I think i have deleted mac partition!!

I installed Windows 7 with bootcamp and i guess i kind of rushed it and deleted the Mac side of the hard drive... I have tried holding R and Command and the Alt key but it just boots to Windows. I have also tried putting my mac osx cd to see if i can re install it but it doesnt let me. Is there any way to just re format my whole hard drive, i dont care if i lose any files or anything just want to get this windows off my mac...

Start up the computer holding the Alt key after hearing the startup chime until you see the disks in the screen. If you see Macintosh HD, choose it. Then, go to System Preferences > Startup Disk, and select Macintosh HD.
If you don't see Macintosh HD, erase the drive. Depending on the Mac OS X version, you have to start in Recovery (holding Command and R keys while your Mac is starting) or in the Mac OS X disc (holding the C key while the computer is starting), and use Disk Utility to erase the drive > http://pondini.org/OSX/DU1.html

Hi during playing around with my MBA i think i have despite all the warnings deleted everything from my laptop. I do not have a back up or usb start up. when i boot the laptop it says no bootable device found, i have tried various configerations of alt cntr r etc the best i can get it to is a spinning grey globe that says looking for internet connection. it does not see my wifi so i do have a usb-rj45 adapter that if i plug into the R/H side usb port lets it see the internet (i think) it then brings up a down load bar but this never moves and in the end brings an error nummber up i think it was -0007 or -0002.
Do i have to buy new mountain lion or usb start up stick
I have access to a windows PC (not mac) so can use this to create a usb if someone helps an idiot out

It gdisk to be installed, and a bit of terminal knowledge, but it fixed the problem for me. For this step:
add partion 5 to the MBR
It was partition 4 for me. You should first use gdisk's 'p' command to find the number of your bootcamp partition, and then use that number.

Recovering Data from a deleted Mac partition

Through no fault of my own, (an IT department at a well know digital data storage company that will remain nameless) I had all the partitions deleted from my hard drive. No data was damaged, but the Mac partition and the FAT 32 I had windows 7 running on with bootcamp were both deleted. My hard drive is now 250 gigs of unallocated space.
Is there any easy and inexpensive way to recover that data? I'm pretty sure I can't just "undelete" the deleted partitions but it would be nice to get my data off so I don't have to go from the DVD back ups from christmas time.
Anyway I found Disk Warrior and Drive Genius that claim to recover data but they are both about $100.
Any ideas?
Here's the irony of the situation, I was using the utility given me by the IT department while trying to setup a NAS device so I can create regular time machine backups in case anything happened to my lappy. So by trying to get a system working that would help me protect my data, it deleted my data. I would have been fine without it. GRRRR...

Hi, Take the HDD out and connect it to another system then run R-Studio against it. It can recover FAT partitions and I have used it many times with great sucess.

It's certainly odd that the discs haven't re-created the Recovery Partition - the only suggestion I have at the moment is to try the process again as follows.
First, click the Start Menu, open Computer and double-click Local Disk C - you should see a folder called swsetup. This will contain all the driver installers and practically all of the software installers for your notebook - back this up to an external device/media.
Next, back-up all your personal files etc to an external device/media.
Shutdown the notebook. Tap away at the esc key as soon as you press the Power Button to launch the Start-up Menu. Insert your first Recovery Disc. Select 'Boot Options' in he Start-up Menu, use the arrow keys to select the CD/DVD drive and then hit enter - press any key if prompted to start the Recovery Process. Choose the 'Factory Reset' option.
When the process has completed and you are in Windows, hold down the Windows Key and press R. Into the Run Box type compmgmt.msc and hit enter. Click Disk Management in the left pane and when the partitions have loaded, see if the Recovery Partition D is now listed.

Assuming you are using Mail, delete them in mail and then empty the Mail's trash. Also check Mail - Preference - Accounts - Mailbox Behaviors - Trash setting

I use an HP PSC1600 printer/scanner. Recently I had to reinstall my OS, and today I tried to scan for the first time since doing so. The scanner didn't work, and unfortunately I went on the wrong route to try to fix it. Instead of the usual 'keep on trying till it works', I tried reinstalling the software from the HP disks that came with the printer. After setup had repeatedly failed, I found some online help on the HP website that advised uninstalling all HP software and emptying trash. I did so, and in the process I also had to go into Activity Monitor and quit some HP processes that were running, and restart.
Having done all this, I tried again to reinstall the software from the disk. After that didn't work again, I took a closer look at HP support and found that the software is not supported by Snow Leopard, but that the drivers that come bundled and through Software Update do. Unfortunately Software Update doesn't find any new software, and now printing has also stopped working for me as well as scanning. I would be grateful for any advice as to how I can get things back to the status quo ante.

I stupidly clicked on a MacShield pop-up telling me my computer was infected and requesting me to download it. I stopped halfway through and binned the download but i keep getting pop-ups from spam/**** now and keep getting requests to register the program. Can i get rid of this myself and how much damage is it doing to my system?

Delete several partitions in physical model

Hi All,
I don't know if someone has the same necessity than me, if not maybe is because I don't know how to do something that is already implemented,
anyway, my question is:
How can I delete several partitions (400) at the same time from the same table in the physical model?
I can select the partitions but the contextual menu is not working, I can press delete button into the toolbar but is doing nothing,
I imported from my data dictionary a schema with several tables that have a lot of partitions and I'm not interested to save these partitions,
when I try to generate the DDL is generating all of the partitions and I don't want the DDL with thousands of partitions inside,
the number of tables with partitions is not so high but is not comfortable to go one by one selecting the partitions and deleting the object (400 times in one table),
I can modify the table to say that is not partitioned and all the partitions will disappear but I then need to modify again the tables and include the fields for the partitions and sub-partitions, not useful,
another option could be to select during the import if I want to import only one partition of each table
but I 'm not sure is at the end it's needed just because I think that only deleting the partitions with one operation should be enough, at least for me

First of all thanks for your quick response and for your help logging the enhancement request,
I am testing more or less your suggestion but I am not sure if I understood exactly what you mean,
1)I imported from data dictionary in a new model and into the options menu on the schema select screen I un-ckecked partitions and triggers,
I guessed that the import should not get from the data dictionary the information about the partitions but the result is that the tables partitioned (by list in this case) are partitioned by range without fields into the physical model on SDDM,
2)I select one of the tables modify a NO partitioned option and propagate the option for the rest of the tables
3) I imported again from data dictionary but this time I included the partitions into the option menu on select schema screen,
into tabular view on compare models screen I can select all the tables with different partitioned option, also I can change for "list partitions" and select only the partitions that I want to import.
So I have a solution for my problem, thanks a lot for your suggestion
The second step I'm not sure is needed or maybe I can avoid the step with some configuration setting in any of the preferences screen,
if not, I think the options to not include partitions into select schema screen are not so clear, at least for me,
please, could you confirm me if a way to avoid the second step exists or if I misunderstood this option?
