From what I understand Imesh is P2P software used to download various things. (Like Limewire.) I would just uninstall Imesh. My favorite utility to uninstall stuff is ccleaner, it makes uninstalls quick and painless. You can download it at http://www.piriform.com/ they make great free ware.
Now that the Imesh is removed do you have Firefox installed? When you install Firefox it will ask you if you want to use it as the default browser.

I would strongly advise you not to let it sit in the Inbox.
When you see this happening, try right-click on the affected folder, select '''Properties''' then '''Repair Folder'''.
Large folders (actually, a folder in Thunderbird is stored as a file, so it is sensitive to file size limits set by the underlying file system) can be problematic. This is one reason not to let messages collect in one folder. I did read what you posted, and will point out once more - the organised bookmarks were kept, the unsorted - the majority - were lost. I tried accessing them THROUGH sync as I couldn't find them before I started sync and thought that might help. Really didn't. Sync was only loaded with version 6, never used it on 3. Updated from 3 to 6; tried to find bookmarks. All unsorted ones GONE. accessed sync; no bookmarks. went back to three. never shifting again, version 6 is a quick trip to hell. Should have known not to trust the program to preserve bookmarks, blame myself for being so bloody stupid to trust it to keep my information safe. Moral: always save multiple backups.

Your reply suggests that you have moved Mail to a different location, which (as I said) will prevent it from being properly updated. You cannot use Mail 4.5 with any recent version of Mac OS X. Mac OS X 10.7 (Lion) included Mail 5 and Mac OS X 10.8 (Mountain Lion) includes Mail 6. I'm assuming that you have either Lion or Mountain Lion, but if that is incorrect, you will need to provide that information.
At this point, you will need to reinstall your system. Hold down command-R at startup and reinstall the system right on top of the old one. This should not disturb any of your documents or applications, though you should have backups beforehand in case something goes wrong. And at this point, with your system in an uncertain state (I don't entirely know what you have done to it), something could go wrong.
You will also want to delete the old copy of Mail 4.5, wherever that is. You can't use it.
In the future, do not move any of the preinstalled applications. Leave them where they are.

Thanks a lot for your swift response. And sorry if it was a bit too hectic to go through my detailed query (which I did because it was misunderstood when I asked previously). As I've mentioned above, I was informed that updating to 5.0.1 would '''require''' me to '''delete''' the current version and then install the new one. And doing so will involve losing all my bookmarks. I guess I should have been more specific and detailed there. By losing, I didn't mean losing them forever. I'm aware that they're secured in some place and deleting and installing the software doesn't harm its existence. What I meant that if I install the new version, I'd have to delete the old one. And after installing the new version, I'd have to transfer them (bookmarks) back from wherever they are. Get it? When it updated from 3.6.9 to 3.6.13, and from 3.6.13 to 3.6.18, I didn't need to follow that process. They were already present on their own.
BTW, I'm having no problems with 3.6.18 but after learning about the existence of version 5.0.1, I'm a bit too eager to lay my hands over it.

I had toclear the hard drive of my computer and reinstall Windows 7. Now I want to transfer all the music and photos from my iPad back onto my computer. I authorized the computer (it is the ONLY computer authorized on this account - and this is the ONLY account on this iPad). ITunes then downloaded my purchases...or at least it tried - out of the hundreds of tracks I have purchased, it managed one album that I bought over a year ago and NOTHING else. So I tried to Sync - since on older versions of iTunes (that were SO MUCH MORE user friendly) that would do the job -transferring things that were only on the iPad onto the computer and vice versa. It doesn't do that anymore. So I went from my iPad's summary to the Music tab - the box for Music was not checked but when I checked it said the only thing it could do was erase EVERYTHING from my iPad and replace it with what was on my computer (that ONE album). What is going on?

Depends on why it's ineligible. If it's under 96 Kpbs, try right-clicking on the file and choosing Create AAC Version. (If you don't see this option, go to iTunes>Preferences, click "Import Settings..." then choose "Import Using: AAC Encoder" and "Setting: iTunes Plus".) Then rescan your library to see if this version will add to iTunes Match. Or, after changing your import setting, just re-import the song to your iTunes library.
If the song is over 200 MB you would have to reduce it's size to make it eligible.

No, apps (plus other content bought from Apple such as music and films) are tied to the account that bought / downloaded them and they can't be copied or transferred to a different account.

You need to back up your current iPad either to your computer, or if you are on the cloud to the cloud. Then when you go to set up your new iPad, you'll either restore it from the computer (iTunes backup) or if you back up to the cloud, wirelessly from the cloud. The new device will give you the option to restore from a cloud backup if you are using the cloud.
