I Think I May Have Figured It Out!

Hello Everyone!
First off I would like to say thank you - so much. I just got my ipod back from repair - my FOURTH ipod back from repair, do to the glich with the new iTunes update. Unfortunatly... vista, and linux wouldn't detect my iPod.
So i called customer service.
After a 45 minute wait, I talked to a gentleman about resetting my ipod... but my ipod and itunes couldn't stay connected long enough to reset it.
so we ran it in disc mode
and it works just FINE! all 10,000 some files are transferring beautifully.

Thank you for taking the time to sign up for the forum and post about your recent trip to our Elyria, OH store.  While the trade-in offers that we have are a great benefit for our customers, an experience like the one you had can definitely put a damper on things.  You should not have had to spend 45 minutes in the store trying to explain to us how to process the trade-in.  This is not the first trade-in offer we have had this year, so we should all be pretty familiar with the offer details and how it works.
I am glad you were eventually able to trade-in your tablet for the $50 Best Buy gift card, but I am still very sorry for any inconvenience you may have experienced.  To ensure our Elyria store has the correct offer details, I am going to reach out to their managers.  The current Trade-in offer is valid for another few days, so we want to ensure that another customer does not encounter similar problems while trying to trade-in their tablet.

    Hello : Disgruntled ipoder's, after being on all morning and evening, I have figured it out. Listen to this. I only have had my ipod 7 months. After watching the products be introduce to the public, decided to download new itunes. I think there is a flaw in it. My problem was, system error, needed to re install itunes. Okay, so I had on my computer the last few updates before today.
    So, I removed the programs of the itunes and updater Completely from computer. Yeah, you might think your music is gone but wait. After doing that I reinstalled using my disk from the initial setup. Then, I did not download from the site new itunes. Guess what, My computer recognizes my Ipod now. It is possible your computer still has your music on the drive. I have no errors, no problems. Now my ipod kept saying do not disconnect and I could not hit the menu and even go through the ipod because of error. But, everybody knows you usually can whether it is charging or not.
    Now i just stuck a cd in and imported the music fine and everything. I tell yall what if apple thinks they are gonna get some more money out of me they only have proceeded in #&*#/ me off. To get rid of the mini is just crazy some of us just got it and it hasn't been a yr. Of course new products , they want more profits. I understand but, for many who is really go buy another one? Unless your well off, it may take you a minute to accumulate money. I do wish I had color but, I don't know if I'm willing to rake out another $250 when I was planning next yr to get that laptop I wanted. It was gonna be a powerbook or ibook. I think I will take my time and search elsewhere. So, to sum it all up. I won't be attempting to download anything because apparently there's a problem.

    I hear you, i've only had my ipod mini for about two weeks and i already run into a major problem, because the screen of the ipod is blank, even when i conect it to the pc. I've tried all the suggestions that come in the manuals and nothing has worked.
    If i knew they were going to replace the Ipod Mini i wouldn't have bought it and would have waited for the new one.

    They wouldn't be security questions if they could be bypassed without Apple verifying your identity.

  • I'm trying to redownload my music onto a new computer and its not working..I think I may have two accounts open because the one im signed into is empty and I cant remember my log in info..and when I reset it it doesnt help.

    If things seem to be going haywire with your phone, it seems that it MAY be a software issue.
    Now, that being said, that does not necessarily mean that it is a virus. Software issues do happen sometimes. It is probably just coincidence.
    What you need to do is restore the device using iTunes. This will fix any software issues. After you have done this, you can restore from an iCloud backup.
    iCloud does not back up the actual software, so no, the "virus" would not have gotten into the backups.

    Don't worry! Everything should be back to normal if you follow these steps.

    I'm afraid there is no way too merge two icloud accounts together per se. However if you;
    1. Go to SETTINGS on your iPhone or iPad.
    2. Go to iCLOUD.
    3. Scroll to the very bottom, press DELETE ACCOUNT. Before you panic, this is not going to Delete your iCloud account. It is simply going to delete the bridge that connects your device to the iCloud.
    4. Choose to KEEP ITEMS ON YOUR DEVICE if asked.
    Then sign into your 2nd account, and this will merge both accounts onto one device. There is not much else you can do I'm afraid!

    That's a comment in the file. It has no effect at all.

    Assuming 09 or later...
    Option 1
    Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Choose to Rebuild iPhoto Library Database from automatic backup.
    If that fails:
    Option 2
    Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. This will create a new library based on data in the albumdata.xml file. Not everything will be brought over - no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your albums and keywords back.
    Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one. .

    Do you still have the Pictures folder in your home folder? If not, create a new folder in your home folder and name it Pictures. Make sure the iPhoto Library folder is in the Pictures folder.
    Now launch iPhoto with the Option key depressed until you get a message screen. Choose to open another library and navigate to and highlight the iPhoto Library folder. Click the Open button.
    You didn't move anything around or rename anything in the iPhoto Library folder in the finder, did you?

    How  did you install GarageBand on your Mac? Did it come preinstalled with the other iLife applications?
    If your MacOS supports the AppStore, you should be able to redownload GarageBand from the AppStore, see this support Article: OS X: About OS X Recovery on how to download again:
    Double-click the App Store icon in the dock.
    Enter your Apple ID and password.
    Click Purchases.
    If you haven't previously accepted your bundled iLife applications within the Mac App Store, you should see your iLife applications appear in the Accept portion of the screen. Click Accept.
    You may be asked for your Apple ID and password once again. Your iLife applications now move to the Purchased section. These applications are part of the software that came with your Lion based computer. Your account will not be charged for them. Click Install to complete installation of your applications.

    First, don't create or change any files. The more you do, the less chance you have of recovering any data. Google for Mac data recovery applications. There are several. At least one allows you to use it to see if you can recover data, without paying for it. If you decide to recover it, then you have to pay for the app in order for it to do the recovery.

    Hi i have an old iphone 3 that I have never jailbroken.I believe it may have been jailbroken and had spyware installed because everytime i try to make a call, it always fails the first time and i have to dial again.
    I no longer have acces to my computer to put it back to my factory settings via itunes. Is there any other way to find out what is going on with my phone ?
    Could it just be my service provider or that my phone is too old ?

    If you have Cydia on your phone, it was jailbroken.
    Your symptom of a failed first attempt at a call is not indicative of spyware.   I think you may be a little paranoid about your divorce.

    User/Device affinity has been working well for us for a number of weeks now.  I think maybe some recent changes I made to Group Policy regarding event logs may have borked it because the number of affinity's is slowing going down over the past
    few days according to the "Use device affinity associations per collection" report. 
    Here are the settings I am currently been using for weeks now:
    User Device Minutes: 960
    User Device days: 7
    Auto config: Yes
    Group Policy stuff:
    Audit account logon events: Success, Failure
    Audit logon events: Success, Failure
    Maximum Security log size: 1048576
    Retain security log: 14 days
    Retention method for security log: by days
    These changes were made just recently which we be the problem.  We made these changes because they were filling up the logs with noise and rolling over:
    Audit Filtering Platform Policy Change: Success
    Audit non sensitive Privilege Use: Success
    Audit Sensitive Privilege Use: Success

    Since no one has answer this post, I recommend opening  a support case with CSS as they can work with you to solve this problem.
