I think I deleted something I shouldn't have, I photo gets hung up.

A while back I tried to delete photos from Iphoto. I can still download photos from my camera and they go into the Iphoto library and i can see them in the library but when I try to open a photo, actually when I click on any part of the Iphoto screen it gets hung up. I always have to force quit to get out of it. Is there something I can do to fix this.

Can you open the Preview program without loading a file, like by itself?
If it doesn't load then I suspect a corrupt Preview preference file.
Deleting the System Preference or other .plist file
Can you open other files with Preview, like jpg's and images?
How about other PDFs? or is it just that one you have downloaded?

I think I deleted something I shouldn't have

I just got my computer back from getting a new hard drive installed and I wanted to restore everything from my back up hard drive on to my new drive. I tried just copying what I had, but it wouldn't complete. I started trashing some stuff off the new hard drive and I guess I threw the wrong folder in there, because it just froze up. Now my computer wont boot up. I just get the message to turn off my computer by holding down the power button for several seconds. Is there any way to just start all over and reinstall Mac OS X?

Unfortunately, I have already tried inserting the startup disk to no avail. When I insert the disk, nothing happens. The screen that comes up telling me to "restart your computer" is followed by the screen dimming and all kinds of computer language coming up over it (as you can tell, I'm not too computer saavy). The word "panic" does appear on the screen a couple of times, and it also mentions not being able to find the driver. The final line is "Panic: we are hanging here". Is it possible I threw my drivers in the trash, and if so, what does that mean and how can I resolve this problem? Any help on the matter is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

so if you read my previous discussion, I was having iPhoto problems. I found an RC build of lightroom, and so thinking I had around 6,000 pictues in iPhoto, and thinking I'll just drag them all on the desktop, after a while I thought it wasn't a good idea, so tried to delete them and do eent by event, no my computer freezes, like I turned it off and turning it back on again, after 30 seconds to a minute, it freezes but I can still do the mouse. I thought it would be a good idea, but it wasn't. I just should have ben goingeen by event likee I was, but I thought this would be better. Any help is really apreciated. I'm on a different computer and have mine shut down to let it cool off before trying again. Trying not to freak out again. Running Lion

If you mean the listing of internet streams that seems to have disappeared for many users of older iTunes versions over week ago. Probably some update at Apple broke older versions. No idea if it will ever come back but you can open stream URLs you find on the web and save them in playlists.

Firefox stores your personal data in the Firefox profile folder and that data is not affected by an uninstall and reinstall.

Look and see if there is a lock icon in the upper right corner of the iPad screen. If the icon is there, that indicates that you locked the screen orientation.
There are wo ways to unlock the screen - depending on how you have the settings configured on your iPad.
Check the side switch above the volume rocker on the side of the IPad. Flip the switch. If the lock icon goes away, the screen is unlocked and you had the iPad set to use the side switch for screen orientation.
The other place to look is in the task bar. Double tap the home button and swipe to the right at the bottom of the screen. Look all the way to the left. If there is a lock icon there, tap that to unlock the screen. Then tap the screen above the task bar to get back to the home screen.
IF ... There was no lock icon in the upper right corner of the screen, reboot the iPad and see if that unlocks the orientation.
Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.
The article that Alan referenced above, explains how to use the side switch as the screen lock - or the way to mute system sounds. It is well worth a look.

I was cleaning up my laptop and may have deleted something I thought was my daughter's itunes stuff. I don't have that on laptop anymore. Quick Time keeps giving me periodic errors saying install Apple Application Support then closes my browser. How do I find what I need to re-install?

C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Apple\Installer Cache\** is where Apple Application Support gets installed with the newer version of QT 7.6.5
If it is not there QT will not run. I don't know how your going to get it without re-installing QT, or at least I'm not aware of how to just get that file alone.

Help! I've downloaded something I shouldn't have

I need help. All I wanted to do was create a "siggy." I looked for Adobe Photoshop that worked with Windows XP. I downloaded CS6 13.0.1.1 because it said it worked with Windows XP. Now I have a problem and do not know what to do...I downloaded this two days ago and it's still not working. It's on my computer but it's still downloading...I've tried to delete it by add or remove and delete after searching, but it will not go away. Can someone help me? I just need a trial download that works with Windows XP to creat a siggy and then be done with it. I don't want to pay $699 for a siggy. First I need to remove this from my computer...

I cannot promise anything with getting rid of it but I can try alittle until someone who knows this beast comes along.
You say the file is still downloading. Have you shutdown your computer since this all started? You should try that first.
If when you retsart you see something is still actively downloading, then go into your Task Manager (Ctrl-Alt-Delete) and see if it is listed as Running in your Applications section. If it is, use the End Task button to try to stop it.

What does it mean if my inserts have slash marks through them? It still has the effect names, but there are slashes through them and I'm getting no audio.
I just upgraded to LE 8 today, but in the process, I deleted everything that had to do with Logic (aside from my song files) and re-installed LE 7, then upgraded to LE 8. I'm wondering if during my mass deletion, I might have done something to make this happen. But then again, I re-installed everything, so it doesn't seem like there should be an issue.

Nevermind, I figured it out.

Please please please will someone find a way to tell itunes to put some sort of 'undo' button on their notes app!? if they just did that one simple thing, people wouldnt be so angry or sad about deleting something. they can just press undo to get it back!

If iTunes could add this to an update then I (and surely many others) would be extremely happy that it would be easier to get back your accidently deleted notes right then and there so you wouldnt have to stress about the fact that you have to delete everything off of your ipod and restore the whole thing just to get your notes back (though most of the time, if you're willing to do this, then the notes are very important and you may need them). I have accidently deleted my important notes twice and it takes a long time to get them back and even then, you dont get them all back, you just get back what you synced to your computer last. there is a good chance that the way you accidently deleted your notes is while you were working on them and how would you get all of that back if it was completely new? you can't. you just have to redo absolutely everything you just did, if you can even remember all of it. i know i cant remember half the stuff i have on my important notes because all of the things i have on there are specifically there TO remind me of things. im sure you can see how this would make the itunes world a much easier place to navigate in and you wouldnt have to go to places like this one and try to find out how to get only half the notes you might really need.

HT201317 I am having problems with photos, my phone has been telling me it has no space to take any more photos. After various attempts to delete photos, sync etc. I have now managed to delete some albums I now have 2 photo stream albums!

I have tried syncing, deleting, and eventually powered the phone off which seemed to delete the albums I had stored. However it has now left me with two versions of Photo stream one with 214 photos, and one with 475. I think a lot of the photos are duplicated! I have deleted Apps as well to try to free up some space, but I really don't undersIAtand how syncing works. Is there a tutorial that anyone knows about which will explain it to a non-techie person in plain english? I am still not sure whether I am giving myself problems because I'm not doing something right. It always feels like I am syncing the phone to the computer, rather than the other way round! I couldn't tell you whether they are in your camera roll too, you'd need to take a look to see whether they are or not.
Turning photostream off and on again, won't affect any photos in your camera roll.

Keyboard non-functioning - may have deleted something essential!

Help! My keyboard has stopped working. Inexplicably, the mouse is fine, but nothing comes up when I type. I suspect that I may have deleted something essential.
I was ruthlessly deleting things off my hard drive in an attempt to make iMovie and iDVD work properly - getting rid of unused printer drivers, etc. - and I'm afraid I might have deleted something I shouldn't have. Everything worked fine until I tried to type a title into iDVD, at which point the program promptly shut down. I double-clicked the Keyboard and Mouse control panel, and the system folder promptly closed (I could open the other control panels without issue). I tried to do a restart in safe mode, and the shift key seemed to work to get that going, but I couldn't type in my password in the log-in screen!
I assume I will have to reinstall system software (which will do away with all that nice free space I created), but how do I do that when the CD-eject button is on the keyboard and I can't type my password?
I will appreciate any help!!

if the shift key seemed to work to get into safe mode, but wouldn't work once logged in, the keyboard should work to boot to the install disk. simply put in the install disk number one (make sure it is for the current operating system) and hold down the c during startup. do disk repair beforehand, and make sure it fixes all errors, before attempting to reinstall. http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=106214 once you proceed in the installer, make sure you select the macintosh hd as the destination, then choose archive and install, preserving users and network settings. complete instructions are in this article. http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=107120 good luck to you.
