I synched my iPhone and all my contacts disappeared
I have been using Outlook for my contacts with GMail as my mail providor (I have a lot of different email addresses all going in to the one inbox) for a long time and suddenly one day, all my contact disappeared off my iphone - now when I go in to Settings for the GMail account, Contacts is not an option for synching.
You should have an option to select gmail for contact sync in iTunes no matter what. its part of the programming in itunes. Might want to reinstall itune again if this is not a option.

I used my apple Id and my iCloud account on my mom's iPhone and all my contacts and stuff went to her phone and hers on mine. I tried to delete my apple id off of her phone now how do I delete the iCloud? And will the data from my phone be deleted too if I delete my iCloud off of her phone?

Well, yeah. You want to create separate accounts for each of you, using individual Apple IDs. I know mothers and daughters like to share clothes, shoes, handbags, etc. but don't share Apple IDs. -

like roaminggnome said you should see your contacts again once you sync with iTunes. if you used iCloud before, make sure contact sync is turned on and your contacts should be back.

Are you saying that you had all your music safely stored in itunes and now it's all gone? You might try getting back the itunes folder that contains all your music (you haven't told us what kind of computer you're using) from a computer backup, say from a day ago. If using a mac, look in Time Machine, in the music folder for your account.

All my daughters photos disappeared after she updated her phone. She thought she backed up but is not sure and now nothing is on the phone or laptop.
As the manual explains, you should be importing all pics taken with iphone regularly as you would with any digital camera, most especially before any update/restore/etc.
If she failed to do this, then the pics are likely gone.
She can try restoring from backup. -

Have you checked inside this "Recently Added" album? if you see inside this folder there are 2 options: photos and albums - by selecting photos i can see all my ones. hope it works for you too. -
2 iphone 4, 1 computer. i upgraded to ios 5 and just updated my wifes phone as well. her phone got wiped of all apps and all my contacts were put on her phone. we had been using the same apple id but different user acct on our laptop. How do i get her phone back to normal??
Have your wife log in to her user account on the laptop. Launch iTunes, then connect her phone to the computer with the USB cable. Sync. That should put back all apps and media. Since you already upgraded her to iOS 5 she'll have to manually enter all her settings and preferences, and organize her home screens.

Sync the content to the device the same way you always have.
Or maybe it would be a good idea to read the manual and understand the proper way (according to Apple) to use the device. -

How much free space do you have on your hard drive? - Note that you need an absolute minimum of 10GB at all times for normal operation of your computer
Deleteing photos probably is not the answer - you probably need to purchase an external hard drive and move your iPHoto library (and possibley iTunes library) to it - you can operate that way (be sure the EHD is always available when you launch iPHoto) or you can have a small library on your MB and use iPhoto Library Manager - http://www.fatcatsoftware.com/iplm/ - to move photos between teh internal and external hard drive

Moving the iPhoto library is safe and simple - quit iPhoto and drag the iPhoto library intact as a single entity to the external drive - depress the option key and launch iPhoto using the "select library" option to point to the new location on the external drive - fully test it and then trash the old library on the internal drive (test one more time prior to emptying the trash)
And be sure that the External drive is formatted Mac OS extended (journaled) (iPhoto does not work with drives with other formats) and that it is always available prior to launching iPhoto
And backup soon and often - having your iPhoto library on an external drive is not a backup and if you are using Time Machine you need to check and be sure that TM is backing up your external drive
