is finished check all the settings of the crated acccount to ensure all sections are populated with information. Especialöly it might be neccessary to fill some fields in the smtp primary ßerver settings that are rated as optional.
