I think I screwed up and "fixed" something I should not have

In trying to track down a system slowdown, Leopard Cache Cleaner found a file named "msng" in my login items folder. Using the "reveal" feature did not find it belonging to any application. And it did not show up in my accounts pane as a login item. I could only see it with Leopard Cache Cleaner. A google search showed that it was either a piece of malware or something to do with Microsoft Messenger. I don't use Messenger and I don't want malware, even PC versions that won't run on a Mac. I virus scan with both ClamAV and Symantec showed my system was clean.
So I deleted it using LCC. My bad.
Upon restart I got the blue screen of death and the only way I could get back was to boot from my second internal drive and run DiskWarrior and re-apply the Combo 10.5.2 updater. My restarts are painfully slow now, full of weird happenings on the monitors and taking almost 10 minutes to get to my desktop.
So, is there anyone out there who can tell me what "msng" was and how I can get it back? Clearly it helped the boot process somehow.

If you mean the listing of internet streams that seems to have disappeared for many users of older iTunes versions over week ago. Probably some update at Apple broke older versions. No idea if it will ever come back but you can open stream URLs you find on the web and save them in playlists.

That is only present if you have already updated to iOS 5 or later. If you're on iOS 4 you can only update while connected to your computer's iTunes.

You can't access iCloud from your iPhone unless you're on iOS 5 or later. Otherwise, refer to this article:

How do I get rid of the blank space after one paragraph and before the next paragraph startsin Pages '09? I understand that I should not have a page break mid paragraph but that is what I want.

These are unrelated questions/statements.
Space before and space after a paragraph are controled in the Text Inspector, as you've found out.
Pages will create a page break whenever there is no room for another line on the page. That break can come anywhere in a paragraph.
You may be thinking of Widow and Orphan prevention, and the other Pagination controls, found under the More button in the Text Inspector. (If that's what you found, then thanks for the refresher! I hadn't been to that pane for awhile, and had forgotten the variety of pagination controls available.

Safari auto-update - how do I update something I do not have?
I have autoupdate configured to run automatically to keep my iTunes client up to date. Yesterday when it ran I got an unexpected result. The updater wanted me to update Safari - to be honest, I didn't even know what Safari was, it is not installed on my machine.
I am trying to understand why an opt-out "update" was pushed on my machine for a product that I do not own. How can you update something you do not have?
Can someone verify if this push is even really from Apple - it seems more like some kind of malware?It didn't stop with Safari. This is what I got:

Note: I already have the latest Safari-, QuickTime and iTunes-version installed and don't have AirPort or CD/DVD-Sharing. In fact, I even don't have a MacBook Air.

In CS6 my created and then saved jpegs do not have the same icon as jpegs I receive from others. When attached to email they don't actually attach but appear embedded in the email and vertically squished. Any ideas?
It could be as simple as having two different file extentions jpg vs jpeg. As for the emails, that may depend on how you are attaching them to the email.
In most email programs you can open a new document then choose file attach or file import. Former would be attachments or links and the latter would be embedded.
On windows systems you can also send images to the email app, in the explorer right clicking and sending would open a small app that will resize the image to reduce the file size. This app could in theory squish the image. -
I have two macs in my house. One is newer and came with the os x mountain lion software and the other one needs to be upgraded. I was wondering if there is a way to take upgrade from one to the other? Should not have to buy this software again.

I would like to reload the recent software update for iPad. When bringing it back up I skipped the Apple ID step and should not have.
You can sign in at the iTune and App Store.

Big Mistake, I upgraded to OS X Mavericks this morning and now I have lost all my e-mail folders where I was saving important e-mails. I did a mailbox rebuild and it did not bring them back. Should not have upgraded?
I do not remember what version of OS it was. I have carbonite back up but I am not sure it backed up my e-mail.

I am trying to implement the security in the project for the very first time from scratch , and requirement is -
there should be 3 type of user Groups - Super, Power and End users
All the users have their own specifications, along with that, one common requirement is, in-spite of the group user belong to, should not have the rights to save the BO reports in the public folder but may save it to its Favorites.
I have created one super users group and also assigned some rights to Reporting folder.
But
1. I am not getting any option to achieve the above mentioned requirement.
2. I am getting Error ERR_WIS_30253 while trying to refresh the reports.
Looking forward to have a quick reply from experts.

For Err_WIS_30253:
We generally follow the practice of creating custom access levels as per the business requirement and apply them on the folder level. If you're one of us, to resolve this issue for WEBI reports you would have to edit the custom access level applied on the folder by providing "Refresh report's data" privilege for 'Web Intelligence Report' in 'CONTENT' rights collection.
The key is 'CONTENT' right collection. Its similar in BIP 4.x Platform with 'owner' privilege.
Issue is resolved.:)
If above practice is not followed in your org you could also provide above stated privilege on the folder containing the WEBI report.
