I suspect drivers are the culprit

HP Envy laptop 
When using hdmi and connecting to my tv, the audio stutters often, especially while watching videos.
My other issue is my when I'm connected to my wifi, it randomly stops working, I have to disconnect and reconnect, sometimes every 20 seconds.
I've tried doig both of these tings with my other divices, and i have no problems. From what my resaerch tells me its probably drivers, however I'm having some difficulty updating them as they are 3rd parties. 
i would appreciate some assistance

I grasp that you are having an issue with the audio stuttering when using HDMI and connecting to your TV. 
You are also having an issue with your wireless dropping.
When posting it is very helpful if you include your exact model of HP notebook and your Operating System.
Have you ran The HP Support Assistant to help with HP updates and resolving issues.
Have you tried using the Windows troubleshooter?

For the wireless.
Would you open Device Manager
Click on your network adapter to expand
Right click on the wireless and choose properties
Click on power management
Please make sure that "allow this computer to turn off this device to save power is not checked.
If you see a family controller, repeat that process for it also.
If you would like further assistance, please provide your model of notebook and your Operating System. Would you also provide the details from your troubleshooting efforts.

  • [SOLVED] System hangs at random, suspect X is the culprit

    For a bit over a week now, my system has been hanging seemingly at random. When watching youtube videos, when web browsing, when watching stuff in mplayer, probably more times too. The only way to get back to normal is hitting the physical reset button.
    Using KDE (normal, not mod) on Arch 64. nVidia GeForce 210 graphics card, have had hangs with both the nvidia and nouveau drivers. I spent a couple days with the nv driver and no hang, but that driver lacks features I need (specifically, tvtime won't work, and I need that for my tv card). (And anyway, it's not certain the lack of hanging wasn't just luck).
    Behaviour is as follows:
    NumLock responds.
    Mouse pointer moves normally.
    If Amarok is playing music, the playing song continues but the next one does not start.
    No GUI elements respond.
    CapsLock does not work.
    Ctrl+Alt+F1 does not work.
    Alt+SysRq+REISUB does not work.
    Have not tested pinging or sshing into the hung system.
    Have not yet tried using my motherboard's onboard ATI graphics instead of the nVidia card.
    Have not yet tried a different desktop environment.
    Probably ruled out as causes:
    Cooling issues. I took the case cover off and added a second fan, temps were notably lower than usual, but still got a hang.
    Being hacked. chkrootkit run from a livecd showed up nothing at least.
    Memory issues. memtest86+ passed twice in a row.
    Xinerama, I explicitly disabled it in xorg.conf
    I get the following in my Xorg.0.log after it hangs

    The problem with diagnosing it is that the "EQ Overflowing" bit is completely ambiguous.  It seems to affect both Intel and Nvidia users so it's possible that the bug is actually not in the driver code.  Sorry I can't really be of any substantial help.

  • I have just installed Creative Suite CC free trial. When opening Photoshop I get an error. "Adobe Photoshop CC 2014 has stopped working". My graphics drivers are the latest so that's not the problem. Please can someone help?

  • 3600N no longer prints color, only grayscale ... Vista SP2 download the culprit?

    I have the 3600N connected to my home net via its USB port thru a D-Link DP-300U print server. It has been working fine since I first installed it last Fall. I use it very little, having printed less than pages.
    I started it today for the first time in over a month and found that color printjobs sent from my primary (Vista Ultimate) system only print in grayscale. A check of 2 other systems on the net (both XP Pro) determined that the problem was Vista-system-specific.
    Last week I downloaded the Vista SP2 offering so I now suspect that as the culprit.
    Later tonight, when I can find the time, I intend to nuke the current installation on my Vista system and do a fresh re-install.
    Hopefully, that will solve the issue.
    Has anyone else heard of Vista SP2 turning other color printers into monchromes?

    One thing that I forgot to mention ... in Properties on the Advanced page, Image Color Management is set to Disabled and grayed-out so that the setting cannot be changed.
    And , nope, haven't had time to Nuke & ReInstall yet ... hopefully, later today.

  • Crystal Server 2011 "Failed to open the connection" with 32 & 64 bit drivers are loaded

    Brand new installation of Crystal Reports Server 2011 with CR Developer 2011 as well.  Downloaded new Postgres and MySQL drivers for both the 32 and 64 bit ODBC definitions.  Created a new report on the server to eliminate any migration driver incompatibility issues.  Reports run fine in Developer but give the same "Failed to open the connection." 
    and still problems running the reports  If I Save Data with the reports, I can click View to see the data, but they will not refresh.
    All the articles I'm finding online seem to point to the issue with needing 32 & 64 bit drivers, but I've loaded both and built my ODBC connections with the 32 drivers in the SysWOW64 folder.
    Logged in as Administrator.  Any thoughts out there?  Are there some new security measures?

    Yes, Designer and CRS are on the same machine.
    Good catch with the 5.1 driver.  I loaded up the mysql-connector-odbc-5.1.13-win32 driver and used that.  It alone failed when I made the ODBC connection with it.  I see on the CRS 2011 Feature Pack 3 .pdf file that it says "Only 64-bit database connector middleware is supported" ... I downloaded the other mysql-connector-odbc-5.1.13-winx64 64bit file, but teh .msi and .zip versions failed on the load.  Do I need that if it says that or should the first one be enough?
    I've been trying to use a normal User DSN, no?  Apparently I don't have access as a machine Administrator to do it as I get "You are logged on with non-Administrative privileges.  System DSNs could not be created or modified."  Having our server guys get that straightened out and we'll see.  Had not heard of that actually but will give it a go.
    You say I should create the DSN entries in the 64 bit version of the ODBC Data Source Administrator ... located in the system32 folder, not the SysWOW64 folder, where the 32 bit drivers are found, yes?  Isn't that the "wrong" location to use I've been reading?  Or are System DSNs different from a User DSN?

    Had been using HP LaserJet 5p printer with HP LaserJet 5p printer driver, but had printer disconnect for a few months due to not have black toner.  Now I want to use the printer and my control panel does not show HP Laser 5p printer for my tablet but shows it for my laptop.   I can not find the driver on the HP support list and the support list does not recognize  HP LaserJet 5p.

  • I use XP. When I open Itunes a mewssage comes up saying, Itune drivers are missing ,please reinstall. I reinstall and I get the same message. I use to be able to use Itunes for copying ,etc. but now I can't.

    I have Itunes on my PC. I used it to burn and copy music which I had on Itunes.  I had some work done on my PC. Now when I open it a message comes up saying, that Itune drivers are missing,
    reinstall Itunes.
    I did that and I still get the same message. What am I doing wrong

    I'd start with the following document, with one modification. At step 12 after typing GEARAspiWDM press the Enter/Return key once prior to clicking OK. (Pressing Return adds a carriage return in the field and is important.)

  • I recently updated to the latest version of iTunes and now get a message saying 'Registry settings for iTune drivers are misng for Cd burning' I have uninstallled and reinstalled iTunes and tried everything to repair the problem but still have no optical

    I am using OS  64 bit Windows Vista Home Premium and recently updated the latest version of iTunes. (I only have this CD burning software on my Laptop). Ever since updating, I  received the message 'Registry settings for the iTune drivers are missing for CD burning'. The drivers for Lower and uppper filters in the registry are missingand I now have no optical drive.  I have unistalled and  reinstalled Itunes and manually entered the filters. Have tried everything including something called GEAR driver installer which was suggested on several technical sites. Everything  was working fine in iTunes until I updated it.. It's strange I can still import music but not burn?? Friend s have told me they have ha dthe same problem when updating iTunes but resolved the problem by uninstalling/reinstalling or altering registry keys.
    Today I went to use my Epson Printer and now have problems with it not working. I decided to uninstall/ install printer software and  still can't get it to work either. I may be wrong but his all seems connected to me?
    I have been trying for days to get  telephone support and  been told today you have to pay
    Please can someone help me before I throw the lot out the window!!!!

    This is a copy of ONEof the keys  in the registry I changed  as told by Apple support today. I also have changed others as instructed by GEAR  software support to manually delete GEAR drivers (that I had installed but couldn't delete some of the others  they mentioned from Windows system 32. Then some bright spark at work told me I need the Gear drivers so  I downloaded the software and installed again.
    Sorry, just this minute went to insert image  and it is giving me a message saying this sort of content  is not allowed?.
    The most recent key I altered is in: HKey _local _machine. System\class - 4D36E965-E325-11CEBFC1-08002BE10318. Upper Filter data: Upper filter NTIDrvr  SiRem GEARAspiWDN.
    The GEARsoftware info about manually deleting  GEAR drive is from:

    Alright it's probably a stupid question but I just bought a new mac that came with leopard.I used boot camp to partition and install windows vista on my new mac. Everything worked fine until I had to install the drivers.I don't know where the drivers are. They supposed to be in the leopard dvd that i don't have. Where are the drivers?

    the Mac OSX install disc that you used to install Leopard on your Mac is a 'hybrid'-disc, which contains an OSX part (only visible while in OSX) and a Windows part (only visible while in Windows).
    The BootCamp 2.0 drivers are on the Windows part of that disc.
    While in Windows insert that disc and usually the driver installation starts automatically.
    If not, use the Windows Explorer to navigate to the disc and start the 'setup.exe' file manually.

    It appears that HP have pulled the drivers for the HP Stream 7 Tablet - 5701na.... I downloaded the wireless and BIOS a couple of days ago and stupidly didnt have them locally, now a couple of days later I return to the site and no drivers are listed for this model! Anyone know where I can get these drivers???  

    Hi: Unfortunately, the support pages are not working for most of the newer HP PC's. It has been that way for about a day now. Since I am not employed by nor do I represent HP, I am not sure when they will have the pages working again. Check back again some other time. With the Independence Day holiday weekend in the USA, I would not expect this to be taken care of immediately.

    Running Boot Camp 3.0.4 and it gets to the part about drivers. Download drivers doesn't work and the drivers don't seem to be anywhere on my original Snow Leopard install discs. Anybody have a clue how to proceed from here?

    The drivers are on the original disc, not the download.
    Boot Windows, insert the disc and run Seup.exe (if it does not Autostart)

    Apple itself mentiones HP drivers for e.g. the HP DeskJet 6127, they say Version 3.3.1, besides the Gutenprint 5.1.3 drivers. (http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=306684)
    Where are these HP drivers? I cannot find them, even after installation of all drivers from the Leopard DVD.

    Thanks for your reply but if I try to install my printer (you guessed: a HP DeskJet 6127 , only the Gutenprint drivers are offered. And even if I select one of the *.plugins or *.drivers, nothing happens...
    Ugly graphics and no duplex printing - far behind the printing capabilities I had under Tiger...
    Where is the improvement?

  • Where are the Audigy 2 ZS Linux Drivers?????????????????????????????????????????

    I Just recently installed Fedora core 4 on a partition on one of the Raids and discovered I cannot find a creative Audigy2 zs linux driver anywhere? I have found a all in one alsa driver set but so far no success, and i'd prefer not to use non certified drivers on the audigy2 due to hardware failing on me in the past because of bad drivers. Why is there a Linux section in the drivers area and no linux drivers? eh common if you haven't coded linux drivers after the ammount of time the audigy2 zs has been released for ... then why you guys are going to have to have the proverbial finger removed from the preverbial arse and support your customers ... I've seen 00's of questions in forums about creative drivers for linux ... if you guys are going to be racists and only code microsloth / bloatware then I think i'll be more than happy to chuck the audigy2 on the junk pile and use the evil on board ac '97 which HAS Linux drivers....
