I think I might of accidentally deleted my iMovie.

I think I might of accidentally deleted my imovie. It is not in "cache" and the remains in the "application support" folder are not there not there. It is not in my trash.  Is there anyway I can get it back without paying $14.99.

Restore from TimeMachine backup, doesn't get any easier.

Help!  I'm very new to my iphone and i think i might have accidentally deleted my Facetime although my settings tell me I have it.  How do i get it back on my phone?  Thank you.

Built-in apps cannot be deleted. However, there never was a FaceTime icon on the iPhone. FaceTime is accessed by selecting a contact in the Contacts app, and then selecting FaceTime. The same can be done from the Contacts tab in the Phone app.

If you mean you accidentally removed the icon for iMovie from the Dock (the array of icons at the bottom of the window), you can add it back easily.
Open the Applications folder (if you open it from the Dock you may then need to click the Open in Finder icon), locate the iMovie program.
Drag the icon for iMovie down to the Dock, somewhere between the icon for Finder and the dashed line toward the right.
Wait for the icons at that spot to move aside, then drop it in.

  • I might have accidentally deleted the app store. I downloaded webroot secure anywhere and tried to delete some files securely and I might have chosen the app store.

Is there is a way to re download the app store?

    1. Remove the worthless "Webroot" product by following the instructions on this page. If you have a different version of the product, the procedure may be different.
Back up all data before making any changes.
    2. If you don't already have a current backup, back up all data, then reinstall the OS.* You don't need to erase the startup volume, and you won't need the backup unless something goes wrong. If the system was upgraded from an older version of OS X, you may need the Apple ID and password you used.
There are ways to back up a computer that isn't fully functional. Ask if you need guidance.
If you installed the Java runtime distributed by Apple and still need it, you'll have to reinstall it. The same goes for Xcode. All other data will be preserved.
*The linked support article refers to OS X 10.10 ("Yosemite"), but the procedure is the same for OS X 10.7 ("Lion") and later.

  • Accidentally Deleted iMovie DropBox

    Hello Everyone!
    Basic Report:
Here's what I believe happened: Yesterday, I was busy cleaning out screen recordings and other old videos from iMovie, as they were taking up 450GB on my computer and.. Well yes it was in need of a cleaning. After deleting over half of it, I stopped. Today, while I was trying to share a screen recording from Quicktime Player X, it stated "Cannot Locate Your iMovie DropBox." In the process of deleting all those files/movies, I believe I accidentally deleted my iMovie dropbox, making it impossible to share videos to iMovie.
Question: How can I recover my iMovie DropBox?
Note: I'm not clueless about computers, but I'm not the brightest with them either. A basic explanation is much appreciated [:
    Thank you!!

Q: Where and what types of backups do you have?
Are you really using a 65lb Mac Pro or something else?
Normally you move everything to archive or backup, you clone your drive first before making changes, just look on MacUpdate.com for Carbon Copy Cloner.
Buy and have at least two backups. CCC and TimeMachine.
MOVE your files to another drive. Prefer to see drives at 50% and maybe max of 70% full.
You have four internal drive bays. Use 'em. A 2TB WD Black is under US$150. A green 3TB more like $109.
Then leave your drive 'as is.'' and move the system (with CCC) to a small fast 240GB SSD.
All your data on say 2 x 2TB or even just one 4TB drive would be ample. So you don't have to worry about a mere 1TB or so of storage.
And then add external drives using USB3 or eSATA PCIe controllers for your Mac Pro like CalDigit or Sonnet. That way you can have backups off line, and expand your storage beyond just 4 internal drives.
Never delete files until you know they are backed up and safe first.
Now we get to DATA RESCUE 3 demo ($99 for program) and a new spare drive to recover file to. The program is easy to use and self-explanatory but read the guide that comes with it (pdf)

    Hi Judy,
Try closing all of your open applications.  Launch Acrobat and choose Help > Repair Acrobat Installation.
Then try to create your PDF files again.
Let us know how it goes.

  • I have accidentally deleted my voice memo when i pressed the 'delete' button, thinking that is to change the name of my voice memo. is there a way to retrieve the memo back?

I have accidentally deleted my voice memo when i pressed the 'delete' button, thinking that is to change the name of my voice memo. is there a way to retrieve the memo back?
really do not understand why apple provides just one confusing delete button in its newer ios, instead of the previous versions which actually gives a confirmation button of whether to delete voice memo.

What system did the Mac come with and what system are you running now? If it's 2 years old, i.e. bought in 2010 then it came with Leaport or Snow Leopard installed and would have had install disks.  Included in those disk would be a disk similar to one of these:
That would have included iPhoto 8 (09) if bought before October 20, 2010 or iPhoto 9 (11) if bought after that date.  In either case you should have a disk like in the screenshot.  If not then you'll have to purchase an iLIfe 11 boxed disk from a 3rd party retailer like Amazon.com: iLife 11 and install your missing applications from it and then apply the latest updaters from the Apple Downloads web page/

There is nothing that you can do to get rid of the balance on your own. Contact iTunes Store Support and seek their assistance. I believe that they can reset your balance for you.

  • Does iPhoto not have safeguards against accidentally deleting an entire photo book, which is very easily done (when you think you are deleting just a photo)? No "are you sure you want to delete?". No way of copying your book before, or restoring it after?

Does iPhoto not have safeguards against accidentally deleting an entire photo book, which is very easily done with a single press of delete (and which can be done when you think you are deleting just a photo)? No "are you sure you want to delete?" before it happens? No way of copying your book while you are working on it (to make multiple versions of it, or just to have a safeguard copy), and no real way of restoring it after (since, remarkably, the photo books don't appear as items - items which could very easily be recovered otherwise)?

I get a dialog box when I try to delete a book.
And if you right click on the book in the left column you can duplicate it so you can have multiple versions.

  • My iPod was stolen a long a few months ago and I've given up all hope in finding it. I have never purchased item on iTunes, and I think the iCloud might have been deleted. It doesn't show up in "My products" either.

My iPod was stolen a long a few months ago and I've given up all hope in finding it. I have never purchased item on iTunes, and I think the iCloud might have been deleted. It doesn't show up in "My products" too and I tried Find My iPhone.

No. Apple won't do anything without a court order. Since it wasn't upgraded to iOS 7 before it was stolen then there's nothing you can do. You could file a police report with your serial number but there may be a small chance.

  • Accidentally Deleted Webpage - I think!

Okay, I'm extremely new here (joined 3 minutes ago!) but I'm in desperate need of help. Last year I made a VERY simple web page for my husband's stuttering support group. I'm trying to update it, but can't find any of the data, even tho I can see the page in my browser. I'm afraid that I must have accidentally deleted it. When I go to my iDisk and check the iWeb folder, there's nothing there. How can I copy or fix this?
This is the link to the page: http://web.mac.com/mebaik/iWeb/Site/SpeakEasy.html
    Thanks a million!
    mebaik

Thank you very much for your help. I did as you suggested and found a newer web page that appears to have saved over my old site.
Since my original site still comes up in the browser, do you know if I can access that info and copy it to another site?

  • Safari on my new macbook air keeps freezing. I think I might have deleted something when migrating from my old macbook. Any ideas what it would be?

    Hi All
I have recently purchased a new macbook air. I used the migration software to transfer everything from my old macbook to the new one. I had lots of crap on the computer, so went through and deleted lots of applications and documents from the new macbook air. Now I've gone to use safari and it keeps freezing once I leave the home page, or one click afterwards.
I'm worried I accidentally deleted something I need to run safari. I followed the instructions on the support website to check my "library" for internet plug-ins etc, but there wasn't anything in those folders.
Any ideas on how to fix this or how to check what I need to run safari properly are most appreciated!

Please read this whole message before doing anything.
This procedure is a test, not a solution. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
    Step 1
The purpose of this step is to determine whether the problem is localized to your user account.
Enable guest logins* and log in as Guest. For instructions, launch the System Preferences application, select Help from the menu bar, and enter “Set up guest users” (without the quotes) in the search box. Don't use the Safari-only “Guest User” login created by “Find My Mac.”
While logged in as Guest, you won’t have access to any of your personal files or settings. Applications will behave as if you were running them for the first time. Don’t be alarmed by this; it’s normal. If you need any passwords or other personal data in order to complete the test, memorize, print, or write them down before you begin.
Test while logged in as Guest. Same problem?
After testing, log out of the guest account and, in your own account, disable it if you wish. Any files you created in the guest account will be deleted automatically when you log out of it.
*Note: If you’ve activated “Find My Mac” or FileVault, then you can’t enable the Guest account. The “Guest User” login created by “Find My Mac” is not the same. Create a new account in which to test, and delete it, including its home folder, after testing.
    Step 2
The purpose of this step is to determine whether the problem is caused by third-party system modifications that load automatically at startup or login.
Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed for the test, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards. Boot in safe mode* and log in to the account with the problem. The instructions provided by Apple are as follows:
Shut down your computer, wait 30 seconds, and then hold down the shift key while pressing the power button.
When you see the gray Apple logo, release the shift key.
If you are prompted to log in, type your password, and then hold down the shift key again as you click Log in.
Safe mode is much slower to boot and run than normal, and some things won’t work at all, including wireless networking on certain Macs.  The next normal boot may also be somewhat slow.
The login screen appears even if you usually log in automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin.
*Note: If FileVault is enabled, or if a firmware password is set, or if the boot volume is a software RAID, you can’t boot in safe mode.
Test while in safe mode. Same problem?
After testing, reboot as usual (i.e., not in safe mode) and verify that you still have the problem. Post the results of steps 1 and 2.
