I synced my iPod to my comp and it deleted everything, now it won't sync.
My problem started around a month ago or so, I'd plug my iPod in and it wouldn't sync any new songs, it said something like "Disk couldn't be read or something", then nearly two weeks ago I plugged it in to charge it and when it was done, I pluged it out and all the fils in it, music, photos, videos, etc. had been deleted. Now I can't sync it back, it says error, or "the disk could not be found" or stuff like that.
I told a friend about it and he told me that the problem was probably the hard disk (hardware, I'm not sure about the name, sorry), he told me it'd probably broken.
Can please help me?

- Transfer iTunes purchases by:
iTunes Store: Transferring purchases from your iPhone, iPad, or iPod to a computer
- To transfer other music you need a third-party program like one of those discussed here:
Copy music from Ipod to new computer...: Apple Support Communities
- Connect the iPod to the computer and make a backup by right clicking on the iPod under Devices in iTunes and select Back Up.
- Restore the iPod from that backup -
I transfered all purchased files from the ipod to the mac, but its only transferring purchases that I made directly from the itouch. I backed up my pc to a WD external HD, BUT it has to be formated to a Mac in order for it to be read by a Mac which obviously won't work because everything will be deleted from the HD in the reformat. I purchased a LOT of my music through Itunes and/or amazon. I don't care so much about the games, but if I lost all the music I have it would definitely be hundreds of dollars and obviously that's way unacceptable. PLEASE HELP!!!
You can redownload most iTunes purchases again via iCloud. See this article for more details.
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store
I'm guessing your external HD is formatted as NTFS? You can add the capability for your Mac to read/write to NTFS formatted drives using additional software. Here is are a few possibilities.

Updated my iPod and it wiped everything now it won't resync
I went to update my 160 gig iPod Classic yesterday and when it was done, everything on the iPod was gone. I plugged it back in and used iTunes to Restore my iPod to factory settings then resync my entire library. I have around 80 gigs of music and it has been syncing for almost 24 hours and isn't even halfway done and seems to get stuck on a single song once in a while. My computer is an iMac that's about 2 years old so I wouldn't think that the computer is what is bottlenecking this process. Any insight to this would be appreciated.
You didn't import all of your pics regularly? Particularly before an update?
They may very well be gone.
You can try restoring from backup. -
I have an iphone 4 that I use as an iPod. It is not connected to a wireless network. I have updated to the IOS 7 and now it won't sync with my computer. Does anyone know what could possibly be the problem?
Contacts are designed to be synced to a supported application on the computer or a cloud service.
Pictures taken with the device are designed to regularly be copied off the device to a computer as would be done with any digital camera.
If you have failed to use the device as designed it may be too late to recovery anything.
Is the device regularly backed up to a computer via iTunes? If so, the most recent backup (when restored to a replacement iOS device) should contain all contacts and pictures as of when the backup was created. -
I did not sync my iPod Touch with iTunes and I have forgotten my password and now it is locked. I have the recovery mode screen at "conect to iTunes", but iTunes is not recognizing it. How do I unlock it?
Place the iOS device in Recovery Mode and then connect to your computer and restore via iTunes. The iPod will be erased.
iOS: Wrong passcode results in red disabled screen
If recovery mode does not work try DFU mode.

I have a new Laptop, how can I sync my IPOD music ,photo libary and Apps to the new computor without losing anything? My old laptop is kaput.
You can transfer iTunes purchases by:
iTunes Store: Transferring purchases from your iPhone, iPad, or iPod to a computer
Most other stuff by the third-party programs discussed here:
Best iPod to PC
However, your app data such as saved games will be lost unless you have a backup file from your old computer. -
what do i do when i try to sync my ipod touch to itunes and it shows me an error message that the sync session failed to start?
Hello brainiac08
Typically that error occurs because of a backup issue. Check out the article below to resolve it.

I just updated my iTunes to the new software. When I plugged it into my computer and it said I need to reset my iPod. I did this and everything on my iPod deleted. Now, it won't let me sync my music or apps back onto my iPod. What do I do?
It doesn't say anything. It runs through the sync process like normal and tells me all of the songs that it's synking. But then when it says I can disconnect it, nothing actually synked.

I tried to restore my ipod touch 2nd generation and now it won't sync to itunes. On the screen is the USB end of the cord and the iTunes logo over it.
I have turned it off and on, held the off button down and the select button down but it still comes up with that picture on the screen. Have I broken it?
Please help.
MimiIt means the device is in recovery mode. You'll need to reconnect it to iTunes and restore it again.
You may need to connect it in recovery mode manually using the instructions in this Apple support document.
iOS: Unable to update or restore

just got a new mac- been using PC. Having problems syncing my Ipod to my mac and when i try and purchase a song, itunes says "network connections timed out"- what am I doing wrong??
Try a hard reset by pressing the Home button and Wake / Sleep button at the same time, keep them both pressed until the Apple Logo appears on the screen.
This does not lose any data on your iPad.
