  • What is the latest PC Sync for Sony (Ericsson) Mobiles?

I see different types of software for syncing Sony devices. But which of the followings are the lastest and which one(s) are expired.
    Sony Ericsson PC Suite 6.011.00
PC Suite for Sony Ericsson 1.6.0
Sony PC Companion & Sony Media Go
Is "Sony Ericsson PC Suite" replaced by "Sony PC Companion"? If so, does it cover old Sony Ericsson mobiles such as k310- k750- w810?

PC companion is a replacement for PC suite version 6 (but not for other versions), so any phone that is compatible with this version of PC suite, will also be compatible with PC companion. However, other versions of PC suite can still be used, so none of them have actually expired. As for Media Go, there have been several updates which should work with any phone that is compatible with this application.
    Hope this helps.

  • NetBeans Midlet signing not working for Sony Ericsson M600i

    Hi,
I'm developing an midlet that uses FileConnection class extensively. I intend to deploy the midlet on Sony Ericsson M600i. I want to make my Midlet a trusted one so that the annoying warning popups stop each time access the device filesystem.
I created a keystore in netbeans and created a certificate using keytool using that keystore. Then I installed the certificate on the device. When I tried to depoly the midlet it says 'security check failed. cant install'.
the device has MIDP 2.0 and CLDC 1.1
pls explain how to make my Midlet trusted.
    thank you in advance

pls explain how to make my Midlet trusted. You have to purchase a certificate (Verisign, Thawte...). NetBeans and WTK self-generated certificates are only for testing on the emulator and are not recognized by any handset (the root certificate is not available in the certificate store). And then, whether your purchased certificate is recognized by a specific device is both manufacturer/model and carrier dependent.

Haven't come across anything similar for SE phones though.

  • Sony Ericsson M600i?

I was wondering if the Sony Ericsson M600i is still not supported? Do anyone have a M600i and how do you sync it?

You still can't sync it with iSync - and this will always be the case until Sony Ericsson updates the firmware of the phone (like they did with the P1i, P990i etc.), which is not likely to happen now.
The forthcoming *Missing Sync for Symbian* is currently in public beta and supports the M600i though...

  • SIP Library for Sony Ericsson K750i

    Hell all,
I want to develop some application for Sony Ericsson K750i which requires the SIP protocol implementation. Can any one tell me from where i can download the SIP library. Does Sony phones support SIP Libraries. Please just provide me the links if any one knows it
    Thanks a lot

you can use Salling Clicker to do an excellent job of that but i think it costs about $30. It does plenty of other things as well but if you're wanting a free solution then you should download Sony Ericsson's bluetooth remote control editor and then you can make a remote profile which will interpret your key-presses on the phone as keys on the keyboard or combinations of keys on the keyboard. You can then send this to your phone and then access it through the entertainment pane. Salling clicker offers a much more refined solution where you can go from on the desktop to the end of your presentation without even touching the mac. The other solution would require you to open up your presentation and would only allow simple navigation through the presentation.
    i hope this helps

  • Need modem string for sony ericsson S710a

After spending an hour-plus with an Apple Care specialist we think the reason the iBook isn't communicating with the S710a is that I possibly don't have the correct modem script selected. Cingular told me Ericsson Infrared should be fine. Sony said they couldn't find the information. CAN ANYONE HELP ME AND TELL ME WHAT THE MODEM SCRIPT IS THAT I SHOULD SELECT? At this point I can't get the computer to dial any number in address book at all.
    THANK YOU,
    John

  • AVD for Sony Ericsson

    Hello,
I am using the Eclipse editor, for Android SDK API level 15, and I have loaded in the Sony Ericsson add-on from:
    http://developer.sonyericsson.com/edk/android/repository.xml
According to the Eclipse log, the edk is found:
    Fetching URL: http://developer.sonyericsson.com/edk/android/repository.xml
    Validate XML: http://developer.sonyericsson.com/edk/android/repository.xml
    Parse XML:    http://developer.sonyericsson.com/edk/android/repository.xml
Found EDK 1.2 by Sony Ericsson Mobile Communications AB, Android API 10, revision 1
    Done loading packages.
However, when I try to create an AVD using the Android Virtual Device Manager, the Sony Ericsson device is not found in the list of available targets.
Please note that in this most recent Android SDK level 15, the SDK Manager and AVD Manager are separate applications, thus making your documentation and instructions showing them as one single application here:
    http://developer.sonyericsson.com/wportal/devworld/technology/android/edk/overview?cc=gb&lc=en
    a bit obsolete.
    Can you please help me?
    Thank you.
    Edward Cerullo

    Hi,
    Thnks for your answer.
My problem is with step number 4 in your instructions. There is no option for Sony Ericsson in the "Target" dropdown menu.
This is what I did to install the Sony Ericsson EDK:
    1. Click Window
    2. Click Android SDK Manager (which in Android API 15 is now a separate option from previous versions were SDK and AVD were together)
    3. Click Tools
    4. Click Manage Add-On Sites
    5. Click the Add button
    6. Add http://developer.sonyericsson.com/edk/android/repository.xml
    7. Click the Close button, which returns me to the Android SDK Manager screen
    8. Packages start loading, and the log shows:
    Fetching URL: http://developer.sonyericsson.com/edk/android/repository.xml
    Validate XML: http://developer.sonyericsson.com/edk/android/repository.xml
    Parse XML: http://developer.sonyericsson.com/edk/android/repository.xml
Found EDK 1.2 by Sony Ericsson Mobile Communications AB, Android API 10, revision 1
    Done loading packages.
    What am I missing here?
    Thank you.
    /Edward

  • Where to download FLPlayer for Sony Ericsson.

Where can we download the Flash Lite Player for Sony Ericsson
    Phones?

I have tried for long time to find flash player for Sony
    Ericsson UIQ series.
But the result is failed. I don't why Adobe/Macromedia not
    released the version.
When I was searching for UIQ 3 phones in sonyericsson site,
they mentioned flash player is there in the phone. At the time of
buying they are removed from their site. They are not mentioned any
    reasons for remove.
I am searching for Flash player for more than 8 months. There
    is no use.
If any one knows any 3rd party plug-ins also ok for me.
    Thanks in advance.

  • Compatability Sony Ericsson M600i

    Hi guys,
In the compatability list of iSync the Sony Ericsson M600i is not mentioned. Has anyone expierence using this phone to synchronize contacts and calender with the Mac? Please let me know!
    Thanks a lot!
    Niels

This subject has been discussed at great length on here over the last 6 months or so. Just type 'm600' in the search box, top-right, to read up on the many existing threads.
But basically, no, you can't iSync an M600i.

  • DST iCal bug (at least for Sony Ericsson mobiles)

The recent Daylight Savings changes caused a baffling bug to show itself. I keep my phone's calendar (Sony Ericsson K610i) synchronised with my iCal calendar. This includes my timetable for the academic term, with about 13 weekly recurring events.
As the term starts in September, they straddle the change in daylight savings, so when the change occurred, all these recurring events appeared an hour earlier on my phone than in iCal.
I thought this was a time zone issue, but no amount of fiddling with time zone and DST settings on the phone resolved this. Eventually, I realised they were recurring, and moved the first occurrence of each event after the DST change in iCal, selecting "Update All Future Events", then moved them back. Suddenly on synching, they're correct (though only after the DST change — a well-known limitation).
This meets the definition of a bug in my mind, and should be resolved automatically by iCal/iSync. I hope that Apple will do something about this, as I couldn't find any explanation of this at all.

This has always been the case, for all Sony Ericsson phones, and neither Apple nor Sony Ericsson seem willing to fix it through years of different handsets and updated versions of iSync.
Basically, all you have to do when the clocks change, is change the Daylight Savings setting in the phone accordingly, and re-sync.
Everything will then be fine right up until any events after the next clocks change - so you're good for 6 months anyway!
I've also fiddled with all the internal options within the iSync (not accessible through the interface), and nothing works satisfactorily there either. It's possible to disable time zone support completely, but then you have to just change the time on the phone, instead of the Daylight Savings setting, so it's no easier than just re-syncing.

  • New isync 2.2 won't synce with sony ericsson S700i on 10.4.6

Like everyone else I was happily running iSync with 10.4.5 worked perfect now after updating to 10.4.6 I get the same as with everyone else. I did all the blah blah Apple 2.2 Sync details to the letter from their site. Sync gets most of the way and the phone spews back the " can't do this cos of error in phone???".....we are all feeling the pain I think. So tell me Apple? Did you try it on a Sony Ericsson before give it to us???....Man talk about a pain.
You should have left it alone? So do I get to send you a bill for my lost time? I charge $200 per hour as a design consultant and you and your great update has cost me an $200 in lost time....would have rather spent it on itunes at least that way I get something for my money instead of a frustrating experience. For God's sake test before you stuff everyones frustration!
    G5 POWERMAC   Mac OS X (10.4.5)

The S700i uses the same phone firmware software as the K700 and K750. We are discussing this problem over here: http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=429497&tstart=0
I have a S700i as well and right now, I decided to sync it with my Powerbook running OS X 10.4.5 until a solution is posted.
10.4.6 feels a bit rushed to be honest See you in the other thread!

  • Adobe Acrobat for Sony-Ericsson P900 "Master of All"

A year later and the P900 is finally available (in a "watch this space" kind of way) and the lucky few that have them already are starting to fall in love with them.
Perhaps a Sony-Ericsson digitally signed version can now become available - running under what is essentially "Open Symbian" not "Nokia Symbian".
The P900 seems pretty much like a dead cert to take over the Marketplace that the Nokia Communicator never quite managed to properly target.
Looks like a few diehards will still be using their Communicators in five years time after having forked out for the hardware in the first place, but there is a new sheriff in town.

' PLEASE GAWD!!!! We need a PDF reader for UIQ that will allow us to read DRM (sPDF) protected eBooks. PLEASE. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE!!!!! eBooks and the ease and portability thereof is one of the PRIMARY reasons I have myself a PDA (or in this case smartphone - one beefy enought to be classified as a PDA essentially as well). Not being DRM-enabled is crippling.
' Because of Adobe's seeming disinterest in the platfrom, and previous experience I've had on other Symbian devices - for PDF access I HAPPILY use MBrain Software's "PDF+" - BY FAR the best PDF-reader for the Symbian platform... It runs on MOST Symbian devices and looks great. But no DRM module exists for it.
' Methinks Adobe is asleep at the wheel though... The smartphone market is one of the fastest growing market segments globally and Symbian is leading the way. And yet Adobe supports a total of 3 different Symbian devices?!? All from the same vendor and in the same model family!?! Scary.
' Makes you wonder whether someone else is likely to run over Adobe with a superior format of their own IP. Heehee. Looks that way.
' WAKE UP ADOBE!!! For goodness sake - the UIQ platform has been widely available for over two years already - let's not even mention the myriad other Symbian platforms!!! Get with the program!
    ' Please?
    ' ~Moi
